Chapter 1632: 547. Murphy the Line-Stealer: My open arms reward friends and chill the hearts of foes_4

Murphy didn’t retaliate but instead gripped his sword-staff and put on a composed front. After all, he had come as an envoy. He immediately adopted the arrogance of the Old Blood race’s Night Flag lineage and coldly reprimanded:

"The Blood Fear Clan has been exiled for 200 years—have all ancient traditions been forgotten? Two esteemed members of the Blood race have arrived carrying the goodwill of salvation, yet why hasn’t he come out to greet us? Do pirates think they’re fools? Honestly... you’ve thrown away every ounce of dignity the Blood race has ever had!"

"Peh!"

The deranged old sea dog licking his blade shot Murphy a hostile glare and spat crudely near his feet before sneering:

"Figures. Landlubbers only know how to talk big—bullshit traditions! While I wasn’t born a vampire, even I remember your people didn’t seem this ’graceful’ when you exiled us back then. Now you come here lecturing us on traditions?

You filthy bastards, who the hell would ever want to—"

"Ahem, I advise you to think carefully before finishing that statement, my overly uncouth comrade."

Andre’s eerily calm voice rang out as the cold edge of his Grey Claw blade pressed against the throat of the crude pirate. A moment ago, the pirate had been openly aggressive, but now he quickly raised both hands.

His surrender posture was alarmingly precise—no doubt it was well-practiced.

"Um... the Captain is in the room messing around with the First Mate. If you need him, go ahead yourselves—I wouldn’t dare disturb his fun."

The old sea dog muttered in a low voice:

"Rules are rules in the Blood Fear Clan. We’re unlike you landlubber ducks, so, could you... er, kindly move that dangerous sword away? You see, I’m so scared I almost pissed myself."

"Disgusting!"

Count Bai of White Mountain withdrew his blade with an expression of sheer contempt, while Murphy soothed the snarling Star Realm head wolf at his feet—its mere presence was enough to send shivers down the spines of the sea dogs.

Murphy paid no further heed to these despicable, two-faced creatures. Together with Andre, he strode toward the fortress room. They hadn’t gotten far when the unmistakable sounds of a woman’s piercing, uninhibited shrieks and a man’s heavy breathing reached their ears.

The two distinguished visitors exchanged a glance.

They suddenly realized their understanding of the Blood Fear Clan was still rooted in what they knew from 200 years ago.

Ah, 200 years—more than enough time for everything to change.

"Slam!"

The door swung open. A middle-aged vampire sporting a scruffy beard and a black pirate captain’s hat leaned against the doorway, holding half a bottle of liquor. He looked at the two extravagantly dressed fellow vampires in front of him. Behind him, a stark naked female vampire wearing a pirate hat casually draped herself in a bed sheet and sauntered toward the balcony, utterly indifferent to her exposed skin.

"So, are you here to rescue me?"

The man took another swig of wine, his drunken voice slurring:

"How much is my sorry life worth? If it’s too expensive, forget it. And by the way, this kind of thing should always be discussed beforehand—you know, to avoid any squabbling over debts later."

"Well... before we get to that."

Murphy glanced downward briefly before he and Andre turned away in gentlemanly fashion, saying:

"Could you kindly put some trousers on first? I understand—that thing being small isn’t your fault, sir. But having it flaunted around isn’t exactly dignified, wouldn’t you agree?"

"Hahahaha!"

The surrounding sea dogs erupted into raucous laughter and whistles.

These bastards suddenly found themselves liking this young vampire aristocrat. Well, well—look at that little white-faced landlubber. Turns out he’s got the kind of biting wit you’d expect from a true man who braves the seas! Look here, the Captain’s face has turned green with rage.

How satisfying!
