Chapter 1562: 525. Lord Qin, do you want a bromance? - [Monthly Ticket Bonus Chapter 7/10]

At this moment of farewell, hearing Dust Beater speak recklessly made the Pallian Sisters blush.

Amid the peculiar laughter and whistles of veteran players watching nearby, using the playful gesture of "little fists pounding your chest," they completed their final goodbye with Dust Beater. Then, under the summons of the clearly displeased Mrs. Pallian, they headed to the mercantile caravan.

The Brick Mover and Samoyed Syria chuckled as they stood beside Dust Beater, patting their tearful junior on the shoulders.

They were so deeply invested in Dust Beater’s emotional progress—now that they had witnessed its culmination, they naturally wore strange maternal-like smiles.

Murphy and Milian remained where they stood, watching the convoy slowly depart. Together with the surrounding players, they stood in the cold night wind, listening to the children inside the caravan singing local ballads, watching them disappear into the distance.

"Hey! You three little fools! Your Brother Chicken couldn’t make it because he has passed away, but he told me to let you know—he’ll come see you in Charldo Harbor for sure!"

Traveler Little Zhou waved at the three rugged-looking boys crying loudly at the back of the caravan and shouted:

"Go study hard there—don’t bring disgrace to Brother Chicken!"

"Sister Lumina will come to visit you too, so make sure to behave yourselves."

Meng HaHa, representing the Silver Moon Pride Team for the farewell, cupped his hands around his mouth and called out. The children Lumina rescued responded loudly in the darkness.

The old-timer Mud Car Iaido, who had managed these kids back in the survivor camp days, was only focused on waving. The flood of emotions from middle age overwhelmed him, leaving him unwilling to speak for fear of breaking into tears.

Brother Fully Covered Semi-Trailer patted Mud Car Iaido on the shoulder, while Brother Shovel played a flute by the roadside, earnestly performing the melody of "Farewell."

But, as soon as he started playing, many administrative players began wiping their eyes.

All of this fell into Murphy’s gaze as he observed them quietly, satisfied as the Governor.

On the way back to the city with Milian, he looked at Crimson Castle under the night sky and said to Milian:

"They... are already qualified Transia People now, just like me."

"You know, I used to not quite understand why you insisted on having your warriors interact with the locals so much. They’re from two different worlds—there’s no chance of deeper connections for a lifetime."

Milian flicked her hair, then laughed softly and said, "Now I understand. You’ve taught me another lesson, Governor."

"Hmph, that’s because you’re foolish, my dear Regent."

Murphy leaned against the carriage, gazing out of the window, and said:

"A group of mercenaries who speak only of interests versus a group of warriors willing to sacrifice everything for their second homeland—anyone with half a brain knows which to choose.

If you bind them solely with interests, then ultimately, all that remains between you will be cold transactions. When you can no longer offer rewards, they’ll abandon you—or even draw their swords against you—without any hesitation.

But emotions...

They are invisible chains."

The Vampire Governor chuckled. After several seconds of silence, he added:

"Actually, from the very start, I never wanted the so-called ’Fourth Calamity.’ You, as a forum administrator, know full well what that term represents. If I had wanted it, I had countless ways in the last four months to swiftly assemble a ’Maniacal Army.’

They would destroy all my enemies for me, even fearlessly invade the Dark Mountain Range—but they would also become a cancer unleashed onto this world by my own hands.

They’d become a new, even more terrifying ’Black Disaster.’

If I didn’t view this place as my home, if I didn’t view you all as friends, I wouldn’t feel this burden. Yet, Triss and all of you, like a web, turned me—a man who could have easily been the Apocalyptic Demon King—into the Governor of Transia.

I’ve grown accustomed to my life now.

If some group of twisted aberrations who see this place as their playground for reckless destruction ever emerged, I’d be the first to draw my sword and drive them out.

The wanton actions of different world people could turn this land into hell itself; therefore, I wouldn’t hesitate to exterminate those chaotic bastards who bring disaster and turmoil. But now, we can absolutely trust our morally ambiguous otherworldly friends.

Because we know that, like us protecting Transylvania, they would give their all for this land!

This might just be what they always call ’bond.’

Between the easy shortcut and the long, arduous journey, I chose the latter—and I don’t regret it. Because I’ve realized the creator may have chosen me for a reason, and it wasn’t merely a roll of the dice."

"You’re a good man, Murphy. Ever since that night you didn’t turn me into your Blood Servant, I’ve known I could trust you."

Milian softly said:

"Being a good person isn’t shameful. In fact, those who recklessly succumb to darkness are the ones unworthy of wielding extraordinary power."

"Indeed, there’s nothing easier in this world than becoming a villain. But choosing to live by your heart and staying true to yourself—that’s the hardest and greatest achievement of all."

Murphy laughed lightly. Glancing at Milian, he said:

"I’ll soon set out for Wasteland Mountain. Professor Malcolm is gone, and this will add weight to the burden on your shoulders once more. Are you ready for this?"

"Hey, I’m the Crimson Regent personally chosen by you! A role model for all Transia women."
