My SSS-Rank Gluttony Talent: I Can Evolve Limitlessly -
Chapter 54: Ridiculous
Chapter 54: Ridiculous
Riley didn’t even feel much guilt actually, despite fully realising what he had done.
Not even with the village in shambles, the air still heavy with the stench of blood and smoke, and all the notifications of dead NPCs and players flashing before him.
A part of him couldn’t help but feel it was necessary.
Like he had only done what needed to be done. He had been hungry, and needed to consume something, so all he had done was eat.
It was that simple. The only thing that made it embarrassing was how he lost his mind while doing so.
He exhaled slowly, a low chuckle escaping his lips as he stared blankly at sky.
"I’m really starting to lose my human side," he muttered.
He didn’t know how he felt about that.
On one hand, he was getting stronger—evolving with every monster and person he consumed. On the other hand... he might not even recognize himself if this went on.
Would he even care about things like guilt, regret, or morals by the time he reached whatever peak this path was taking him to?
He rubbed a hand across his mouth, still sore from where fangs had torn through his flesh and receded, and shook his head with a small scoff.
There was no point thinking too much about it now. The deed had been done and nothing could change that.
All he had to do was make sure such never repeated itself again.
He grunted and staggered slightly, still dizzy from the overload of notifications and the aftershock of his rampage.
His head kept throbbing, almost like someone was pounding his brains with a thick hammer.
"Status window," he muttered.

Riley blinked, his mouth opening in shock as he stared at the tabs floating before him.
For several long seconds, he couldn’t find any words to say, his eyes flicking rapidly from one stat to another, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
"Wow..." he finally muttered.
His Strength stat had passed nine hundred. So had his Agility, and his Mana was well on its way too.
Though he knew he had gotten stronger after the rampage, as he could feel the power coursing through his veins even now, he was still surprised it was this much.
He couldn’t believe it.
It wasn’t just his attributes either.
His eyes drifted down to the long list of Skills, a few of which he didn’t remember having until now.
However, when he thought about it, it didn’t seem too crazy anymore.
He had devoured dozens of monsters, most of which were dire wolves, and were fairly high-level.
There were also the NPC’s such as the guards, and the villagers he consumed during his rampage.
He didn’t the exact number of attributes he had absorbed, but he was sure all of them added together were over a hundred.
Most had come from the monsters, as majority of thr NPC’s hadn’t given him much attributes.
But still, he had absorbed Basic Alchemy from one of them, along with a small number of stats.
"...Huh." His brow furrowed slightly as he scrolled down to the description again, rereading it.
[Basic Alchemy (Level 1)]
[Rank: E]
[Allows you combine simple materials into different potions and compounds. Success rate depends on what you’re trying to create, and could be increased by leveling up skill.]
He hadn’t even thought to look closely at it before. At the time, he was too dizzy—too buried in notifications to care.
But now that he did...
"This could be useful," he said quietly.
Being able to make potions, or even basic compounds... it might not be combat-oriented, but that kind of utility could come in handy long-term. Especially if he could level it up later.
Then his eyes rose up the status window, and there it was.
A second Talent, added beside his original one—Gluttony (SSS)—with a neat (B-rank) sitting right next to it.
The one he got from devouring Harty.
Apart from the talent, there was also Ghost slash, a powerful C-rank skill he also got from consuming the NPC.
Riley tilted his head slightly, frowning.
"Ironblood Fighter... sounds like a talent more suitable for a warrior." he muttered.
Nonetheless, it could prove to be useful to him, since he needed all the power he could get.
Even if it didn’t exactly suit his current class, he would make sure to utilise it properly.
But then, when he looked a little below his talents again, he noticed the new addition to his status window—Titles.
Titles, just like the name implied, were similar to a badge due to achieving something within the game.
There were ranked similarly to items and artefacts, from common to divine, and the power or effect of the title depended on its rank.
’Hungry demon...’ he thought, not really sure how to feel about the new title.
He also got the [Wolf Slayer] title, but that was a normal title that could be achieved by killing a hundred dire wolves, or any wolf-type monster.
Nonetheless, he checked the description of both titles.
[Title Details: Wolf Slayer (Uncommon)]
[Description: You’re bane of wolves, a brutal hunter who slays any wolf that appears before him]
[Effect 1: Wolves Killer] — When fighting against Wolf-type monsters, you gain a 10% boost in attributes and attack damage.
[Effect 2: Wolves’ Bane] Damage received from Wolf-type monsters reduced by 10%.
[Effect 3: Enemy of Wolves] — All Wolf-type monsters have hostility towards you, and will be wary of your presence.
[Title Details: Hungry Demon (Epic-Rank)]
[Description: You’re a Gluttonous Demon, that never gets satisfied no matter how many things you consume. Consume all, Devour all... bring forth terror!]
[Effect 1: Hungry] — Whenever you’re hungry, all your attributes receive a 15% boost.
[Effect 2: Fear-monger] — Instil fear to anyone who dares to think of opposing you. Those who fear you receive a 10% debuff in all their attributes when facing you. 20% chance of instilling effect [Freeze] on enemies who plan to attack you, depending on how much fear of you in their hearts.
[Effect 3: Hunger for More] — You gain a 10% boost in attributes when up against more than five enemies.
The former was just like he had expected, giving him an edge when fighting against Wolf-type monsters.
However, the description of [Hungry Demon] shocked him the most, and he read through it twice just to be sure of what was in front of him.
’The title... is actually powerful.’ he thought, his eyes shining in excitement.
At first, he felt a bit terrible at gaining such an embarrassing title, but after reading through the description, he was excited at its effect.
It said he would receive a 15% boost in attributes whenever he was hungry, but since he was always hungry, the boost was practically permanent!
’But bring forth terror?’ he mumbled inwardly, his brows twitching. ’What an edgy description.’
Riley sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Everything was happening so fast.
One moment, he was barely surviving in the forest, and now—now he was sitting on the edge of a blood-soaked village with two Talents, dozens of new Skills, and attributes far higher than he ever expected.
And yet... despite everything, the only thing he could think about...
Was how little guilt he felt.
