Chapter 104: Chapter 80 - It’s Never Wrong to Have More Faith in God_2

Thank goodness he had many gods on his side, otherwise, he would definitely have been smashed into a memorial photograph on the spot.

"What the hell, didn’t you just say you would protect me?"

Wayne widened his eyes, seeing that the Void Lord across from him was vaguely beginning to reshape his form, he decisively spoke, "Nature Goddess, my teacher is a disciple of the Nature Goddess, and if nothing goes wrong, I am too."

"Nature Goddess, Nature Goddess..."

Plank picked through the items on the ground, laying out three small objects, aside from the Naturalist Bracelet, there were also the Sun’s Medal and the Moonlight’s Statue.

The three goddesses formed the Life Alliance, allowing disciples to learn the other two types of Faith Magic within the alliance. Simply put, disciples of the Nature Goddess could learn the magic of the Sun and the Moonlight.

In Plank’s view, this was a typical case of having one’s cake and eating it too. Faith was not unique; the so-called Life Alliance was no different from the Liberty Mage Alliance, only that it was a circle limited to just three types of faith.

In other words, by proclaiming his faith in the Nature Goddess, Wayne could not only use the Naturalist Bracelet but also the Sun’s Medal and the Moonlight’s Statue.

Out of caution, Wayne was just a Mage apprentice, with limited thinking and magic power, unable to unleash the full power of the Naturalist Bracelet. Plank instructed Wayne to carry all three Magic Tools with him.

Plank: "If one isn’t enough, use a few more, Gods, you can’t go wrong with believing in more."

Wayne had no idea about Plank’s outrageous thought process. Being a Legendary Mage, widely knowledgeable, there must be a reason for his arrangement. Stowing the three small Magic Tools in his bosom, he opened his mind sensitivity, unleashed his magic power, and simultaneously invoked the three types of Faith Magic.

Boom!!

A whirlpool of magic power erupted from the ground, and the whirlwind rapidly expanded into a fierce wind barrier. Plank hadn’t even had time to react when he was filled with the gale in his mouth, howling as he flew into the air and was harshly thrown out.

He fell headfirst into the ground, smashing a patch of concrete.

Ignoring the Magic Tools scattered all over the ground, he stared at Wayne with wide eyes, his face filled with disbelief.

This level of thought, this degree of magic power, it surpassed the vast majority of Silver Mages...

This is a Mage apprentice?

What surprised Plank wasn’t just Wayne’s thought and magic power but also his perfect mastery over three different types of Divine Power: the vitality of nature, the brightness of the Sun, and the tranquility of the Moonlight. His body wasn’t affected by the Divine Power and perfectly preserved his self.

"Is it because the three faiths have reached a balance in his body?"

"No, I can’t do it, he’s even less likely..."

"Even a God’s Chosen wouldn’t..."

"I see, it’s his physique, or possibly his bloodline..."

Plank muttered to himself, his eyes shining without realization. Wayne might be special, one of the very few or perhaps the only one, but he proved that the Liberty Mage Alliance was on the right path, everyone’s theory was correct.

Boom!

With the three Magic Tools added to him, Wayne felt alternating sensations of hot and cold on his body, but luckily the problem wasn’t severe. The strange energy that surged into his body was subdued by The Book of Greed with one gulp, instantly making him feel lighter.

The Book of Greed shielded him from the negative effects brought by the Divine Power, allowing him to cast three different magics at will, but he couldn’t control different attributes of magic simultaneously like Plank did. He needed The Book of Greed to switch for him.

That’s enough!

Wayne clenched his fists, waved his hand to draw out a golden longsword condensed with light. Thinking it over, slashing techniques would be mediocre against the Tentacle Monster, so he instead swept his hand, and a magic tide leveraged the real world, raining down countless golden longswords.

The sunshine poured down on the Void Lord like raindrops, each sword a highly concentrated scorching flame, blasting the Void Lord into continuous screams, and a significant portion of its already sparse thoughts evaporated under the searing heat.

Bullying the weak feels great!

The joys and sorrows of people do not interconnect; the Void Lord’s screams only inspired Wayne further. Switching to the power of nature, he waved his hand to scatter a vast number of spores, parasitizing the Void Lord with a body full of red umbrellas, draining its vitality and then propagating a second, third time.

As the magic tide receded, Wayne felt somewhat tired, preparing to try using the Moonlight’s method. Once he switched, his fatigued spirit was embraced by tranquility, and in an instant, he was filled with energy, with most of his magic power restored.

If poor, mix tactics, if rich, let it explode.

Wayne, with no more worries, switched up his techniques, bombarding wildly with growing enthusiasm, making Plank look at him with a strange expression and hurriedly interjecting, "Take it easy, don’t collapse the sewers, magic is diverse, you shouldn’t always think about brute forcing."

It makes sense, but if brute force works so well, why should I even bother using my brain?

Wayne found his own path of magic, just blast everything away, but he admitted that Plank was right, he couldn’t just focus on his own pleasure and completely ignore the feelings of the sewers.

Wayne stopped the relentless bombardment and switched to using spore parasites to whittle down the Void Lord’s thoughts; in terms of efficiency, it was far inferior to mass-producing Sun God Swords.

He turned to Plank, wanting to hear any guidance the Legendary Mage had to offer.

Plank, as if by some freak chance, tossed the Pendant of Death to Wayne, "Marshall has learned Life Magic, his thoughts and life force are exceptionally resilient, you could try the power of death."

Wayne nodded, and without waiting for Plank to say anything more, he deftly caught the Pendant of Death and switched modes, mass-producing Holy Swords of Death.

The effect was remarkable, the Void Lord’s screams of agony were even more painful than before.

Plank: (눈灬눈)

So you only know this one trick, huh?

Plank didn’t want to comment on Wayne’s lack of imagination, what’s useful is all that matters, the rest is empty talk.

What he wanted to say was, never use the Pendant of Death together with the artifacts of the three Goddesses, it’s common knowledge they don’t get along, he, as a Legendary Mage, could barely suppress the backlash, but if Wayne used it, he would certainly...

Oh, because it’s you, the Goddesses stopped fighting.

Wayne once again demonstrated his exceptional nature to Plank, simultaneously wielding death and sun Faith Magic without being affected in the slightest; this was beyond genius, he was clearly a natural freak.

In Plank’s view, Wayne was a disciple tailor-made by the gods themselves, destined to carry the flag of the Liberty Mage Alliance.

"He said his teacher is a disciple of the Naturalism Church, which is a bit troublesome, snatching someone else’s student doesn’t look good..."

"My reputation is already in tatters, no big deal."

Ten minutes later.

Plank, having regained some spirits, came to Wayne’s side with a bunch of small magic tools, occasionally switching them out to torment the Void Lord in various ways.

Wayne happily accepted them all, at this point killing the Void Lord wasn’t important anymore, The Book of Greed was having a feast tonight.

Each one was an exquisite appetizer, the plate smaller than a saucer, at best merely a dip, but the variety was overwhelming, catering to all tastes.

The Book of Greed was overjoyed, tonight’s spread was even more satisfying than entering the Gate of Truth, it was happy, and so was Wayne.

Twenty minutes later.

The Void Lord’s thoughts were evaporated by the sun, foam corroded by death, and before dying, it roared furiously at Wayne, issuing a dozen vicious curses.

Wayne responded with a middle finger, then turned to Plank and laid out the facts, most of the magic tools were Plank’s—the Evil God’s curses should, at the very least, be his to shoulder ninety-nine percent of.

Plank didn’t care, checking to see if Sidney could still be saved, and comforted, "Every year, I get cursed by patients thousands of times, and yet I live just fine. If curses really worked, then forget about me, the gods themselves would’ve fallen."

Wayne: The logic’s sound, but don’t you have any reverence for the gods at all? Is that really okay?

Plank: The Void Lord is already dead. What are you still doing with my treasures? Young man, is it really okay for you to play the fool like this?

Five minutes later, Plank grumbled as he fished the last magic tool from Wayne’s sock.

"That’s disgraceful, you who claim to be a follower of the Nature Goddess, hiding the bracelet in your sock! Where is your devout faith, your unyielding reverence?"

Plank fiercely scolded, showing the authority of an old, white-bearded mage, roaring like a bluster machine before he said, "Give up, you’re not a suitable believer, not now, not ever. Join us, the Liberty Mage Alliance needs talents like you."

So you’re with the Liberty Mage Alliance, no wonder you believe in just about anything.

Wayne was taken aback, remembering the manuscripts of the Nelson Family, he instinctively said, "The grass is always greener on the other side?"

"Huh, you actually know this identifier code?"
