My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me! -
Chapter 473: Only Just Realized
Chapter 473: Chapter 473: Only Just Realized
Wen Ran looked at him, but her gaze was much colder than before: "So what if I’m upset? What makes you think I’d greet you with a smile when you’re keeping in touch with Jiang Wan Ning?"
The man raised his eyebrows slightly: "Are you jealous?"
"It’s not jealousy, it’s just simple annoyance. You’re obviously my husband, yet you prefer to trust Jiang Wan Ning over me. How can that make me happy?"
"When did I prefer trusting her over you?"
Her gaze was somewhat stubborn, with a hint of being hurt: "You just said I think of your Wan Ning too complicatedly. Isn’t that preferring to trust her?"
Fu Chenlie had a gloomy face, not speaking for a long time.
This silence, to Wen Ran, was an acquiescence.
She softly curled her lips, the curve so faint he might not have noticed.
Then, the woman turned around and closed her eyes.
Fu Chenlie quickly embraced her, his voice carrying a trace of coaxing: "Alright, let’s not argue. Didn’t we say? We’ll talk after confirming her illness on Friday."
Calming things down is just an approach, unrelated to trust.
In disputes, a good attitude is important, but trust is a matter of principle.
Wen Ran didn’t speak.
The man turned off the bedroom lights, and in the dark, kissed her hair, his voice deep saying "Goodnight."
...
The next day, Wen Ran and Fu Chenlie went to work together.
The new driver started working.
She didn’t need to sit in the driver’s seat and drive anymore.
She and Fu Chenlie sat together in the back seat, from getting into the car to driving out of the Huan Island Villa, both remained silent.
Actually, tracing back even further, today’s breakfast time in the dining room was much quieter than usual.
Wen Ran, in the car, deliberately sat very close to the window, keeping her face toward the outside, trying her best to ignore Fu Chenlie, still holding resentment in her heart, unwilling to speak to him, not even one word.
However, Fu Chenlie clearly didn’t see it that way.
He maintained a prim and proper posture throughout, occasionally glancing at the woman beside him, realizing she seemed to have no intention to talk to him, his expressionless face turning colder.
After the car had traveled about a third of the distance, the man finally stared at Wen Ran and spoke: "You’ve traveled this road countless times; shouldn’t you be tired of the scenery outside by now? Why keep staring? Isn’t your neck getting sore?"
A string of questions.
Wen Ran heard them all but did not turn her head.
She replied blandly: "Used to be the driver, needing to focus on driving with no time to look at the scenery. Now finally free, naturally, I have to take a good look."
Speaking here, she smiled ambiguously: "Sometimes, without looking closely, you don’t realize the scenery was really like this; previously thought it was much better."
This sounded odd; Fu Chenlie frowned: "What do you mean?"
Wen Ran finally turned around: "I think looking at the scenery is like looking at people. When not seen clearly, it seems great, but looking closely, you realize it’s just so-so. What do you think?"
"Is Madam subtly scolding me?"
"In a complete sentence, did I use half a curse word?"
He pulled her hand, intending to kiss it, but Wen Ran suddenly withdrew it forcefully.
The man’s handsome face turned gloomy, his gaze even more aggressive.
Wen Ran couldn’t withstand the overpowering gaze, casually explained: "Didn’t wash hands after breakfast, not clean, better not touch, lest pass bacteria to you, causing you to get sick."
