Chapter 1051: Chapter 374 Just casually talking between us bros, but you actually did it_2
If that’s the case, no matter how many Legendary Mages come, it would all be in vain, even if they are the elite among these Legendary Mages.
Ludwig’s face darkened as he scanned the crowd. Saina’s guess was right: in the last two years, or to be more precise, the last year, some changes had occurred to him—he was no longer purely human.
He had transplanted the bloodline of a Devil, half-human, half-demon, only waiting to set foot in Hell to become a true Devil.
Long ago, Ludwig had been making eyes at the Prussian Upper Echelons, their relationship ambiguous, initially to expand the number of followers and to solidify power while taking the opportunity to reap some benefits.
Storage facilities couldn’t keep burning down forever; taking private jobs for a quick buck was the real deal.
As the collaboration deepened, Prussia’s appetite grew larger, mentioning the Devil’s Container and asking Ludwig for some technical assistance.
Ludwig didn’t participate in the project, but he also didn’t directly refuse, sending the Hell Studies knowledge confiscated by the Naturalism Church to Prussia to see how promising this Hell project was.
At that time, Ludwig was still in a wait-and-see state, thinking about descending to Hell but not fully committed, considering it as one of his future options.
Later on, he offended the inheritor of the Naturalist Knight, Wayne.
He sensed a deeply hidden killing intent on Wayne, and the scales slowly tipped towards Hell. When he contacted the Prussian Upper Echelons, he helped them overcome technical difficulties and met one of the Seven Demon Kings.
An adult Devil, a mature Pope, the two spoke only about the reality and not empty promises; Ludwig decided to go to Hell.
The Demon King offered Ludwig a way, but first, Ludwig had to help open the Hell Gate, then came Ludwig’s various maneuvers.
Whether delegating authority or instigating infighting among the Divine Oracle High Priests, they were all tricks to deceive others. He had never intended to enter the Divine Nation, nor had he considered passing the position of Pope to anyone.
The entirety of the Naturalism Church Headquarters was just a stepping stone for him to knock on the door to Hell.
Ludwig had calculated that the Naturalist Knight Mula seldom traveled on the Icebound Continent, and when he did, it was to carry out Divine Decrees and not come to the Naturalism Church Headquarters.
The heir Wayne was talented, cunning, and his only shortcoming was youth; his potential required time to realize.
He gave him two and a half years to become a true Naturalist Knight, plenty of time to open the Hell Gate in the Prussian capital, Berlin.
Ludwig had planned everything meticulously, whispering to himself that nothing could go wrong, spending his days painting and enjoying music, delegating authority, and guiding the Divine Oracle High Priests and the Prussian Upper Echelons into deep collaboration, tying everyone to this lightning-fast chariot.
The only thing he didn’t count on was the Great Prophet, and there was a problem with the Holy Maiden. The Goddess, who usually didn’t involve herself, suddenly issued a Divine Decree.
Ludwig didn’t know if the Divine Decree was true or false, but his intuition told him that the Great Prophet and the Holy Maiden were lying, spouting madness and nonsensical talks, aiming to drive him from power to reclaim their own rights.
The likelihood was as high as 99.9%.
And for that remaining 0.1%, Ludwig didn’t dare gamble; if by chance the Goddess was serious, continuing his act would be like sitting ducks.
He couldn’t wait!
Eradicate all those in the know, then buy some more time to open the Hell Gate, thereafter, the sky’s the limit for freedom, the ocean vast for the taking; no one would be able to restrain his steps forward.
Serve the Goddess?
Why should he? The Goddess was just born a few thousand years earlier; give him a few thousand years, and he’d make the Goddess work for him!
"Ludwig, as things stand, you’re no longer the Pope of the Naturalism Church."
"You’re a sinner of the Church!"
"There’s no need for chivalry when dealing with a Devil, Vice Commander Gavin, let’s do this together!"
The three Divine Oracle High Priests spoke one after the other, standing on the moral high ground and pointing fingers at Ludwig.
Insectoids are like that, a true smart person would remain silent at this moment. After all, at this point, there isn’t much left to discuss.
Whether or not Ludwig was a Devil, the blade was already on their necks; just do it and it’s over.
"Hmph!"
Ludwig snorted coldly, his hand swinging out a gleaming long knife from his robe, its large head made for hacking and slashing.
He swung the long knife forward, its incomparable sharpness turning into a grim reaper’s scythe-like phantom, growing larger with a terrifying howl, splitting the air and sending forth terrifying energy vibrations.
Around him, the invading Life Force Fields were caught up in the waves of rage, the forest collapsed, and the ground split in two in an instant.
Upon seeing this strike, Weiwen immediately changed color.
Ludwig didn’t attack Tubie or Gavin; he chose to cut him down first.
What does this mean? Does he think he’s easy to squash?
Weiwen snorted coldly, "Let’s take him down together quickly, to avoid any longer and more complicated issues."
Beck and Makarai, two Insectoids, offered their help at a neither slow nor fast pace, ready to sacrifice Weiwen to temper Ludwig’s edge.
Tubie guarded the powerless Holy Maiden Dusa, pretending he couldn’t leave.
At the critical moment, Gavin was the one who rushed to the forefront. He disliked Weiwen, but right now, Ludwig was the real enemy.
Knight’s Sword in hand, Gavin charged towards the hurricane-like blade wind rushing his way.
As he closed in, the reaper’s scythe split into three, surging past Gavin and heading straight for Weiwen, Beck, and Makarai.
Weiwen was the weakest in the Life Force Field, but Beck and Makarai were no different; seizing them would be like Ludwig catching soft persimmons.
Boom!!
Where the blade passed, the green landscape shook violently like an earthquake, leaving three extended cracks.
As the blade grew larger, it pushed open the ground sky-high, turning the ravine into an Abyss and completely splitting Weiwen and the others’ tightly linked Life Force Fields.
