Chapter 1015: Chapter 365 Thought of Something Happy_2
A woman’s mind is hard to guess, a goddess’s even more so. He scanned her thoughts, didn’t perceive anything unusual in Idinis’s body, and decided to suppress his doubts for now.
"Boss, I want to go back to the Dark Church Headquarters," Anastasia said.
"Why would you want to go back there? It’s nothing but ice and endless potatoes."
"My father is still there..."
...
Wayne fell silent, reminded of Anastasia from the Inverted World, he agreed to her request and asked Sarosia to accompany her.
Sarosia’s current strength was enough to contend with God’s Chosen Knight. With her there, even if something unusual happened at the Dark Church, Anastasia could easily handle it with her cooperation.
Just in case, the four obelisks could not be taken away.
Anastasia was definitely action-oriented. Seeing Wayne agree, she immediately prepared to start her journey.
Wayne watched the Glamor Lady pack her luggage, his heart couldn’t feel more reluctant as Idinis took the opportunity to cling to him and complained, "Really no choice, the tainted Holy Maiden is gone. Now I have to bear this shame."
"Who are you, really?" Wayne frowned and asked.
"I am your devotee."
"Perhaps..."
Wayne remained skeptical. After pondering for a moment, he said, "You go to the Ross Federation too. After this is over, you can get something from me. How about that?"
"Wayne, don’t you trust me?" Idinis’s eyes welled up with tears, ready to fall at any moment.
"Then don’t go."
"I’ll go."
...
Wayne stared deep into Idinis, who wiped away her tears and smiled brightly.
Her agreement indicated that Idinis had desires beyond faith for Wayne; she wasn’t merely a follower, almost proving she was a shadow of the Dark Goddess.
Controlling a goddess’s mind, even just partially, wasn’t something mere corruption could achieve.
Wayne thought to himself how troublesome this was and scoffed, "Someday, you’ll turn into what I want you to be."
"Wayne, I’m already what you want."
"That’s perfect."
The three ladies started their journey that night. Wayne draped the Shadow Cloak over Anastasia, signaling that he would quietly await in Lundan.
It shouldn’t be much of a problem; Idinis had needs from him, so even if she didn’t help, she wouldn’t cause trouble either. Sarosia alone was enough to solve everything.
Even if great trouble arose, the three lives evolved from the Void could safely return.
Wayne hated to say it, but still, he had to admit it seemed secure.
——
At Wayne Manor, Dark Domain.
Chris changed into a hospital gown and sat on the operating table, staring in astonishment at the vast Dark Area surrounding her.
The space was incredibly vast; her teacher Philomena’s Dark Domain was nowhere near this expansive, and Philomena was a Legendary Mage, while Wayne had only recently become a Golden Mage.
Thinking about still floundering in the realm of a Silver Mage, and hearing Veronica might make it, Chris felt the pressure. It seemed she couldn’t compare to anyone except Viley.
Wake up, Chris. Viley is God’s Chosen reserve. If Leo returns to the Divine Nation to report, she would be the next Sun Knight!
The details of the Inverted World were only disclosed to Austin; even Viley didn’t know her own strength there, let alone Chris.
Knowing would only increase her anxiety.
"Chris, it’ll hurt a bit in a moment, trust me. I’ve practiced a lot outside to help you get through this; I’m very experienced. Just endure the initial pain, and it’ll feel much better afterward," Wayne said, holding the Holy Grail.
Chris spat quietly, blaming Wayne for always being flippant even at a time like this.
She liked hearing it; keep it coming.
Chris decisively agreed after learning from Wayne that Divine Blood could awaken her.
She had a very unpleasant awakening experience involving her terrible foster mother; a past she didn’t want to recall, and was very resistant to Divine Blood, but because it was Wayne, the person she trusted the most, she consented to today’s operation.
Wayne was deeply touched by her full trust—undeniably, she was Veronica’s Moonlight, and he felt good using it, too.
The awakening of Divine Blood needed no extra explanation; Wayne was indeed very experienced. After gathering extensive experimental data from Juno and Alisa and coming fully prepared, the operation flowed smoothly, and soon Chris was on the right track.
To be cautious, and to ease the pain, he slowed the process down, dividing the operation into seven days, each day one treatment.
All for stability.
The Holy Grail, surrounded by gold light, floated mid-air; an invisible force gently lifted Chris, her platinum blonde hair cascaded down, moving softly with the overflowing Moonlight from her body.
The moment Wayne started, he noticed Chris was different from Juno and Alisa; the Divine Blood in her didn’t come from Heaven and was not from the same source as those bizarre creatures.
As the Divine Blood activated, Chris’s appearance gradually underwent changes.
Elven transformation!
In terms of body structure, she maintained her original slim build, her feminine softness accentuated, very similar to Philomena’s elven form.
Recently, Chris had complained about eating too many supplements, gaining a small ring of fat on her belly, which was now smoothed out.
"Philomena’s elven transformation mainly follows the faith of Moonlight, incorporating nature from the Life Alliance and the sun. Similar to Philomena’s... Does the Divine Blood come from the Moonlight Goddess?" Wayne speculated quietly, recording data in his thoughts.
Chris’s changes were mostly in the details, like turning on a beautifying filter, her already beautiful appearance now even more stunning.
Her platinum blonde hair remained unchanged, keeping the color she had since the evolution began.
