My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World -
Chapter 23: Here I Come!
Chapter 23: Here I Come!
There were a few reasons why Leon was confident in Silver’s survival. It wasn’t blind confidence because he loved her or anything.
He just remembered a few details from the game.
In it, Silver didn’t attend the Academy for quite a while, which made people assume that it was because of her grief. After all, she had lost her supposedly best friend.
The developers—aka Leon—never gave any proper explanations, so players filled it in themselves by making theories.
But it also meant that they were just possibilities, and the true reason was never specified.
Only now did he understand that the true reason she wasn’t at the game’s start was because she was exploring the Primordial Expanse due to its Call.
And she survived there even while carrying the sadness of losing the most precious person in her life. It must have left her in disarray and in depression. Yet this girl actually managed to return back to Earth.
Leon could guess the reason for her determination too. After all, he had designed her character and knew her feet well.
Things might be different in this world, as everyone was real instead of being characters, but a lot of things were also the same.
In the game, Silver slaughtered her way back to Earth because Leon’s mother was still waiting for her. She was her family, so how could she die and leave her behind?
Silver valued family and her loved ones the most, even more than her own life, so it really didn’t come as a surprise to him that she actually survived, even with that grief.
In this timeline though, she didn’t lose anyone and had two loved ones to support her resolve and determination.
Leon was confident that she could definitely make it out alive. But there was also a voice in his mind telling him that the only reason Silver survived in the game was because of his mother.
After his death, she was left all alone, so that became the reason for Silver’s perseverance. She didn’t want to leave her all alone in this world.
But if she began to have thoughts that she wasn’t alone this time, that might make her... complacent about her situation.
Leon shook off those unnecessary thoughts as he came to the upper floor of his dorms.
’I didn’t really explain much about the connection between Jade Cross and Silver in the game, but they were definitely related and became very close to each other. Now, will this reality follow the same script?’
Soon, he reached his room and found a cute little rabbit-like robot with a big round body which had a large screen upon which its cute face was showing. The robot also had short limbs.
It was a Doodle—robots meant for assistance, which were very useful in a lot of things.
One of their functions was safe delivery, and this little guy was wearing a red uniform, which showed that it was specially designed for delivery work.
Of course, no Doodle looked like typical robots. They were like small stuffed cute toys with semi-intelligence because of AI.
Sensing him, the cute delivery Doodle turned around and blinked at him with its rectangular eyes. Then it waved its hand with sweet doodle sounds coming from it.
"Hey there, buddy. Did you bring my package?"
"Doo~ do~" Doodle nodded.
Its face disappeared from the screen as a black square appeared on it. Leon pressed his right hand on it, and his handprint was registered on it.
"Doo~"
The Doodle shook slightly before taking out two boxes from its back along with a chip that it gave to him.
Once the delivery was done, Delivery Doodle ran away at an incredible speed.
Leon took the boxes inside his room and closed the door. He was quite excited for his new weapons, so he quickly opened them and found a pair of short swords in one box and a war hammer in another.
He first took out the short swords and stared at them in excitement. After all, he had only used the simulated one, not the real one.
The short swords weren’t fancy—just a matched pair of sleek, obsidian-forged short swords, built more for killing than for ceremony.
Each blade curved ever so slightly, sharp enough to split hair mid-air and light enough to vanish in a flicker if swung right. Their hilts were wrapped in dark leather, worn and practical, with subtle grooves that fit into his palms like they were crafted just for him.
Even if there wasn’t an enchantment to call it an Artefact, it was still at the limit of human technology.
"These are good," he smiled and turned towards his other weapon.
The war hammer was a beast in itself—brutish, broad-headed, and heavy enough to crater bone through armor. One side of the head was flat and unforgiving, perfect for raw force, while the other ended in a blunt spike meant to tear through scales or stone.
Its handle was reinforced oak, wrapped in iron bands and leather bindings that still carried the scent of blood and sweat.
It seemed a little big for someone of his stature, but he would have to handle this beast for his revenge.
Leon quickly put them in his inventory and focused on the small chip. He plugged it into his tablet, let the Gaia AI scan his identity, and then began to read the information.
There was a detailed analysis on dual wielding and also notes of many Awakened who specialized in dual wielding. There was so much information about it, which made Leon happy.
With these notes and practice, he could attain some mastery in dual wielding at least.
He spent the next two hours studying the manual and making notes of his own while also trying to remember the details well. He planned to practice in the dungeon, so he wanted to have at least his basics clear.
Once everything was done, he set the tablet aside and made himself comfortable on his bed. He had to change the bedsheet often now, so he wondered if he should purchase one that could be auto-washed or something.
Leon cleared up the unnecessary thoughts, closed his eyes, and slowly drifted to sleep.
"Here I come!"
