Chapter 45: A Plan

Kai was stunned at this message.

Wasn’t this world fake? Why was it that he could devour the beings inside it?

Still, those questions quickly stopped and were replaced with a wide grin. This trial would be much better than he had expected. He would be able to get much stronger by the time he came out of this place.

’Yes. I want to devour the human,’ Kai thought in his mind as he received the same percentage as when he had called that player.

Kai smiled brightly as he knew that by the time he got out of here, he would be able to get much closer to becoming a humanoid once again. He knew that he still needed to check what would happen if he were to kill an elf or a dwarf. However, that would be for another time.

Kai was about to go on a killing spree, and he wouldn’t stop out of mercy.

Around two hours ago, a shirtless man squinted his eyes as he felt a disturbance on the first floor.

He closed his eyes momentarily and opened them right away.

’Myre. What did you do on the first realm?’ The man had a soft smile as he shook his head. ’The Trial of Monsters has been used for the first time since Varkul was killed... It seems like those final words are finally on the verge of happening. Maybe they already happened.’

The man yawned slightly and stretched as he stood from his platform. Not far behind him was a small area of control where a red button was placed in the middle of it.

However, just as he was about to reach it, the man from the shadows came out right in front of Lord Wyatt.

"Wyatt. What’s happening?! Wasn’t the anomaly dealt with? Hasn’t it killed one of the representatives before dying? Why is a monster using the Trial of Monsters?"

The voice of the man was no longer calm and composed. It was agitated. He was panicking.

"Heh. I think I told you loud and clear that if you wanted this situation to be dealt with, you could go yourself."

The man’s fists clenched, his entire arm trembling because of the tension he had just applied to it.

"Fix this situation. Send someone to pay a visit to the elves. Tell them that if this isn’t fixed and dealt with, they will be exterminated, just like we have done with all of Varkul’s allies."

"Oh, you’re uttering his name now. No longer scared of him, are you?"

The man did not even try to say anything else and disappeared as his voice echoed within the space.

"Get it done, or I’ll let those at the top know."

Wyatt laughed as the man disappeared and pressed the red button before him. It was time to call an emergency meeting.

While all this happened in the outside world, Kai continued the first stage without much difficulty. The humans he had killed at the moment were quite weak, not yet going after the guards. Instead, he sneakily killed civilians. However, after around five minutes, he realized that this method would take way too much time.

He needed to kill over 3,000 people. That was huge; killing them one by one clearly wouldn’t do here. He needed to kill a large number of them at once.

But then the question that came to mind was... how?

The only way Kai could think of was to gather all the humans in one precise spot and drop a bunch of heavy things on top of them, killing them at once. However, as soon as he did that, everyone would take notice of him. He wouldn’t be able to hide and kill without the guards knowing; the entire city would be on alert.

’I have no choice. I’ll have to make it work.’

But then, another problem came to his mind.

How was he supposed to gather heavy material with the body of a newborn? He was powerful; however, not in the physical sense. He couldn’t drag those things all by himself. He would need help... human help.

He smirked as he remembered the last skill he received.

Kai walked around the city and began using [Dragonic Mind] on them. Everything was progressing smoothly as Kai had given an order for them to wait in a random abandoned house that he had found. After some time, Kai had gathered over 20 humans to do his work.

Kai already knew where he wanted to go to gather those heavy materials.

The highest point of the city.

The reason for that being that it would cause the most damage to those receiving the material as long as gravity did her work.

"Gather as much scrap as possible and bring it to the top of this place," Kai said as he pointed toward the highest point of the city.

The humans nodded like robots and began working. Kai saw them wandering the streets with one simple thought in mind. It truly was impressive just how powerful this new skill was.

He could basically create slaves for himself as long as they were much weaker than him.

One hour later, they had gathered a lot of scraps for Kai to use.

Kai had already thought of the way to catch the attention of everyone nearby. It was quite the genius idea, all things considered.

"Everyone scream as loudly as you can. Then jump off—except you," Kai said as he pointed toward a random human.

Kai had no mercy for those humans. This universe was fake; there was no point in caring about them, especially since he had to kill them if he wanted to become stronger.

All nineteen of them began shouting before jumping one by one.

Everyone within the city had their eyes turned in their direction. Even the guards on the ramparts, and immediately, there was movement in the city. Dozens of people gathered below the building, trying to see if it was possible for those people to be saved.

’There’s only 40 people. I need at least one hundred of them,’ Kai thought.

He knew that he wouldn’t be able to kill everyone, but if they were grouped up like this, using [Shadow Claws] on a large number of them was possible. The range of attack depended on the amount of Monster Energy used.

A few minutes passed, and at least three hundred people were in the street where they had jumped off, trying to understand what the hell just happened.

Kai smirked and looked at the last human he had left alive.

"Push those off."
