Kai heard all this in his mind since he was still unable to see.

However, he was brimming with joy.

He had done it!

He had managed to succeed in the first difficulty of this stage.

Now, it had been only a few seconds since he had arrived in the second difficulty of the stage, but Kai decided to do the same thing as before.

He decided to enhance his hearing. If it had worked in the previous stage, maybe it would work this time.

Kai was waiting for the 30-second mark. He thought that it would also be heading in his direction at that time.

However, this time, it did not. It came a little later, around the 40-second mark.

It was the only thing he could sense.

’This means I must figure out a way to dodge arrows using my Monster Energy. I must create a skill capable of passing this stage difficulty.’

However, truth be told, Kai had no idea how he could do such a thing.

All of his senses were blocked. He couldn’t enhance one of his senses like before.

Also, it had only been a few seconds since his senses had been blocked, but it literally felt like hours.

He had no idea what was happening.

Those were questions that were coming to his mind.

’I need to clear my mind of useless thoughts,’ Kai suddenly thought, his eyes shut. ’I cannot feel death; I cannot die. Why do I fear it?’

Kai gave his entire attention to his Monster Core and Monster Energy.

And he began testing a bunch of different ideas he started having.

Isla, who was in her room, was starting to become bored.

It had already been more than twenty hours since Kai had been stuck on the last difficulty of the second stage.

And as far as she could see, he had not made any progress forward.

She couldn’t tell what was going on in his mind. But one thing was sure; he was probably on the verge of completely panicking and losing his mind.

Isla knew very well what such a long time without access to any senses could do to a being. She had experienced it firsthand.

She had experienced it.

Her friends had too.

It was a step that everyone needed to face to become much stronger and obtain something called [Sixth Sense] or [Surrounding Awareness].

Those were the two skills people usually created to pass this stage. A few had created unique skills, but those were uncommon paths—something only geniuses had managed over the years.

In fact, only one person had managed to create a unique skill from this situation: Varkul himself.

No one else across the thousands of years Isla had lived had managed to do so.

"Will he also be able to?" Isla suddenly thought.

He had taken three tries to figure out how to create skills—something that she had never seen before.

Even the most talented geniuses of their time would have taken half an hour. And Kai had managed to do it in less than two minutes.

She shook her head.

The more she learned about Kai, the more Isla wondered how Varkul chose his successor.

How did he know about this boy’s talent?

’I must be missing something here.’

Isla remembered her current form, and she recalled the words from the Elven Spirit King.

’What if... Varkul turned me into a fairy?’ Isla frowned. ’I need to find out more about this. Fairies, there must be a reason he turned me into one. Is the power from fairies needed?’

Isla shook her head.

She knew that some of Varkul’s history had been completely wiped off from the world. However, was it really to the point where the fairies’ power was needed?

She couldn’t say just yet.

She needed to find out more about what happened after his death.

’Hm... let’s see how long this will take,’ Isla thought with a smirk. ’The record was set by Varkul, and even he took over twenty-three hours.’

’Has it been five days already?’ Kai thought, tired. ’When can I get out of this place...?’

Nothing worked.

He had tried everything.

There was nothing he could do with his Monster Energy to sense what was happening around him.

Nothing.

Hope was wearing thin.

Kai was on the verge of giving up. He wanted to give up. But he knew the importance of this trial.

He wasn’t sure how much time he had spent in this place. He guessed a little over three days. His time in the Trial of Monsters was running short.

He needed to hurry up, but he didn’t know how.

He didn’t know when he would be hit by an arrow or some object.

He didn’t know anything. He hadn’t figured out anything.

Kai had even thought of making a shield out of Monster Energy, but even then, he didn’t receive any notice that he had passed the difficulty, meaning it had failed.

There was only one idea that made sense to him after all this time.

He needed to spread his Monster Energy over the entire area around him. That way, he would be able to create a mental image of his surroundings.

However, Kai was lacking Monster Energy.

He didn’t have enough.
