My Pregnant Contract Wife Ran Away from Me! -
Chapter 354: What, Want to Play?
Chapter 354: Chapter 354: What, Want to Play?
This question was something Wen Ran really hadn’t thought about before.
She chuckled, looking at the man and countering with a question instead of answering: "Understanding someone should develop gradually over daily interactions, shouldn’t it? There’s no specific timeline for it."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah."
He softly let out a "hmm" and said unhurriedly, "In any case, the way Mrs. Fu describes my thoughts—your accuracy is quite impressive. Your understanding of me has exceeded my expectations."
"Well, since we live under the same roof and spend every single day together, it’s only natural that I understand you."
Fu Chenlie’s lips curved slightly: "It’s possible?"
She answered with certainty, "That’s exactly how it is."
He smiled but didn’t say anything more.
Half an hour later, the two arrived at the mall.
Wen Ran and Fu Chenlie entered the mall from the underground parking garage and came in directly on the basement level.
As they were about to head up to the first floor, Wen Ran noticed a claw machine placed not far from the escalator. She stopped in her tracks, glancing at it for a while.
Fu Chenlie noticed her expression and raised an eyebrow slightly: "What, want to play?"
"Do you know how to grab a toy?"
"Nope."
Wen Ran, "..."
He really admitted so easily that he didn’t know how?
At times like this, shouldn’t most men confidently say, "Of course!" and then go grab a toy to show off their skills by catching one in a single try?
How could Fu Chenlie, as a dignified CEO, say "nope" so matter-of-factly?
With that response, how was she supposed to enjoy the game?
Thinking about it, Wen Ran pressed on, "Then do you want to play?"
"Not really."
"Why not?"
"It’s an artificially rigged, boring game, just a money trap—not much fun."
Wen Ran let out a soft "oh" and reluctantly kept gazing at the claw machine: "But I want to play."
"Then go play."
"Okay!"
The two of them walked over to the claw machine area together. Fu Chenlie scanned the code to exchange for game coins.
Wen Ran glanced at him suspiciously: "You said you didn’t know how to play, so how do you know how to exchange coins?"
He chuckled lightly and said, rather smugly, "I’ve never played before, but that doesn’t mean I can’t read. Can’t you see the instructions on the machine? They’re pretty clear."
Following his gaze, she looked at the machine and saw the simple and straightforward step-by-step guide for exchanging coins. She gave a soft "oh" in response.
Fu Chenlie exchanged 20 coins, then took her hand and placed the coins into her palm: "Go ahead, play."
She smiled lightly, "Alright."
With that, Wen Ran walked to the machine that held the toy she wanted most, inserted a coin, and began playing.
She maneuvered the controls, timed her move, and pressed the button. The claw grabbed the toy, and just as it was about to move toward the prize slot, the claw loosened, and the toy dropped back into the machine.
Across the glass, Wen Ran felt a wave of frustration.
Fu Chenlie watched her expression shift from hopeful to dejected and couldn’t help but smile slightly: "Keep going; there are still plenty of coins."
"Alright, I’ll try again." She nodded and proceeded to try a second, third, and fourth time... but even after the 19th try, she hadn’t caught anything.
Wen Ran hung her head, looking defeated: "I wasted so much money."
"Keep going—there’s still one last coin," he encouraged.
"I don’t want to play anymore."
With that, she handed the final coin to Fu Chenlie: "You take the last chance."
He kept his usual composed expression and said, "I don’t know how."
"It’s just one turn and one press. Just wing it."
"Alright, fine."
With that, the man tossed the game coin into the machine, glanced at the bunny plush toy Wen Ran had tried 19 times to grab, turned the control knob, and pressed the button...
