Chapter 17: Confession

Leon didn’t say anything more, so while Silver was curious about the debt he mentioned, she didn’t ask about it since he didn’t seem to be willing to talk about it.

The woman was pleasantly surprised and also happy that she made a Tier 2 artefact transaction. After all, Tier 1 artefacts were very cheap, so the commission she received from them was very low.

Tier 2 artefacts were different, and that was the same reason why Leon felt a pang of pain in his heart for his wallet.

Just one purchase had brought his savings below half. It pained his heart, so he tried to change the subject and asked, turning towards Silver, "Let me have a bath, and then we’ll continue our date."

"Sir, if I may say, then we do provide bathing facilities too," the woman smiled—so professionally it made Leon wonder if she had forgotten how to make a normal expression. "We get lots of people coming to try out the artefacts, so we built such facilities for them."

"But it isn’t free?" Silver asked, tilting her head.

"Yes, but if you make a purchase, it is absolutely free," the woman replied, still smiling, and stood up. "I’ll lead you there."

Leon then had a nice bath in their facilities, which seemed to wash away most of his fatigue, something that genuinely surprised him. It also made him realize why they charged money for it.

They even provided the facility to wash and clean your clothes instantly, so even Silver took a nice bath.

After half an hour, both of them walked out of the pavilion hand in hand, completely refreshed. They decided to give the pavilion good reviews on the internet.

After all, they treated every customer—even if they just came to buy Tier 1 weapons—so politely and didn’t discriminate. It was something that should have been the bare minimum, but many stores still failed to do that.

The sun had already hidden itself below the horizon, and now only the last few rays of it colored the beautiful sky orange. The ambient atmosphere made Leon feel relaxed.

He talked about random topics with Silver, which made him even more fond of this cute bundle of mischief.

There were many students wandering around in the lively market, filled with colorful neon lights, making it the busiest time of the day.

Leon chose one of the best restaurants on campus and led Silver there. As for the lady herself, she felt a little useless and wondered who the real dominant partner between them was.

Normally, it should be her taking the initiative—as a girl—yet here she was, completely being led by the nose by the love of her life.

She smiled and thought, looking at his mesmerizing wide profile, ’Surprisingly, I’m enjoying this even more. If he wants to be the dominant one, then so be it. Hehe! It’s actually quite exciting.’

Leon turned his head when he heard cute giggles and found the silver-haired beauty laughing in her own delusions.

Her happiness was contagious, and his lips curled up into a smile. He finally felt some real connection with this game world turned reality.

Ever since he had been reborn, he hadn’t even gotten proper time to rest his mind and think about himself for a second. He was always in a heightened state, worrying about his mental health, the dying state of the world, and so much more.

But for the first time, he truly felt relaxed and connected to this world. He felt as if he belonged in this game world.

With those thoughts, they entered the restaurant and chose a private room, as they didn’t want to be disturbed.

There, they had a delicious dinner in a chill atmosphere that made both of them smile.

Neither of them expected their first date to go so smoothly but it did. Perhaps it was because they were already very close to each other, and today, they had just put a proper tag on their relationship.

As they were eating dessert, Silver remembered something and asked, her voice turning serious for the first time, "Leo, can I ask you something?"

"Yes?" Leon sensed the change in her tone and put down the spoon.

Silver considered her words for a while before asking, "Will you have more wives?"

’I guess I really have to face this early on,’ Leon sighed and asked, "What do you want?"

Truth be told, Leon was fine with having Silver as his only wife. As much as he loved the idea of having a harem with his favorite characters, it was all just fantasy in the end.

While the person sitting before him was a real person with her own feelings. He didn’t want to hurt her, and if it meant he had to give up on his fantasies, he would gladly do so.

He would rather be loyal to one than be disloyal to all.

Silver chuckled hearing him, "You’re supposed to answer it, dummy!"

"But I want your true opinion. I know that if I said anything, it’ll heavily affect your words," Leon said with all seriousness as he grabbed her hand.

He knew this girl very well. If he said he wanted a harem, then she would just laugh it off, saying that she also wanted that—just because he wanted it.

She was so selflessly devoted to their love... so how could he betray her?

Silver stared into his eyes and her mouth hung open slightly. Then, a small, beautiful smile formed on her lips as she said, "You truly are amazing, Leo. As expected of the man I chose."

"So I’m amazing because you chose me, not because of who I am?" Leon scoffed.

"Exactly!" Silver laughed, making Leon laugh too.

After a while, she calmed down and said, "To be honest, I never thought this day would ever come. I was just a street rat... but I did dream about it, because that’s what you taught me. To always dream big and work your ass off to achieve it."

Leon smiled, because that certainly sounded like something he would say. He had done the same, after all.

She chuckled again as she remembered something and said, "Back then, I used to hear a lot of things from people surrounding us, and that’s where I had a dream...a dream I didn’t think I’d be a part of."
