Sorry for the unannounced absence. I'll try to make it up to you guys sometime next week.

Chapter 79

Carlson’s ‘enough’ got our attention, well, my attention, as Zara was already conversing with him while taking care of me. I wonder if it was about her having a new toy or something, but whatever it was, she was having fun, that was for sure. So much so that she even defied her own father and continued to cater to me rather than converse properly with him.

“Are you done?” He asked, to which Zara nodded and replied, “Yes, Jack’s penis abnormality usually dissipates by now.”

As if her words were waiting to happen, my dick suddenly shrank to the point of a stub while it was still in Zara’s hands. It was quite a depressing sight for me, but Zara simply said, “See, Father?”

“Yes, I did.” Carlson replied before he looked at me, “And? Is there any benefit to doing something like that?”

“Yes.” Instead of me, Zara replied and stood up, making her way to the bed, and she assumed a cross-legged pose and began to channel the small amount of mana in her abdomen. Usually, she would be too out of it because of how much I would usually cum inside of her, but this time was just once, and so there wasn’t much mana to absorb.

She absorbed the mana in a few minutes, during which I remained quiet and Carlson remained focused on Zara. I was busy observing Carlson, who was covered in the dried squirt juices of his daughter, but didn’t bother doing anything about it.

I could only laugh at that, but I made sure not to show anything on my face. I couldn’t afford an inquiry after all.

Anyway, Zara was soon done and said, “I absorbed ten days’ worth of mana from just doing much. Just wonder how beneficial Jack’s power would be to me, Father.”

Her ecstasy could be sensed in her voice. On the contrary, Carlson only had a somber expression on his face. He didn’t let anything show on his face for quite some time before he asked, “Can it be used for everyone?”

“Only for women, my lord.” I immediately replied.

“Only women? Why?” Carlson asked with a frown.

“Because men do not have a vagina, Father,” Zara replied in my stead.

“So a vagina is a requirement, huh?” He mused by himself before he asked, “Have you ever tried with men?”

I’d rather throw myself into the deepest pits of hell.

“No, my lord. But seeing as they don’t have a vagina, it seems it is not possible.” I suppressed my disgust and kept my expression as straight as possible. I kept my answer the same as Zara's, not to overcomplicate the matter.

“Understood.” He said and stood up, “I’ll deal with Ruuthaven for now. Then I’ll return and discuss with Her Highness the queen. If this mysterious ability can raise one’s mana, then Her Highness the queen would be very interested.”

Woah!

The scale was getting bigger and bigger from the looks of it. Still, his next words gave me a little assurance, “But keep this ability a secret. Do not do anything like this other than Zara. We need to keep this weapon to ourselves at all costs.”

That’s great and all, but…

“Forgive me, my lord, but I have already performed this activity with young lady Cassandra and my mother.” I refrained from mentioning my sisters because Zara didn’t know about them, but she did know about Rayla, whose example I had used to placate her, so I could use her.

“That is fine, but do not let it spread out.” He replied, to which I nodded and said, “I shall only use this ability to empower Lady Zara, my lord.”

“Good.” He replied, seemingly impressed by my answer, but he said nothing more and said, “Rest now, but be on your toes. We do not know how this dungeon will turn out to be.”

“Yes, Father.” Zara replied before she turned to me, “You may leave as well, Jack. Go be with your family, they might also be worried.”

“Yes, Lady Zara.” I didn’t show an overly display of loyalty and quietly followed orders. I left before Carlson and made my way towards the house next to this one when I suddenly felt a shockwave spread throughout the area before a subtle wave of mana flowed through the space around me, making the already existing natural mana of the world tremble slightly.

Mana was integrating with the mana of the world after it was released from the dungeon. It was the classic sign of a dungeon opening. Which also meant whatever was inside was now outside.

That given, I was quite curious about what would be happening at the actual sight, so, ignoring my order of going to my family’s side, I made my way to the source of the mana release as quietly as possible, without catching anyone’s eyes.

As I arrived at the scene, I heard the sounds of battle and looked through the trees. Just in case, I had purchased a perception-deceiver mask from the shop, so no one should be able to make sense of me even if they could somehow spot me.

At the scene of the battle, I witnessed different monsters like those from the failed lab experiments or something. They were grotesque, and the stench emitted by them was something that could even make me cover my nose.

They were about three foot tall, bulky like golems, and their defense, given the sword strikes of the soldiers and knights were not doing significant damages, was very high.

They were slow, which was a plus point, but their high defense was still a problem. Their attack power was just as high as their defense. They were the kind of monsters I had never witnessed before. I didn’t know which dimension they came from, but they weren’t the fantasy monsters in the usual settings.

They did resemble the rat monsters greatly, but their transformation wasn’t complete. These monsters, however, seemed complete. Of course, given their looks, it was clear they weren’t successful experiments, but they weren’t like the rats either.

Whether they were experiments or not was also another question that needed to be answered. Keeping all of these things in mind, I was quite curious about these monsters. I would have loved to study them and figure out their structure, but there was just one problem with that.

“Maintain the line!”

“Archers at ready!”

“Mages heal the injured!”

“Attacks mages attack!”

“Knights! Draw their attention properly!”

Cassandra, like a commander on a battlefield, was barking orders even when the real knight who was with Carlson was probably also present. Still, her strategies weren’t half bad. Actually, they were quite good for her age.

She utilized archers, mages, and knights perfectly. And that was the problem at hand. While the monsters were ridiculously sturdy, they were killable, and it was being proven by them right now.

Soon enough, they were on the brink of death. Now I would have loved to jump in like a masked, mysterious individual, but that wasn’t a good idea. It was only so in an anime or so.

Here, however, if I were to jump in, with the knight from Carlson’s side present, the fate to await me would be only one.

Death.

Sure, I was strong and I had skills and experience in droves compared to some boy born yesterday, but strength was the first and foremost rule of everything. Tricks were useless before absolute strength. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Anyway, there was no point in staying here. The only reason I did was to see what the decision would be, followed by the end of this battle.

As the battle ended, in the victory of the humans and the mana in the air stabilized, which signified the closure of the dungeon portal, which I couldn’t see since it wasn’t in my immediate vicinity, silence enveloped the area for some time.

After some time, Cassandra said, “Salvage what can be salvaged. We’ll take these corpses back to see what these creatures were.”

“Understood, my lady.” The knight replied, and the order was carried out. The dead were stripped of anything useful, such as money, weaponry, armor, and such, and then were just there as they were.

As for the monsters, they were properly tied up, and the soldiers and knights began to drag them away, without cutting them, because they were to be examined.

Once everyone was gone and I was sure no one was left to notice me, only then did I sigh and come down from the tree, storing all the corpses in my inventory, which was almost half of the force brought by Cassandra. Some quite strong ones among them.

Anyway, once everything was done and I was about to leave, I felt the mana in the air tremble once again. However, this time, it wasn’t a dungeon gate opening. The mana trembling was the very same one from the dungeon, which wasn’t yet integrated into the mana of the world.

It was flowing somewhere else.

Strange, right?
