Chapter 1033: 350. Why are you everywhere, mischievous Avalon!_3

"This guy really shouldn’t be underestimated."

"Master Morphy’s rate of progress is still so fast, compared to him, I have been too obsessed with my own duties and neglected the discovery of Strength."

In another private room, Maxim watched his own hands with great self-reproach.

Recalling the night he had sworn to become the sword of Morphy and then seeing how his master could now easily suppress a powerful Grail Knight in head-to-head combat, Maxim felt a surge of pressure in his heart.

However, Lady Rennesia, who had been invited to watch the fight, furrowed her brows.

She examined Morphy’s eerie but formidable Dark Night Claws that kept ripping blood trails across the Valande Knight’s muscular body, and after a few seconds of thought, she turned to Maxim and said,

"If I remember correctly, you have claws like that too, but I’ve never seen you use them when we spar?"

"Those come from the bloodline gifted by Master Morphy, a reward he bestows upon those loyal to him."

Maxim explained in an obvious manner:

"The Dark Night Claws are powerful, but I haven’t learned how to use them properly. Besides, we’re sparring, not fighting for our lives; there’s no need to use something that could easily take a life if I’m not careful."

"You’ve been holding back all along?"

Lady Rennesia said with an irritated stance:

"Do you need to give me an advantage? You cunning Transylvanian Barbarian, next time we spar, I want to experience the might of Blood Vulture’s claws..."

"Alright, if you’re not afraid of the pain."

Maxim shrugged and turned his attention back to the fighting ring.

The Valande Knight continued to launch ferocious attacks with his explosive and devastating Beast Fist techniques, but against Morphy’s assassin-style combat, which was like a ghost darting back and forth, he was clearly at a disadvantage.

However, this didn’t mean that the Valande Knight was inferior in close-quarters combat.

After all, there was a considerable rank difference between them, and even with differences in skill, this should not result in the current one-sided situation.

The real problem was the Purify Psychic Power wrapped around Morphy’s claws, which had worked a big number on the Grey Vulture Knight the first time they struck.

It was as if a bomb had exploded on the spiritual level.

Creating a "big hole" in the Grey Vulture Knight’s confusion also put him in a "purified" state, where the feeling of his soul being torn apart carried over to Valande’s body, making his attacks and defenses fall completely out of shape. The deceptive murmuring of the Holy Grail’s power echoed with the "mental bombs" Morphy kept exploding, making it hard for him to accurately capture the latter’s form.

It was like being hit with a "confusion spell" DEBUFF right at the start of the battle, the kind with a -100% hit chance.

The only silver lining was that the Grey Vulture Knight had only been in contact with the Holy Grail, not directly faced with the Subspace Shadows, meaning he was not suppressed by the Omega antivirus program as much as the previous four unlucky Chaos swordsmen were.

Those four couldn’t even resist in the face of an "overpowered" Morphy.

Actually, upon reflection, that Omega antivirus program is really buggy. Even during the fight against Salockdale, it allowed Morphy to easily break through the defenses of a Gold Stage adversary, and now to deal with a newly-promoted Grail Knight, wasn’t having a hand more than enough?

"Pfft"

In the final moments of the tensely fought battle that had turned the entire arena into chaos, Morphy leaped out from the drifting fog, climbing like an agile monkey onto the Grey Vulture Knight’s back.

The Dark Night Claws pierced forward, lifted two inches above the heart at the back, transforming a fatal thrust into a "stern punishment."

As the defense-ignoring Dark Night Claws penetrated the flesh, the Grey Vulture Knight let out a painful cry, his towering figure collapsing half-kneeling to the ground like a crumbling edifice.

The dissonant calm in his eyes was completely shattered, making this brutal man curse in pain at that moment,

"Damn Avalon’s big feet! That really hurt... can’t you be a little gentler?"

"Going gentle would cure your madness, wouldn’t it? Look at the state you’re in. Your wife is about to have a baby, and you choose to convert at this time? Are you planning to bring about a tragedy of family breakup? I actually think I was too lenient with you, and Lady Sunny should award me a one-ton medal instead," Morphy replied.

Morphy swiftly pulled out the Dark Night Claws and hopped in front of the gritted-teeth Valande Knight, addressing the highlander who was like a giant,

"But luckily, thanks to Doctor Morphy’s Miraculous Rejuvenation, you have been saved in the nick of time, no need to mention it."

"I still need to say thank you, you pulled me back from such a terrifying summoning."

The Grey Vulture Knight sighed, looking gratefully at Morphy, who was pale from the pain of the Purify Psychic Power. He said,

"But those things weren’t meant for me to see, Morphy. Avalon wanted you to see them... I’m just a vessel for Divine Spirit’s words, in other words, I was implicated by you.

Damn it, you were supposed to be the one to drink the water from the Holy Grail that night."

He extended his hand, and a scattering of light flickered in his palm.

He spoke to Morphy,

"Take a look, I think you need to see it. Avalon has shown me the secrets of the Holy Grail, and He wants you to know even more."
