Chapter 1228: 415. Number 2 Warrior · Pantless Demon Doctor_2
He yelled:
"Damn, I’m in the Star Realm again! This is already the second time this month; why am I so unlucky? Help me out, bro!
Pull me out, quick!"
"F*@k! Save him!"
The leader of the Demon Eight Elites, Zou Lan, roared and lunged forward to grab Dog Egg’s arm, pulling him back to the material world.
The other brothers also rushed over in a chaotic scramble to help, and it took a tremendous effort to pull Dog Egg back from the Star Realm before the portal dissipated.
But this unlucky guy had brought back some "stuff" from the Star Realm.
Several shadow-like squid creatures hovered in the air, emitting sharp noises while flailing their tentacles and lashing out.
Luckily, though the Demon Eight Elites were playful, they genuinely had strength, and they quickly hurled four or five curses, with controlled undead minions advancing to slash, eventually managing to kill off those Soul Devouring Cuttlefish.
They were quite lucky, one of the Soul Devouring Cuttlefish "exploded" gear, a shattered, dark skull crashed on the ground, causing a few brothers who played by the Sinister Path to gather and whisper among themselves, still not daring to pick it up.
After all, it was an item from the Star Realm, who knew what weird powers were lingering on it?
Meanwhile, the rescued Dog Egg no longer had his previous impressive bearing; he sat beside under the guard of his undead servants, gasping for air heavily. He held his head, regretfully saying:
"Damn, I miscalculated a coordinate again, teleportation spells are so hard, why are there so many formulas to remember? F*@k, I just lost a Skeleton Mage...
Damn!
This was high-quality stock I ’loaned’ from Hog, now I’m going to owe big time."
This little episode highly amused Lord Morphy, who was watching from the shadows; his little players were indeed still full of vigor, which was excellent.
They had not been beaten down by the cruel society enough to lose their zest for exploring life, which was exactly what he wanted to see.
With a schadenfreude mentality, Morphy pushed open the door to the death house.
But he looked up to see the darkly clad Necromancer Bella standing with her hands behind her back in the dim light of the gloomy phosphorescence, observing her apprentice, the Pantsless Demon, performing a dissection.
Pantsless Demon had recovered from his previous frail state and now projected a very solid spiritual energy in Morphy’s view.
This indicated he was returning to "health."
It seemed Necromancer Bella had indeed not been slacking off during this period; she really was dedicated to training Pantsless Demon, a uniquely talented player on all accounts.
Morphy didn’t disturb this "master-apprentice" activity; he silently approached and observed the focused movements of Pantsless Demon.
Afeng held a scalpel wrapped in death psychic power, conducting a dissection study on a wolf person’s corpse on the stone table, each move filled with the professional beauty of someone trained in the field.
The cuts were very steady, without any unnecessary motion, deftly extracting two hearts, one big, one small, from a Bone Biter who had died in a conflict in the Smugglers’ Forest, then soaking them in a jar prepared by Necromancer Bella for later research.
Pantsless Demon’s performance also frequently made Necromancer Bella nod in approval.
It was clear that Bella was quite satisfied with her apprentice’s fundamental skills in necromancy; just this superb dissection skill alone was enough for Pantsless Demon to stand out in any gathering of necromancers.
To master death, one must first understand death!
From this theoretical standpoint, dissection of the deceased is the most basic skill needed to become a necromancer on this continent.
"Not bad! Your skills exceed my expectations; your understanding of the structure of life forms is far beyond those idiots who pursue death but aren’t willing to learn seriously.
It looks like we can skip these basic courses and start diving into the mysteries of the Netherworld."
Bella exclaimed:
"You’ll become the finest necromancer, had you been born in the Sanghai Empire, you would probably become the greatest Moonlight Priest. But before we officially start, please go ahead and finish speaking with the local lord.
Time is very generous to us.
Look for me when you’re ready, my disciple."
Necromancer turned her head in an impossible 180° to nod at Morphy, the green spiritual fire under her hood enough to make children cry.
But Morphy, a vampire, was not afraid of such things.
After all, to most mortals, vampires were much scarier than moving corpses.
As Bella left, Pantsless Demon also took off his blood-stained leather gloves, washed his hands, removed his homemade mask, and then turned to Morphy, saying:
"Thank you for your help, Sir Morphy."
"Oh? Why thank me?" Morphy asked, quite intrigued by the young man before him.
Compared to a few days ago when he had first awoken in Transylvania, Pantsless Demon Afeng had completely regained his composure and the professionalism of being a doctor, exuding a refined demeanor.
From his calm demeanor, Morphy could infer that Afeng might have figured out some truths, but he preferred to hear Afeng say it himself.
Facing Morphy’s counter-question, Pantsless Demon was silent for a few seconds, rubbing his real cheek, he said:
"This... this isn’t just a game as they say! This place really exists, ever since I woke up, I’ve been pondering these questions, based on the descriptions from my father and Wood Brother I can tell their understanding of Transylvania is based on rational scientific deduction, but the issue is that my current state is inexplicable by science."
