Chapter 1411: 476. Lame Claw and its "King of Bone Biting

"The second level is taken, but we’ve lost twenty men, almost all the reserves got wiped out. Is this intensity for real? Is this the kind of instance we’re supposed to be able to take on at this stage? Are the devs going nuts from overtime?"

On the frontlines of the Plague Town, Stick Brother exhausted and angry, looked at the north gate which just closed again, the thick barrier of Spiritual Energy blocking his view towards the town entirely.

Stick Brother was internally fuming, and his surviving companions exiting Plague Town seemed equally frustrated and in pain.

Their armors were marked with corrosive damage, and a few unlucky ones had terrifying scars from severe poison injuries, grimacing in pain, only able to move forward slowly with the help of others.

Meanwhile, Lin was holding a bunch of Spiritual Energy dog tags, which alone testified to the difficulty of today’s strategic challenge.

At least they could still leave alive, not having to endure the horrendous experience of a three-day disconnection.

As Stick Brother turned to look at the still-standing Wizard Tower at Plague Town, he thought about the building that was around five to six stories high. As levels increased, it certainly got less crowded, but reaching the second floor had already proved too much for them.

Whether it was equipment, strength, firepower, or tactical approach, viable options were severely limited facing this teeth-armed Spiritual Energy fortress. Just as Orchid had said, other than throwing lives at it, they didn’t seem to have any other method.

Stick Brother had even tried contacting the vanguards of the Goldenrod Kingdom to request artillery strikes against the Mage Tower. Colonel Fraser didn’t reject the idea and earnestly fired a round, but the effect was negligible, not exactly bad but barely making a dent.

That damned tower’s Spiritual Energy protection was as thick as a city wall. The small-caliber field artillery, even with direct hits, was hardly able to scratch it.

It’s still unclear on this continent whether Spiritual Energy or firepower reigns supreme, but it’s certain, at least based on the current level of steampunk technology, that it can’t overtake the advantages of Spiritual Energy in mysticism.

"Stick Brother, something’s off at the student faction’s line!"

Just as Stick Brother was about to log off to rest and take a bath for fatigue relief, his teammate, Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle, ran over rapidly and reported:

"Miss has had the Spiritual Energy counteraction on for twenty minutes already, but there’s absolutely no movement on their lines, not the Martial Monks nor those individual players temporarily attached to them.

It’s like they’ve given up on today’s strategy."

"What? Given up?"

Stick Brother’s eyes widened as he said:

"No way!

From what I know of those students, even if they surrender, they wouldn’t show it openly, their youthful pride would have them face arcane traps in a charge, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went for a human minesweep.

How can they give up like this?

Damn!

I know human minesweeping is hard, but isn’t six hours plenty of time? How can these guys just slack off at this point?"

"Boom"

Just when Stick Brother was perplexed, the sudden ground tremor nearly threw him off balance.

Stick Brother and Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle quickly ascended, and soon they saw the sudden commotion stirring up activity on all three fronts of Plague Town, especially on the western front where the student faction was,

from his vantage point, Stick Brother could clearly see players assembling there, it looked like they were planning to storm into Plague Town for today’s strategy.

But something was off!

"Boom"

A few seconds later, another violent tremor, even larger than before.

Stick Brother clearly saw soldiers from the Goldenrod running out from a fort with artillery, and even the Spiritual Energy barriers enshrouding Plague Town were visibly shaking, with Vampire Players ascending in the south line to investigate.

Continuous strange tremors seemed to indicate that something was about to happen.

"Something’s wrong!"

Stick Brother squinted and said:

"The trajectory of player activities on the western front doesn’t look right, they are forming a charging formation, they seem to have foreknowledge of something happening.

Damn!

What in the world did that student faction get up to?

Let’s go!

Head over and check!"

Stick Brother accelerated towards that direction with Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle closely following, but halfway through their flight, they heard a huge uproar coming from below, including the panicked screams of NPCs.

Especially those from Klim Fortress invited to observe, their screams the loudest, apparently witnessing something unbelievable.

"Holy shit! What is that?"

Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle’s scream also indicated that a truly bizarre entity had emerged, Stick Brother looked up to see a huge creature outline, like a walking mountain, appearing from the dense mists emanating from the eastern marshes of Plague Town.

Being too far to see the creature clearly, but even just the neck appearing from the mist was at least thirty meters high.

This sight made Stick Brother shiver.

He felt his megalophobia might erupt, and the next thought was that it was definitely something the student faction pulled off!

As a commander, he instantly understood what these guys were aiming for.

"Fuck! Driving wolves to devour tigers! Damn it!"

Stick Brother clenched his fist hard in the air, turning to Kind-Hearted Shark Uncle who was still capturing the scene with a Calculating Pearl, and shouted:
