Chapter 1313: 443. The Heiress’s Strategy in Dog Planner’s Copy Design - Additional Release [10/25]_3
Each weapon order required ten pioneer badges, and even with three perfect crates every time, it took three weeks to obtain a single weapon. Moreover, due to the damnable 100% reality restriction, Lady Triss couldn’t infinitely refresh these weapons.
After placing the order, it still required waiting one more week to collect the goods. Despite the cumbersome process, by now a batch of true hardcore players had gotten their hands on these weapons, and it was common to see these fellows flaunting their weapons on the streets of Crimson Castle every day.
Moreover, there were rumors now that if one hit the perfect three crates, there was a certain chance upon the BOSS to obtain blueprints of three rare weapons: "Flail·Biters," "Bone Shield·Clan Heart," and "Fist Blade·Wolf Fang."
These were all the personal weapons of the great warlord Kenbort, not only incredibly powerful attributes but also reinforced with the wolf people’s voodoo, making them in no way inferior to the crate weapons.
This rumor was not proven on the forums for a while until some busybodies repeatedly inquired of Brother Fa. Annoyed beyond measure, Brother Fa finally spoke the truth, admitting that these three items were indeed in the "drop list."
However, the drop rate was very low, appearing as "easter egg" weapons similar to "Reaper’s Scythe."
This stirred up even more excitement.
Since the "Rat King’s Doomsday" five-man instance, instance 002 had also become another destination for many luck-dependent parties to test their fortunes.
All in all, Murphy the Dog Planner was very satisfied with his design for the two instances to date. Apart from complaints about the difficulty, he had not received much criticism regarding the background stories and combat modes of the two instances.
He continued this approach in completing the background and stylistic design of instance 003, "Land of Rotting Corpses."
As for the specific combat mode of this instance, that wasn’t a problem for Murphy to consider.
Because the "combat design" of the new instance was the young lady’s job.
FeiFei, having been very unhappy with Murphy’s arrangements when attacking Kenbort, had taken up this task back then, and now, they were targeting the Pestilence Clan, which were skilled in Spiritual Energy—a field where Murphy was still weak.
Lord knew not to freely share opinions on matters he didn’t understand, to avoid mockery, so he confidently left the matter to the young lady.
She was the true Psychic Master of the Blood Vulture Clan, other than Triss, and she definitely had a precise strategy for dismantling the Psychic Defenses of the Pestilence Clan.
As Murphy had expected, when he brought up this issue, the young lady pulled out a rolled-up scroll from her Psychic package and unfolded it in front of Murphy.
It was a detailed topography of the area near Pestilence Town. The young lady had marked it with differently colored markers, and Murphy noticed that there were three different colors surrounding this town.
He raised his eyebrows, then heard the young lady say,
"These jackal warlocks are cunning. The small town they now occupy was an old camp established by Boris’s vanguard in the swamp during the second Black Disaster. The location was chosen with a siege in mind, being on higher ground within the swamp.
It makes it easy to defend but difficult to attack.
Also, it happens to block the path to the forbidden lands in the eastern part of the swamp, leaving us now only three directions to launch our attack."
FeiFei, leaning on her Night Howling Staff that was taller than she was, spoke earnestly,
"The trickiest part is that the wizard tower in Pestilence Town occupies one of the three Spiritual Energy nodes within the Polluted Swamp. This means that once the tower activates its defenses, it can continuously draw Spiritual Energy from the swamp.
Given its size, its Psychic Defense Line won’t be any weaker than ordinary city walls, making it difficult for us to break through quickly.
But the good news is that I’ve been studying that tower for the past few days. I found that it was built too early, and during the second Black Disaster, human knowledge of Psychic Energy was still rudimentary, so the defense system of this magician tower has significant flaws.
Simply put, the limit of Spiritual Energy it can summon is still within my handling capacity, so just one precise Psychic Countermeasure can temporarily overload the defense skill of the Mage Tower.
But each overload only lasts for a maximum of six hours."
FeiFei tapped her magic wand on the ground, emitting a delicate sound, and as the crimson glow at the tip pulsated, she lifted her head and said to Murphy,
"I’ve seen many warriors on the forums complain about the difficulties of distributing the spoils of war after each battle. Even an equal split leaves those who contributed more unsatisfied, so I decided to use this opportunity to give those players a chance to prove themselves.
Every time I complete the defensive countermeasures for the Mage Tower in Plague Town, I will allow one warrior guild to attempt to attack Plague Town. If they cannot finish the battle within six hours, they must retreat and give the chance to the next guild!
The condition for such warfare is that the warriors must clear the Skeleton Army fortifications around the town, so I have set up three directions of attack.
Not only does this avoid the problem of an attack being unable to proceed smoothly due to the breadth of the battlefield, but each attack direction also faces different types of enemies.
Using your thinking, it would be perfect to create three different ’mini-instance’ preparations. After breaching all three lines of defense, we can feature the tactics for Plague Town as the core content of the land of the decaying corpses.
By having players repeatedly attempt and expend the core strength of the Plague Werewolves, we will eventually weaken them to a certain limit, where finally a lucky guild will accomplish the slaying of Tear Flesh.
I learned a new term on the forums; we need to create an ’instance group’!
An internal healthy competition where warriors can participate as guilds, not necessarily altogether! It will be a highly flexible trial, and as long as it’s within my capabilities, I will provide all the support and help they need.
If they are willing to spend time helping us take over the other two Spiritual Energy nodes within the swamp range, Triss and I can also provide them with different power status boosts.
That’s my strategy and design concept."
She looked at Murphy and asked,
"What do you think?"
"Your performance at critical moments always amazes me,"
Murphy marveled and said,
"You really are a genius in this respect, my dear FeiFei. It seems that you are the one who should take the lead in the development team in the future. Ah, I’m getting old, I can’t keep up with the times anymore. From now on, it’s the era of you young people."
"Be serious, Murphy."
The young lady rolled her eyes and said,
"I just gathered their imaginative ideas from the pubs on the forums, but truly, this activity is quite interesting. I had never thought that a war could have so many different options.
But this plan can only be effective against the Undying Spirits from another realm, as our warriors don’t have the liberty to try challenging levels and solve puzzles with human lives.
They are inherently born for war!
Our duty as ’conductors’ is to ensure that each of their sacrifices has meaning and value. Our relationship reminds me of the ’Hall of Valor’ from the barbarian legends of the west. We are the The Fury’s goddesses of war, and the players are the undying spirits who are summoned back to reality after countless battles.
Now I understand where your confidence in the inevitable victory over the Black Disaster comes from, Murphy.
As long as those Werewolves cannot annihilate us in one strike, as long as they cannot kill us all, we can always make a comeback! Yes, as long as Transylvania keeps fighting, as long as Transylvania never gives up, those Werewolves will never tread on this land.
I’m now filled with the same confidence as you, Murphy.
I believe that we can definitely create miracles together with the people from different worlds."
