Chapter 726: 248. This wave is simply divine help for me!_2

"Don’t call me ’Ya Ya’!"

Despite his social anxiety, Frostfang’s Claw is a full-grown man, and he’s not used to being called such a cute nickname. He waives it off and says:

"I haven’t made up my mind yet. But being a vampire is too conspicuous, it doesn’t really suit me."

"Oh, no! That won’t do!"

Doris strides forward, laughing heartily and confidently placing an arm on the apprentice’s shoulder. She says:

"I just got a job from Lady Adel, and I still need your help. It just so happens that we can deal with your Black Iron Trial during this venture. How’s your progress on your thieving and lock picking skills?"

Frostfang’s Claw glances at his character’s profile and replies:

"Thieving at the expertise level, lock picking is already at master level."

"Ha! I knew you had talent."

Doris raises an eyebrow and says:

"We’re going to accompany three other descendants of Lady Adel to the Andma Hills for a reconnaissance mission at the main camp of the Wolf People.

This mission is quite dangerous.

We need to find somewhere for you to practice first. I’ve heard there’s a secret treasure vault in the Blood Eagle Corridor...

I wouldn’t even have dreamt of going there before, but now that I am a member of the Blood Vultures too, it’s only right for me to visit the family’s sacred place.

Of course, I can walk in big and bold, but you have to sneak in without being discovered.

If you can do this, I will teach you the ’Shadow Flee Skill’!

This is a legitimate secret technique that I learned from a Half-body Man, a master thief in the Adventurer’s Association, after a long time of studying with him!

What do you say?

I promised I wouldn’t treat one of our own unfairly."

---

Thirty minutes later, Murphy, who was practicing his swordsmanship with Necessary Evil, suddenly hears a loud boom from the corridor below, followed by a harsh Spiritual Energy shock-wave.

It was the signal that the treasure vault was breached, the anti-theft Spiritual Energy formation Cui Si had set up was triggered.

What?

Has the main camp been infiltrated?

Or did a Wolf Poison Night Walker crept in?

Morphy raises an eyebrow, grabs Necessary Evil in mid-air and rushes over.

Once he gets there, he sees a player dressed in Night Walker gear, suspended in the air by a dense, web-like, purple Spiritual Energy chain, unable to move. The thief tools for picking locks were still in his hand.

And most shockingly, three layers of the seven-layer Spiritual Energy+Mechanical password locks in front of the treasure vault had been cracked.

Luckily, Cui Si thoughtfully rearranged the Spiritual Energy traps in the treasure vault after becoming the Grand Duke, otherwise, they would have been broken through by this audacious little thief.

But what surprised Murphy is that although this young player is level 10, he hasn’t passed the Black Iron Trial. So how had he managed to sneak in amidst the strict patrols and surveillance? From where does he derive the courage to intrude into the Blood Eagle Corridor alone?

Have the guards Cui Si arranged been slacking off on the job?

Or is this guy genuinely gifted in the art of thievery?

With that question in mind, Murphy goes forward, extends his hand to pull down the scarf that Frostfang’s Claw was wearing over his face, revealing his handsome features.

His features are fairly neutral. Despite looking very young, there is an odd sense of wisdom about him. When Morphy touches his Calculating Pearl, he extracts this little guy’s character information:

Tester ID: Frostfang’s Claw

Rank: 10-Level Professional

Profession: 10-Level Thief/10-Level Wanderer/Master Identifier with an Archaeology Specialization

Character Skills: [Double Dexterity], [Golden Eyes: Long-term engagement in archaeological work allows for a swift judgment of the value and authenticity of items], [Social Phobia: Strong resistance to engaging with others, long-term efforts have been made to lower his presence, thus reducing the likelihood of being perceived by others].

These three character skills made Murphy’s heart skip a beat.

Chao!

Could it be that they’ve recruited a thief?

He then oddly opened his admin system and looked through the application of the guy in front of him and breathed a sigh of relief.

The good news is, this guy has no records of engaging in illegal activities, so Morphy doesn’t have to worry about how to contact the local police officers.

The bad news is, he’s actually an "official" staff member, a core member of an archaeology team in a certain province in the Midwest. Having participated in several large tomb excavations, he has a small reputation in the field.

No wonder he was allowed into the game, the guy is truly talented.

"Young man..."

With a stern face, Murphy releases the thoroughly embarrassed Frostfang’s Claw from his magical restraint. Patting the young player’s shoulder, he says:

"Do you know, your actions just now breached a serious rule of the Blood Vulture Clan. I should probably tie you to a cross to bear the scorching sunlight."

"Gulp"

Ya Ya swallowed a mouthful of saliva and stuttered:

"This... this is my job mission! Sir Morphy, I didn’t want to do it, but my... my tutor set me up!"

"Hmm?"

Morphy squinted his eyes.

He noticed the claw knife hanging from Frostfang’s Claw’s waist, a weapon only used by the Rat Gang in his territory.

He instantly realizes that this must be Razor Doris’s modest "protest" against Adel’s forceful early adopters. That cunning lady thief knows that Morphy wouldn’t actually punish his warrior.

Clearly, this was a prank.

The Frostfang’s Claw in front of him was indeed trapped by the NPC. It seemed he didn’t have a clear concept of the "danger" in this game.

"Well, you are quite naive, no wonder you got taken advantage of."
