Chapter 46: A Powerful Man

Chapter 46: A Powerful Man

Debris began falling on top of all the humans trying to save those who had jumped off.

It was a pity, truly. If only they had watched from afar, not caring about others. They would have survived for a few more minutes. They still would have died, but they would have gotten a bit more time.

"AHHHHH!"

Everyone below began screaming as loudly as they could.

"LOOK UP!"

Shadows covered the ground and soon, it would be blood.

The debris fell at a rapid pace, killing everyone below it. Kai didn’t get system notifications this time. However, he would still be able to devour those beings as soon as he got down from this building.

Speaking of which, that’s exactly what Kai was doing at the moment, as he crawled down the side of the building, his claws etched into the wood, making sure he wouldn’t fall to his death.

He could see dozens if not hundreds of people running away and soon enough, a loud alarm resounded in the city.

-BEEP!

-BEEP!

It kept going and going. The guards posted on the ramparts were moving this time. Too many people had died inside the walls; they needed to check it out. However, they were still nowhere to be found, giving Kai just enough time to kill those running away.

Reaching the ground, Kai used [Shadow Claws] right away, focusing on the range of his attack rather than the strength of it. He knew that as long as it touched those humans, he would be able to kill them. There was no doubt in his mind about it. He was convinced of it.

He closed his eyes and summoned the Monster Energy all the way to his claws, which were coated with dark energy, spreading forward at least three meters.

Kai slashed forward, and dozens of heads were cut off. He did it again in another direction, and the same thing happened again.

Panic took over everyone when they saw their closest friends dying out of nowhere. People began shouting for help from the guards who were still on their way.

Kai received massive amounts of system messages. But he simply dismissed them instantly, not even looking at them whatsoever. He focused on killing as many as he could.

Blood spattered all over his body, but he knew that it was necessary given his enemies. Kai was tired of being the one preyed upon. Everywhere he went, they were always stronger than him, no matter what happened. There was always someone stronger.

In the Dark Elf Village, in the Elf Village, in the Human village... everywhere they were all stronger than him, and he was tired of being treated as weak when he had the potential to overwhelm all of them.

Isla kept repeating that his system was completely overpowered. So... why was it that he was still so weak compared to everyone else?

It had to come to a stop.

If Kai needed to kill humans to become stronger, then he would do it. He no longer cared. He didn’t want to die. This game was his second chance at life. If he were to die... then all of this would end.

He couldn’t take on this risk. He couldn’t go back to his previous life. It would ruin him. He would be even more depressed than before, knowing that such an exciting world existed.

That’s why there was no pity in Kai’s eyes as he watched their heads cut off from their bodies. In fact, a small grin began forming in the corner of his lips. It was discreet, but it was certainly there.

Then, after he was done with killing most of the civilians, the guards finally showed up.

They expected to see a bunch of humans in a frenzy, killing everyone. However, all they found was a small dragon standing in the middle of a pool of blood, bodies surrounding him from all sides.

"Was it the one who killed all of them?" one of them muttered. "It looks so... young and harmless."

One of the more bulky guards suddenly stepped forward, hearing those words coming out of his friend’s mouth.

"Leave him to me. All of you cannot deal with it. It might seem young, but this is an unusual dragon. A mix between two dragon races... maybe something else; however, it’s hard to tell." The man brandished his sword. "It’s special and dangerous. Keep your distance."

The man who stepped up locked his gaze onto Kai, who still hadn’t moved, observing all the guards who now formed a circle around him. They wanted to make sure he couldn’t flee.

However, why were they convinced that he wanted to flee?

They were the ones who should be scared.

A single man walked forward, his aura on a completely different level from the rest of them. With a glance, Kai felt his core was much stronger than his own. He wouldn’t be surprised if it was over the Gold Rank, maybe even Platinum.

’This will be tough,’ Kai thought, happy to have evolved before coming inside this place.

With his previous evolution, he would have lost without a doubt. This new evolution gave him an edge over the rest. He had more possibilities to attack others.

"Stop moving," Kai uttered, using [Dragonic Mind], wanting to see the effects it had on a stronger being.

Unfortunately, it didn’t have any. The man didn’t even stop for a millisecond; it was as if he had received no orders.

"I don’t understand the Dragon Tongue, young dragon. However, that never stopped me from killing your kind," the man muttered. "Killing a dragon of two different races will be a first."

Kai frowned slightly at those words. ’He already killed dragons... just how powerful is this man, really?’

Feeling the tense energy thickening, Kai activated [Shadow Armor], a coat of solid shadow energy covering his entire body.

"Um... let’s see just how powerful that armor is." The man smiled as he suddenly dashed forward, slashing his sword down, aiming to split Kai’s body in two.
