Chapter 924: 314. Call from the Swamp_2

"Everyone is outside waiting to back us up,"

Brother Fu said to the few unlucky ones trapped:

"Can you still walk? Hurry up and follow me to break through; there are too many skeleton soldiers here, and more of the skeleton army is coming from the woods to reinforce them. We are outnumbered; we need to push through."

"If breaking through was that easy, we would have charged out already. Let me tell you, I found something inside."

Ayu reported his scouting findings to Little Brother Fu, and upon hearing about a camp guarded by skeleton soldiers, Little Brother Fu’s eyebrows twitched in interest.

It was then that Life is pretty good suddenly spoke:

"That must be the command center for this skeleton army! Creatures like skeleton soldiers, being the lowest level of undead, have no capacity to think. They require someone to direct them to display such fierce and well-coordinated attacks. There must be something in that camp!

Seizing it might just allow us to defeat the overwhelming skeleton forces in Smugglers’ Forest."

"What? Is that so?"

Cheche, being a psychic, widened his eyes in surprise. He sized up Life is pretty good and asked:

"Bro, where did you learn all this?"

"The ’Book of Midnight’ by Lady Cui Si has a section on undead creatures, but it’s a pity that when I changed my profession, I chose Cunning Magician instead of the undead-aligned Coffin Bearer."

Life is pretty good sighed with some regret and continued:

"Otherwise, this field full of elite skeletons would be excellent material for undead servants. Nevertheless, it’s just a suggestion; charging against this elite skeleton army under these circumstances is undoubtedly dangerous. However, if we retreat now, finding such an opportunity again won’t be easy. Now that those hidden guys have been discovered, they will surely relocate."

"Then what’s there to discuss? Charge! At worst, we get banned for three days. Guys who break through, remember to grab our fallen comrades’ gear and take it with you."

Bull Bull stood up, holding his shield.

He wasn’t really afraid of the skeletons; his Military Governor flail and bone shield set, with its Bloodlust Skill and a Life Drain attack effect from a barbaric ritual, was enough to let him transform into a berserker and fight his way out in extreme situations.

If it weren’t for these clowns dragging behind him, Bull Bull would have killed his way out alone long ago.

Now with support arriving, he flexed the Blood wings unfolded behind him and glanced at the gloomy sky above the woods. He said:

"Since we’ve stumbled upon this random event, not securing the key mission item would be laughable. Little Brother Fu, do me a favor and make another run. Tell the brothers outside to add some pressure on the skeleton army commanders. We vampires who can fly will make a detour from behind.

This wave should squarely deal with those misbehaving scoundrels."

"Alright."

Little Brother Fu didn’t mind making another run. After all, riding a Scorpion Lion through the air, it wasn’t just skeleton bone arrows that would have trouble hitting him—psychic spells would likely miss too.

"Old Huo, hurry and come with me."

Touching Your Poverty mounted the Scorpion Lion and yelled at his good buddy:

"Your level is too low, staying here is useless and will only hold the rest of us back."

"Nonsense! I am a Cunning Magician, alright? I might not be as strong in direct combat, but I have plenty of tricks for survival. Worry about yourself."

Life is pretty good waved his hand without looking back, signaling Little Brother Fu not to worry needlessly.

Then he waved his Magic Wand and cast a Dark Spell on himself, although not very adeptly—he messed up the incantation several times—but the spell worked quite well, blending him into the shadows around him, making it difficult for him to be seen or perceived.

The student players waited patiently and held the line.

In a somewhat morbid sense of humor, the trenches and positions they were holding were the same ones that Stick Brother had commanded them to dig as an ambush for the convoy before, and it turned out the place came in handy once again.

"We are coming! Get ready to charge!"

After a grueling ten minutes or so, Little Brother Fu’s voice came through the private chat channel, signaling that the students, who were already prepared, summoned their Blood wings. Soon, they heard the noisy shouts coming from a flank, and as the winds from the Spiritual Shock dispersed the War Fog, the reinforcements charging in howled as they arrived.

Leading them were three girls and the NPCs from the Blood Rat Gang, with new gamers who had recently joined the game following behind.

These newcomers, clad in basic gear and wielding Escort weapons, charged headlong in their first group fight, excited beyond measure and disorganized, but their chosen position was quite clever—they were right behind the skeleton army, charging headlong into the bowmen and skeleton Mages’ positions, interrupting their aerial blockade.

With a significant equipment advantage, Bull Bull was the first to fly out, braving the pecking of War Crows. The other student vampire players followed closely behind.

After their departure from the same position, several administrative brothers also prepared to break out. Half-Hanging Insurance handed a hunting gun to the son beside him and instructed Vomit Mud Sauce, then followed his four veteran guards out of the trench. Dump Truck and the shovel were quick to follow.

Although they were administrative personnel, they were also legitimate fighters who had participated in every major battle with Sir Morphy since the founding of Crimson Castle; they were not short on combat experience.

Moreover, the combined guards of these three amounted to twelve people, all veterans equipped with heavy-duty Protective gear, making the NPC forces strong in battle.
