Chapter 1053: Chapter 374 Just casually talking between us bros, but you actually did it - Part 4
The mountainous forest world constructed by the six people had undergone a complete transformation under the devouring of black vines; mountains collapsed, waterways grew foul, trees adopted a dark sinister glow, the green had dissipated, replaced instead by rot and a suffocating life force.
A world once bursting with vibrant life was now left a barren wasteland.
In this apocalyptic scene, the eight black vines were the sole sovereigns, wildly proliferating and aggressively invading—manipulating the original essence and claiming the entire world as their own territory.
Despair and helplessness flashed across the faces of Weiwen and his two companions, helpless to stop it, even grouping together provided no respite, forcing them to quickly join Tubie and Gavin, and together the five of them managed to save a small habitat.
A tremendous pressure, like the sky collapsing, bore down upon them, their facial expressions extremely grim.
Ludwig had already taken that step, he himself was now a Demigod, and together with the Philosopher’s Stone made by a Demigod, that made two Demigods.
0.5+0.5=1, he had totally become a God!
Don’t worry about whether the equation works like that; just say whether it holds up!
To the five, Ludwig was now indistinguishable from a deity, their lives in his hands.
"His Holiness the Pope, I too wish to go to Hell!"
"How I long to become a Devil, I just lack His Holiness pointing me the way."
"Give me a chance. I had no choice before, but now I only wish to be a Devil!"
The three Insectoids pledged their loyalty, causing Gavin’s face to turn ashen, and he tightened his grip on the Knight’s Sword.
Tubie and Dusa remained silent, their hearts in turmoil, uncertain how they would survive. They had seen Wayne and knew the heir to the Naturalist Knight was nearby, but...
In just one year’s time, no matter how talented Wayne was, he couldn’t possibly defeat a Demigod wielding the Philosopher’s Stone.
Moreover, their man hadn’t arrived, only sending the envoy Saina, and his whereabouts were unknown.
If they were at Church headquarters, then they were done for—everyone surrounded by Ludwig, without even a chance to send a message for help.
"How about it, High Priestess Saina? Compared to the Demigod you’ve seen, who is stronger?"
"No, you have not yet become a Demigod."
"..."
"They’re still here, their life force fields still persisting. This isn’t how a true Demigod should perform, you’ve only reached the power of a Demigod, not actually become one."
Saina pursed her lips, reveling in the limitless bliss of body and mind, and slowly spoke, "Let me guess, you haven’t taken that step yet, have you? You’ve simulated the Life Domain with the Philosopher’s Stone, right?"
"Saina, you’re too smart, such cleverness will not win the favor of your knight master!"
Ludwig didn’t refute; he indeed hadn’t taken that step, due to a slight deficiency in his realm which prevented him from fully devouring the life force fields of Gavin and the others.
For now, it was not yet time to take that step; only when Hell Gate truly opened would he wholly accept the Devil’s lineage and officially take that step.
When making deals with Devils, one must always be cautious.
He also kept watch over the Divine Naturalism Kingdom, lest he be snatched away by the Goddess and turned into a part of the Kneeling Mules Tribe just as he achieved Demigod status.
Although not a Demigod, he still possessed the power of one, and with a complete Life Domain, Ludwig paid no mind to Saina, focused only on determining how strong Wayne had become.
He believed Wayne was an incredible prodigy: a Silver Mage a year ago, now a Golden Mage, combined with the Elemental Mantra, his powers nearly at the level of a Demigod.
That was the limit; he couldn’t possibly be stronger!
But given assumptions are just assumptions, better to ask clearly.
"You’re not wrong, my knight master indeed detests me, but as a bad woman, that’s a point in my favor..."
Cells within bursting in infinite joy, Saina nearly lost composure and revealed her true form.
She quickly stifled her voice, switching to a colder tone, "Ludwig, you’re not a true Demigod, there’s no need for my knight master to intervene, today I shall take your head myself."
"You?!"
Ludwig laughed lightly, finding the joke delightful, his coldness mixed with a touch of pleasure, and he was dead serious in his ignorance.
"Traitor Ludwig, you have become a minion of the Devil, betraying the Goddess as well as your own faith, your future ends here!"
"Don’t spout nonsense, as if you have any faith."
"I truly do..."
Saina swiped, creating a dark line, pulling out the Elemental Mantra from her Personal Space, a surging life force spreading out and enveloping her body, furiously empowering the knight and sending visible rings of energy pounding through the sky.
"Elemental Mantra?!"
The power of the Godchosen Artifact was undeniable, stunning the spectators including Ludwig.
Everyone exclaimed in disbelief, racking their brains as to how Saina got her hands on the Elemental Mantra.
It seemed she also mastered the power of the Elemental Mantra.
Not at all like a God-chosen Knight.
"Don’t you understand? This is the reward for my loyalty to my faith!"
Saina’s lips curled into a smile, the Elemental Mantra held high above her head, her beautiful physique suddenly expanded, casting large shadows from midair.
"Roar roar roar————"
The Giant Dragon descended, a sea of Magical Tide surging forth.
Four elemental colors permeated...
As spatial ripples shimmered, pair after pair of dragon eyes slowly opened.
