Chapter 32: Veyron Gold

Ever since the game started, Kai had never truly realized just how important he was to other players within the game. He also ignored most of the things happening within the human villages, cities, and whatnot. After all, on top of being a monster, he was also unable to see the forums.

His only source of information was his sister, who would tell him a little about everything on the game forums. However, that was the extent of it.

That’s why when Kai saw players offering over $200,000 for him to simply join their guild, he was completely mind-blown by it. He simply didn’t understand how any of those guilds had so much money. This was simply a game, and as far as Kai knew, there was no way to make money through it.

At first, Kai had been completely uninterested in the offers, as he simply wanted to play alone, away from everyone else since he was a monster.

But... $200,000 was a lot of money; everyone would think again before making a rash decision when that much money was involved.

With that much money, he would be able to pay off all of his bills and move to a much better establishment than the one he was currently in, which was known as D-Rank Hospital. His parents had decided to send Kai there because they deemed that no one would ever be able to save him and that he was completely useless.

Still, if he were to accept one of those offers, getting treated in a B-Rank Hospital, or even A-Rank, should be possible. But even now, something was making Kai doubt joining them.

’Why would they offer so much money for me to join their guild? There has to be something in it for them. No one would be stupid enough to spend all that with no way to make it back.’

It made Kai think that maybe he had completely dismissed a concept of this game: making money through this game.

And not a little amount of money... was it possible to make a ton of money through this game?

He was the top player. If there really was a way, then he would be able to become extremely rich and powerful without a single doubt.

’I should investigate before making any decisions,’ Kai decided, thinking that it was the wisest choice at his disposal.

And just as he was about to leave, a shout, much more composed than the others, echoed into his ears. It was strange; the man had clearly shouted. However, it almost felt as if it had been a whisper.

"The Sovereigns are offering $1,000,000."

As soon as that was said, all the other guild leaders shut their mouths instantly. They knew that they could not make an offer that could rival this, and knowing the owner of the Sovereigns... they knew that the correct decision was to step out of his way.

A man stood in the middle of the South Entrance as everyone moved away from him.

He wore the flashiest equipment ever: a nice gold armor that could be considered the best armor at this moment in the game. The man had his helmet off, showing off his perfect face. He had beautiful mid-long brown hair, blue eyes, and a perfectly chiseled face. Truly, any girl would fall for this man in an instant.

"Wait... isn’t that Veyron Gold? The famous playboy whose father is the most powerful man in the United States?"

"I-I think so..."

"What the hell is he doing here?"

"I don’t know, but he looks so good!" one of the few girls in the crowd shouted. "Veyron, I’m your biggest fan! I’ll do anything; please date me!"

Veyron paid little attention to those nearby as he patiently waited for Notamonster to come out and greet him respectfully. Ever since he had seen the very first global announcement, Veyron had become a little obsessed with Kai, wanting to know his every secret on how he managed to become so powerful out of completely nowhere.

Surprisingly, Veyron was actually quite known within the gaming scene, as he always made sure to be the best player in all the games he touched. He always had the top gear, and he would spend as much money as it would need. However, things were different in Realms of Monster because there was a monster of a player who had obtained all kinds of extremely rare artifacts early on in the game, completely changing his plans.

After a few more seconds of waiting and seeing that no one had walked up to him, Veyron kept a smile as he was completely fuming on the inside.

’How dare that nobody humiliate me like this in front of everyone! Is one million not enough?’ Veyron thought. ’Just how much does that greedy bastard even want?’

"1.5 million. That’s as far as I’ll go. Show yourself, or you will be considered an enemy of the Sovereigns forever," Veyron said with a serious look on his face.

He didn’t want to get humiliated any further. That’s why he added that last sentence; he thought that it would be enough for Notamonster to finally show himself. All Veyron truly wanted to know was what this bastard of Notamonster looked like. That way, even if he refused, he would be able to find him again no matter what.

But, once again, one minute passed by, and no one had appeared before Veyron.

This time, it was extremely hard for Veyron to keep a straight face. He had just offered a lot of money for one individual, and the stupid bastard didn’t even realize the opportunity that he had just handed out to him.

Unknowingly to Veyron, Notamonster was currently hesitating strongly whether to show himself before this man and obtain that life-changing amount of money. However, even now, Kai decided to wait things out. There had to be a way to make money through this game; he was sure of it. He simply hadn’t heard of it because he was so far away from all the human civilizations.

’I’ll have to ask Lily later. If I can become rich through this game, then my recovery might no longer be a dream...’
