Chapter 472: Do you trust her that much?
Chapter 472: Chapter 472: Do you trust her that much?
Wen Ran finished speaking, eagerly looking at him, waiting for an answer.
She originally thought Fu Chenlie would tell her how he would choose, or at least say something to comfort her.
But instead, that man just gave her a very dismissive judgment in response to her questions and worries: "You’re overthinking."
Overthinking?
Wen Ran chuckled, "Is it that you don’t want to answer my question, or am I thinking too much?"
"Things are not as troublesome as you imagine," he said.
She suddenly felt a bit panicked, grabbing his arm, stubbornly demanding, "What if things are as troublesome as I imagined? Would you ignore Jiang Wan Ning for me?"
Fu Chenlie gently stroked her hair, seemingly patiently speaking: "Alright, nothing has happened yet, don’t trouble yourself unnecessarily."
For Wen Ran, no matter the attitude, what comes out of one’s mouth and actions are the most real and credible.
She stared at him silently for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled: "Do you think I’m being unreasonable now? Just not wanting to let you have peace, constantly causing you trouble?"
"No."
"Do you also think that compared to me, Jiang Wan Ning is much more considerate, after all, she even hid her illness from you to avoid morally pressuring you, and you had to learn about it from Xu Tong?"
The man heard her say this, frowned: "Ranran, I don’t think you’re troublesome or difficult, but it is a fact that Wan Ning hid her illness from me when she left, isn’t it?"
Wen Ran chuckled lightly: "How do you know this is the truth? Just because you had the chance to see that letter through Xu Tong? Can’t they act out a play for you together?"
"Wan Ning isn’t that kind of person, you’re imagining things to be too complicated."
"What methods haven’t you seen in the business world, why do you think it’s impossible with Jiang Wan Ning? Do you trust her that much?"
Fu Chenlie didn’t know why she was so aggressive today.
His dark eyes stared at her, answering her question with another question: "If it were you, would you distrust the benefactor who once risked their life to save you?"
Her lips curled: "If it were me, I would never criticize my husband for another man."
After speaking, she withdrew her hand from the man’s waist, turned away with her back to him: "I’m going to sleep."
No amount of argument would help.
Because Wen Ran had already seen clearly—
He instinctively believed Jiang Wan Ning to be a kind and honest woman, whereas she, as Mrs. Fu, was troublesome, petty, and didn’t know how to empathize with her husband.
Fu Chenlie’s arms suddenly emptied, his gaze subconsciously followed Wen Ran’s figure, watching her turn around and curl herself into a small ball, feeling frustrated.
He approached her, reached out to hold her waist: "Madam, I don’t want to waste time on meaningless arguments, no matter what, let’s wait until Friday when I confirm Wan Ning’s condition before discussing, okay?"
Wen Ran murmured, "Hmm."
The man turned her body around, pinched her chin, leaned in towards her lips, wanting to kiss.
But Wen Ran turned her face away to avoid it.
His movements halted, his dark eyes stared at her, scrutinizing her.
After a few seconds, Fu Chenlie spoke: "What’s wrong?"
"Tired."
"Is it that you’re tired, or are you upset?"
Wen Ran felt a little amused.
Since he didn’t care about her, why bother to show concern whether she was happy or not?!
