My Vampire Beloved Husband
Chapter 94: Giggles

Chapter 94: Giggles

Zylan fell silent. He couldn’t believe how calm he felt, just from Naomi’s actions. The raging storm within him, so fierce and consuming only moments ago, began to subside. The redness in his eyes, once blazing like an inferno, began to dim, fading back to their original deep crimson hue, tinged with an unsettling warmth he hadn’t felt in years.

He shook his head, his voice low, steady, and laced with a mixture of disbelief and frustration. "No, Naomi. I can’t turn you into one."

The firmness of his words made Naomi frown, her golden eyes narrowing slightly as she studied him.

Zylan sighed deeply, running a hand through his dark, tousled hair. "You damn eaglet," he muttered under his breath. The nickname carried both affection and exasperation, as though he didn’t know whether to be charmed or infuriated by her. "You have no idea what you’re asking for, no idea what you’re saying. Do you?"

"Yes, I do," Naomi replied softly, her voice unwavering.

Zylan could not believe this wife of his. She was acting the opposite of what he had thought. He had thought she would run, yet she didn’t. He thought she would be scared, but here she was, asking for... damn.

His crimson gaze sharpened. "No," he said again, firmer this time, his voice like steel. He shook his head, as though trying to rid himself of thoughts that haunted him. "I can’t... I won’t. You don’t deserve this." His voice cracked slightly, the faintest hint of vulnerability breaking through his usual cold exterior. "You don’t deserve to see this... to be part of this dangerous..." He trailed off, frustration evident in his voice as he hissed, "F*ck."

Before Naomi could respond, Zylan pulled her closer in one swift motion. She had been kneeling between his legs as he sat on the floor, her presence grounding him in ways he didn’t fully understand. Now, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his chest with a gentleness that belied his earlier tension.

His face rested on her shoulder, and for a moment, he was utterly still. Silent. He closed his eyes, inhaling her scent—a soothing mix of vanilla and jasmine that seemed to calm the beast within.

"I’m so sorry," he whispered, his voice breaking, the words heavy with regret.

Naomi hugged him tightly in return, her arms encircling his broad frame. She could feel his muscles tensing beneath her touch, as though he were holding back a tidal wave of emotion. Her hands trembled as they traced soothing patterns along his back.

"Don’t you dare apologize," she said fiercely, her voice cutting through the stillness like a blade. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. "It’s not your fault. None of this is your fault."

Zylan didn’t respond immediately. He remained still, as though her words were too much for him to process.

Naomi bit her lip hard, willing herself to stay strong for him. Slowly, she began stroking his hair, the silky strands slipping between her fingers. She leaned closer, her voice barely above a whisper as she spoke again.

"You don’t have to worry," she murmured. "I’m here. I’m not going anywhere."

Her words felt like a promise, one Zylan wasn’t sure he deserved.

"Damn... Eaglet, what are you doing to me, huh?" Zylan finally said, his voice low and gravelly, carrying a hint of a growl that sent shivers down Naomi’s spine. His crimson gaze, now glowing faintly in the dim light, locked onto hers with an intensity that made her breath hitch. "You’re driving me crazy."

He pulled her closer, his hands firm yet gentle as they tilted her face up to meet his. Naomi’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she stared at him, her golden eyes wide with a mixture of awe and nervousness. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.

"I want to be selfish, baby," he murmured, the endearment slipping out before he could stop himself. His voice was raw, unguarded, and filled with a longing that made Naomi’s heart skip a beat.

Her golden eyes widened at the word "baby," her face turning an even deeper shade of red. Her heart thudded against her ribcage, each beat louder than the last.

"I want to be very selfish with you," Zylan continued, his voice dropping to a husky whisper that sent heat rushing to Naomi’s cheeks. "I want you for me and me alone... and that’s..." He hesitated, his gaze flickering away from hers as if struggling to find the right words.

Naomi, sensing his internal battle, offered him a soft, reassuring smile. "You can have me, hubby. I’m all yours," she said, her voice light yet brimming with sincerity.

Zylan’s eyes snapped back to hers, his crimson gaze boring into her with an intensity that made her knees weak. Her words seemed to disarm him completely, shaking the unshakable.

"Eaglet..." His voice was strained, his hands trembling slightly as he cupped her face. "You don’t know how dangerous this is. You don’t know what you’re saying."

Naomi held his gaze, her golden eyes steady and unwavering. She wasn’t sure what dangers he referred to, but she knew one thing: she trusted him completely.

"You don’t know what it means to feel addicted," he continued, his tone growing darker, more intense. "I’m getting addicted to you... and it’s dangerous."

Zylan’s frustration seemed to reach its peak as he ran his hands through his hair, sweeping it back in one swift, effortless motion. To him, it was a simple act of exasperation. To Naomi, it was the sexiest thing she had ever seen.

Her breath hitched as she watched him, her heart pounding in her chest. Her husband was driving her absolutely crazy, and she wasn’t sure how much longer she could contain herself.

Before she could overthink it, she reached out and cupped his cheeks with both hands, pulling him closer. She pressed a soft kiss to one cheek, then the other, her actions filled with tenderness.

Zylan froze, his crimson eyes wide with shock as he stared at her. Had this little eaglet even heard what he’d just said? How dangerous this was for her? Yet here she was, showering him with kisses as though his words hadn’t registered at all.

"You’re so cuuuute," Naomi giggled softly, her golden eyes sparkling with amusement.

Zylan’s gaze darkened slightly at her words. Before she could plant another kiss on his cheek, he moved faster. Catching her lips with his own, he silenced her giggles with a kiss that left her utterly breathless.

Naomi froze, her mind blanking as warmth spread through her body. Before she could react, he kissed her again. And then again, each kiss more intense than the last.

When Zylan finally pulled back, a chuckle escaped his lips as he took in her wide-eyed expression.

"You’re more adorable," he murmured, his deep, velvety voice sending a shiver down Naomi’s spine.

Still stunned, Naomi touched her lips, her heart pounding like a drum in her chest.

Zylan chuckled again, the sound low and rich, as he reached out and effortlessly scooped her into his arms. Naomi’s eyes widened in surprise, her hands instinctively gripping his broad shoulders.

"Zylan, I can—" she started to protest, but he interrupted her with a firm "Shhh."

"No, you can’t," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "You’re barefoot."

Before Naomi could process his words, he moved—fast. The sudden burst of speed made her gasp, her golden hair flying behind her as her breath caught in her throat. The sensation was exhilarating, unlike anything she had ever experienced.

And just as abruptly as it began, it stopped.

They were in her room. The afternoon sun spilled through the curtains, bathing the space in warm, golden light.

Zylan set her down gently on the bed, his expression serious as he gazed at her. "Don’t ever go barefoot again," he scolded, his tone firm and unyielding.

Naomi, however, burst into soft giggles. Climbing onto the bed, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her golden eyes twinkling with mischief.

It was then she realized just how tall he truly was. Even standing on the bed, she barely reached his forehead. A playful grin spread across her lips.

And then she jumped on him.

Wrapping her arms and legs around his broad frame, she clung to him, laughing. "Please carry me again!"

Zylan froze, momentarily speechless as he stared at her.

"Make sure to use your speed this time!" she added, her excitement making her sound like a child begging for another ride at a carnival.

Zylan’s lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out. He simply stood there, holding her, his crimson gaze locked on her glowing golden one.

For the first time in a long while, he didn’t know what to do.

"No," he finally said after a moment of silence, but she still clung to him.

And just as he thought she would obey, she pulled away, patting her lashes before pulling on her lower lip.

"Pretty please?"
