Chapter 1073: Chapter 379 You Don’t Even Want to Call Me Master_4
Idinis crossed her arms and with half-closed eyes, assessed Sarosia through narrowed slits: "Looking at your pathetic state, it seems you’ve achieved nothing, he must be very disappointed in you."
"Boss is here too?!"
Sarosia paled with shock, hurriedly wiped the ashes off her face, tidied her hair, and made her Armor look brand-new.
How interesting!
Idinis secretly chuckled, eager to fast forward to the end and witness Sarosia’s complete downfall.
Then, to tell her that it was all Wayne’s deception, that the Storm and Thunder God, a loser of the faith war, had long since perished.
Surely, the sight of Sarosia’s breakdown upon learning the truth would be spectacular.

Boom!
A dark spot crashed to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
Wayne stepped out of the pit and gave Anastasia a slight smile, sending her a telepathic transmission to check on her, relieved that she was unharmed.
Unharmed, yet trapped here with no way out.
Due to the nature of the Void Lifeform, it won’t die from hunger or thirst.
Anastasia returned a serene smile, and as she and Wayne exchanged looks, Sarosia gripped her spear, came over to Wayne, and bowed her head, "Boss, I’ve disappointed you."
Her tone was quite defeated, somewhat pleading for forgiveness.
"Is that all you have to say? You really do take responsibility!"
Idinis, standing beside Wayne, like a treacherous advisor by the side of a dethroned emperor, suggested, "Clear rewards and punishments are essential to manage subordinates. Her incompetence must be punished, or rules will be broken, making future management difficult."
Sarosia glared at Idenis, tightly gripping her spear, but did not refute her own incompetence.
"Oh, in your opinion, how should I punish her?" Wayne asked with a side glance.
"Punish her by having her entertain you tonight; seeing her claws and teeth, it’s clear that this wild horse hasn’t been fully tamed yet," Idenis loyally advised.
Hearing this, Sarosia trembled, biting her lip, then...
She still didn’t retort.
Such a fine mule, grateful for the grass, never asking for more on its own, even capitalists would pity.
"Seems reasonable."
Wayne nodded. "Sarosia, you have wasted too much time; I am very disappointed. Do you have any excuses?"
"No, I am willing to accept my punishment," Sarosia said with a trembling tongue.
"Well then, I sentence you to continue the investigation."
"..."
Aren’t we going to sleep?
Surprised, Sarosia looked up and saw Wayne’s stern face, feeling immensely ashamed.
Annoyed and humiliated, she glared at Idenis, blaming this wicked woman for misleading her and causing her to see her own faith through tainted lenses.
Anastasia: "..."
Just a hardworking individual, caught between former and current leadership, she had things to say but preferred to remain silent.
"What’s going on here?"
"Boss, it’s like this..."
As Sarosia began to answer, Wayne’s telepathic transmission penetrated her body, reviewing her memories of the past days, scenes flashing by. Before Sarosia could finish, he had grasped the whole context.
Idenis purposely provoked Sarosia; the three-person investigation team was reduced, without the deadweight teammate, Sarosia quickly sniffed out the Obelisk’s aura and entered this church with Anastasia.
And then they were sealed inside.
Leaving aside the extensive recount of Sarosia adeptly fighting, the plot was rather limited, just an interlude animation could explain it.
"Boss, I can sense the presence of the Storm and Thunder Lord, and he can sense me too. From my estimations, he has completed his reincarnation."
Reincarnation, not possession.
According to Sarosia’s guesses, the Storm and Thunder Lord was not alone; he had a significant force in the Ross Federation and had likely succeeded in spreading his faith, gathering a following.
Wayne slightly frowned, "You’re correct; not in vain did I set this test for you. Your reasoning and answers are quite close."
Sarosia was overjoyed, thinking about how she was trapped and Wayne had to come rescue her personally, immediately deflated.
Pure Goddess, I can’t bear to deceive her anymore.
Wayne internally commented, then asked, "Tell me, based on your investigations in recent days, where in the Ross Federation is the power of the Storm and Thunder Lord hidden?"
"Heavenly Father’s Court!"
Sarosia asserted confidently, "His followers are scattered throughout various churches, connected in series, forming a grand-scale Hexagram array. He’s planning to use the Obelisk to reclaim all his power in one go."
"Is it possible it’s related to the Dark Church?"
"Impossible."
"Not even a bit?"
"Not a bit!" Sarosia affirmed confidently.
"What if it is?"
Idinis spoke sarcastically, "With your intelligence, you’d surely have dismissed the correct answer first."
Unable to tolerate it any further, Sarosia exclaimed angrily, "In the name of faith, if I’m wrong, do with me as you please. Dare you bet?"
"Bring it on, I’m not afraid."
Wayne: (눈_눈)
Somehow, he seemed to anticipate the outcome of the bet, and he was a part of it too.
This, perhaps, was his faith in both Sarosia and Idenis!
