Chapter 727: 248. This wave is simply divine help for me!_3
Murphy put away the Necessary Evil and said to the nervous little player in front of him:
"I can choose not to punish you, but you must make amends for Crimson Castle. Go to the Andma Hills and use your stealth skill that you’ve painstakingly practiced to gather evidence from Kenbort’s main camp, proving their collusion with the Wolf Poison Clan.
As long as you bring back enough information, your crime of breaking into the treasury will be forgotten."
"Ding"
The sound of triggering a hidden task made Frostfang’s Claw sigh.
Receiving a hidden mission was supposed to be a good thing, but he couldn’t feel happy about it, alas, the NPCs in this game were too cunning. Who would have thought his own mentor would set him up?
Sure enough, his life’s principle of the past twenty years was right: too much interaction with others can only bring misfortune!
---
"Your name is Hog? You reported to my guards just now that you control a passage that can smuggle into the Crimson Castle?"
In the main tent of the wolf people in the Andma Hills, Clan Leader Kenbort looked sceptically at the slim member of his clan standing before him.
The fellow was too weak.
He might be suffering from some disease. This kind of individual would be considered a bad omen in the wolf clans of the Dark Mountain Range and would be strangled at birth. Only in such a remote place as Transylvania could individuals like this survive.
As a clan leader, he didn’t want to receive such individuals, but Hog’s mixed-race fur from the Moss Valley gave him a chance to be received.
Even in wolf people’s society, "geographical discrimination" exists.
The wolf man from the Dark Mountain Range was the boss, the inferior breed from Transylvania had to bear with it!
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Hog, with fear all over his face, was lying under Kenbort’s "throne" made of lynx and bear bones.
He didn’t hide anything, and told the whole story of being sent by Kenbort to recruit wolf people from the southern region some time ago, how he was captured, thrown into the vampire’s arena, and his conspiracy to escape.
Using a bit of linguistic skill, like a real wolf man, he blurted out chaotic sentences.
But Kenbort understood.
Especially after hearing that Hog escaped through a hidden water route beneath the Crimson Castle, the clan leader wolf man’s ruthless green eyes immediately flashed a cunning light.
He realized that he now had information on hand that could satisfy Colando and shut his mouth at the same time.
Colando’s intention to use the wolf people to attack the Blood Vulture Clan was obvious, but Kenbort wasn’t a fool. He came to Transylvania with the "important mission" from the Bonebite Clan, and the army he assembled wasn’t for the bloody ambition of some vampire.
His consideration should be the important task entrusted by the clan to form a force in Transylvania and cooperate with his superior. Also, to destroy the defense of Transylvania and the surrounding areas before the Black Disaster officially happened.
Even the wolf men despised the idea of serving the Wolf Poison vampire with their own subordinates.
"Good! Very good! Excellent!"
Kenbort stood up, satisfied.
He circled around the trembling Hog a few times, seeing the undeniable slave mark of shame on his back and the various wounds on his fur.
Obviously, they were the result of a bitter battle.
This small weakling wasn’t lying, and he didn’t dare deceive him either.
"Do you still remember that route? Can you guide people to it?"
Kenbort asked in a low voice.
Hog hesitated for a moment, then nodded vigorously.
"Very well, wait here."
The clan leader called in his elite Barbarian Soldiers to bring Colando over. He then whispered a plan to Hog:
"You will retrace your steps with the Wolf Poison vampires..."
"Your Majesty! I will die! Your Majesty."
Hearing this, Hog was frightened and hugged Kenbort’s hairy leg tightly, weakly screaming:
"I barely escaped with my life, don’t send me back to my death, my King, in the blood of the Moss Valley that I carry!
I am wholeheartedly loyal to you, my King."
"No one’s asking you to go to your death!"
Kenbort had little respect for this timid creature, but needed him right now so he "kindly" reassured him:
"Just lead them to the entrance, they’ll navigate the rest of the way themselves. If you silence the opposition, you’ll have done a great service. Didn’t you say one of my captains rudely took your clan from you?
Well, I’ll give your people back to you, appoint you a captain, and grant you some females. You appear weak, but you take pride in your lineage from the Moss Valley, don’t you?
When the great Black Disaster arrives, I can take you back to the sacred land!
Don’t you want to return?"
"I do! I dream of it. Before he died, my father was still describing to me the grandeur of the sacred land..."
Hog swallowed a lump in his throat, seemingly swayed by the words.
After repeated hesitation, it finally mustered the resolution to nod emphatically.
"Very well, prepare yourself, Hog."
Kenbort waved his claw, permitting the wretched creature to leave his tent. A few minutes later, Colando reappeared before Kenbort in his shadowy form.
This time the Wolf People warlord seemed quite confident, he sat on his bone throne, boastfully addressing his ally:
"Many of my elite soldiers have been sacrificed, but at last, we’ve found a secret passage leading directly into the Crimson Castle, Colando. I’m not as dishonorable as you might think, I also have the virtue of honoring contracts.
I can, of course, disclose this secret passage to you and assign people to assist you in obliterating the Blood Vulture Clan.
But I want to strike a deal with you."
Upon seeing the confident Wolf Person, a thought struck Colando.
Vampires excel at decapitation strikes. If there is indeed a path that allows infiltrating the enemy’s base, coupled with enough cannon fodder, he could assassinate the enemy chieftain himself.
As far as he knew, the Clan Leader of Blood Vulture Clan, Salockdale, had been killed by witch hunters, and the current Governor of the Transylvania area was a mere vampire of the Black Iron Rank. The Thorn Clan was also feasting on the Blood Vulture’s traitors. This meant that the Blood Vulture Clan no longer had the strength to maintain its rule.
This was the most vulnerable time for the Transylvanian clan.
They had even dispatched new recruits to the battlefield; they no longer had more troops to defend their headquarters.
Most importantly, collaborating with the Wolf People would indeed be convenient, but news of this alliance could be problematic.
If he could destroy the last resilient Blood Vulture himself, he wouldn’t mind a little physical pursuit.
"Speak!"
Colando coldly answered. Kenbort did not mind his rudeness. The warlord continued:
"The Kato area! I know that the Wolf Poison Clan has chosen that as your second base. Help the Bonebite Clan open the portal to the Kato area. After our forces enter the continent, we can ignore the defences your faction is responsible for.
All I want is to destroy it, everything left in the ruins will be yours.
Since you’ve already collaborated with us, why not take it one step further?
You see, no matter how powerful, the Black Disaster will eventually fade. Even an ambitious wolf like you wouldn’t want to always live under your Clan Leader, right?
Don’t you want to establish your own clan?
Once we retreat, both Transylvania and the Kato region will be yours."
"How do you know the Wolf Poison Clan’s defence plan in the Kato area?!"
"That’s not your concern. We Wolf People have our own friends and they are powerful!
Give me your defence map of the Kato area! I can not only help you destroy the Blood Vulture! I can also help you eliminate those so-called ’kin’ competitors! And all you have to lose is a ’carelessly misplaced’ defence map."
"Hmph, easier said than done. I’ll think about it."
