My Monster-Derived Skills Are the True Power -
Chapter 35: Pulling You Into My Rhythm
Live to fight another day.
Li Ye’s techniques were nothing but tricks and deception. Murong Kaixin was certain that the other three Grandmasters, like him, would never stoop so low as to perform such a flashy display.
No one’s power could increase so quickly. If Li Ye had suddenly erupted with strength, he must have used some kind of dark art.
But all dark arts had their limits—they never lasted long and always came with severe drawbacks.
As long as he could escape now and join forces with even one other Grandmaster, he would have no trouble taking Li Ye down. Then, he could force the method of Spiritual Energy cultivation out of him.
The path of Spiritual Energy was far too mysterious. From the very beginning, Murong Kaixin knew he couldn’t monopolize it alone…
Just as he was lost in thought—
Wham!
Another brutal hit landed right between his legs. That area had already gone numb; at this point, it didn’t even matter whether it was one strike or two.
But this painful reminder told him that if he didn’t leave now, he wouldn’t get another chance. With a surge of energy, Murong Kaixin kicked Li Ye away and flashed out of sight. When he reappeared, he was already at the entrance of Wolf Valley.
Think you can put on a show and then just run?
Li Ye had been playing his match just fine when Murong Kaixin suddenly jumped in, acting all high and mighty.
He nearly ruined all of Li Ye’s carefully planned tactics along with his future. Now that Li Ye finally had the strength to fight back, there was no way he would let the man escape.
With a cold snort, he planted his foot firmly on the ground and sent a soccer ball hurtling toward Murong Kaixin’s back. Then, like a shadow chasing the ball, he dashed forward and slid in for a fierce tackle.
Combining his agility skills with a slide tackle made him even faster than running on flat ground. He moved like a shooting star, striking like lightning.
Sensing the gust of wind behind him, Murong Kaixin leaped into the air, barely dodging what could have been a leg-breaking strike.
But Li Ye was too fast. He avoided the tackle—only to have his foot scraped raw by the sheer force of Li Ye’s momentum.
He’s gotten even faster!
Murong Kaixin was horrified. Gritting his teeth, he went all in—his uninjured foot stomped down hard, aiming straight for Li Ye’s abdomen.
He channeled his inner energy, wrapping his entire foot in a glowing white aura.
This kick—he was determined to punch a hole straight through Li Ye’s stomach!
But Li Ye was just as ruthless. When it was time to fight, he never backed down. Instead of dodging, he retaliated—a counter kick, like a rabbit striking an eagle.
Boom!
Thud!
Two cries of pain rang out.
A searing pain twisted in Li Ye’s gut—it felt like his intestines were about to snap in half.
Murong Kaixin had it worse. His already battered weak spot took another devastating hit. His eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets, turning blood-red in an instant.
Through sheer agony, he kicked the soccer ball away and prepared to flee again.
But Li Ye sprang up like a shadow, landing on Murong Kaixin’s back. Wrapping his legs around the man’s waist, he locked one arm around his throat.
This was the classic celebratory move soccer players used after scoring a goal. Li Ye had simply turned it into an offensive technique.
With his team badge granting him bonuses, every soccer-related action was enhanced—even more than the techniques recorded in the Dragon Emperor Technique.
Sliding across the grass, ripping off his shirt, sticking out his tongue…
He could execute all of them with lightning speed.
If he hadn’t been able to control himself, he might have even planted a kiss on the back of Murong Kaixin’s head.
Instead, he clenched his fist and drove it hard into Murong Kaixin’s temple.
With his neck locked, Murong Kaixin had nowhere to dodge.
He took the full force of the punch.
Dizzy and desperate, he grabbed Li Ye’s arm and twisted his waist, trying to shake him off.
But Li Ye wasn’t about to let go. Gritting his teeth through the pain in his arm, he hammered down again and again, each punch carrying the force of both inner energy and Demonic Energy.
Every strike was like a mountain crashing down.
Murong Kaixin’s vision blurred from the repeated blows. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Gongsun Jie and the others limping toward him.
Cursing inwardly, he ignored the pain and vanished into the distance with Li Ye still clinging onto him.
He had made his choice.
Fighting a Li Ye without a ball was still easier than taking on an entire group.
"Master… what now?" Zhong Wenhao was dumbfounded as he watched Murong Kaixin disappear with Li Ye. "Does this count as Murong Kaixin capturing Li Ye?"
"…" Wen Renchuan’s mouth twitched violently. He shot a glare at his clueless disciple before sighing. "Just clean up the scene and help maintain order in Wolf Valley."
Even he hadn’t expected the situation to change so drastically.
Murong Kaixin, a Grandmaster, had seemed to have the upper hand—only for Li Ye to flip the battle in an instant.
He still couldn’t quite understand how Li Ye had done it.
This was insane.
Yes, even though Murong Kaixin had taken Li Ye away and the battle’s outcome was unclear, in his mind—
Li Ye had already won.
A twenty-something-year-old had fought an old Grandmaster to a standstill—and even gained the upper hand.
Murong Kaixin had been reduced to a desperate street brawler.
This was not someone Wen Renchuan wanted to cross.
And on top of that, Li Ye had mastered a power even more advanced than inner energy—Spiritual Energy cultivation.
One thing was certain: the martial world was about to be thrown into chaos.
And he had no interest in going to the Galactic Federation anymore.
If Spiritual Energy cultivation could cause this much turmoil in just a few days, what kind of disorder existed in the Galactic Federation, where it was widespread?
There, you wouldn’t even know whether someone hitting you was helping you or trying to kill you.
Whoever wanted to go could go. He was staying right here.
Meanwhile, Scarlet Flame Sect’s Left Protector, Xu Chuan, stared in the direction Murong Kaixin had fled, his expression unreadable.
After a long silence, he finally spoke.
"Zhao Li, get back to Scarlet Flame Sect immediately. Report everything that happened in Wolf Valley, down to the smallest detail. And bring them all here."
"Understood!" Zhao Li nodded firmly.
Earlier, he had secretly mocked Shi Xiang’s misfortune.
Now, he was feeling even more bitter.
Shi Xiang already had a Grandmaster as a master—how the hell did he manage to latch onto an even bigger golden thigh?
Was the heavens blind?!
"Remember," Xu Chuan warned, "report every single detail. And especially tell Great Elder Huai Yi—do not challenge Li Ye head-on like Murong Kaixin did."
"Worthless! Murong Kaixin is a complete idiot! How did someone like him even become a Grandmaster?!"
Watching the entire ordeal unfold, Wei Mingze cursed furiously.
"I wrote in my report—clearly—that Li Ye might possess Grandmaster-level strength! And what does Murong Kaixin do? Charge in like an idiot shouting for a fight! Did a donkey kick his head?!"
The officials around him exchanged awkward glances.
One of them, a military officer, hesitated but ultimately kept his mouth shut.
Even if he wanted to remind the governor that Murong Kaixin was still alive, he didn’t have the guts to say it out loud.
"Idiot! A perfectly good plan—ruined!" Wei Mingze paced back and forth anxiously before turning to Wan Peng, the deputy commander of the Inspection Bureau.
"Wan, ride to the capital immediately and report everything to His Majesty. If we don’t act fast, the Chu Kingdom is doomed!"
"Understood!" Wan Peng knew the gravity of the situation. Without hesitation, he leaped onto his horse and rode off toward the capital.
Unlike the anxious martial artists and officials, the spectators were beyond thrilled.
Even as the staff urged them to leave, they lingered, eyes fixed on Wolf Valley’s entrance, eagerly awaiting Li Ye and Murong Kaixin’s return.
They still didn’t know who had won!
