My Monster-Derived Skills Are the True Power
Chapter 34: Li Ye's Compassionate Heart

Li Ye’s single declaration ignited the morale of everyone on the field.

“Hah!” Murong Kaixin sneered, saying nothing as he launched a punch toward Yu Fei.

“As long as I’m standing, no one will touch my teammates!” Li Ye roared, leaping forward and kicking Yu Fei square in the chest, sending him flying through the air.

“Idiot.”

Murong Kaixin spat the insult as he swung another punch, this time at Gongsun Jie.

Gongsun Jie, caught between fear and disbelief, wasn’t watching the incoming punch. Instead, he cast a sidelong glance at Li Ye, who was charging at him with the ball. The expression in his eyes screamed, Don’t come over! I can dodge this myself!

But in the end, he couldn’t escape being caught between Murong Kaixin’s punch and Li Ye’s "rescue."

Li Ye barreled into him like a rampaging bull, sending him sprawling through the air, coughing up blood as pain radiated across his entire body.

...

One injury might’ve been understandable, but when Li Ye took out nearly every teammate himself, it became increasingly bizarre.

Even Murong Kaixin sensed something odd. But the situation still appeared to favor him.

Perhaps Li Ye just wants to injure them enough to keep me from killing them outright, Murong Kaixin thought.

A flurry of thoughts raced through his mind, though he didn’t dwell on them for long.

After all, he still had the upper hand. Had it not been for that earlier sneak attack, none of them would’ve stood a chance against him.

The pain in his lower abdomen throbbed again, rekindling his simmering rage.

But perhaps Li Ye’s secrets—his methods for cultivating Spiritual Energy—could still offer some way to restore what he’d lost.

Sneering coldly, Murong Kaixin said, “Only one left standing. Let’s see who’ll save you now.”

With that, he sent a powerful punch toward Deng Wei, the last unscathed teammate.

Li Ye said nothing, charging at Deng Wei with the ball.

In his haste, he seemed to forget about Liu Guangsheng and Fan Jie, who had already broken their legs tackling each other. As he barreled through them, the Demonic Energy that had just begun healing their injuries failed to keep up, and their legs audibly snapped again.

Crack! Crack!

Both screamed in agony as they rolled on the ground, clutching their legs.

For Li Ye, every teammate on the field was an opportunity for growth, and he wasn’t about to let any go to waste.

While saving Deng Wei, he also stepped over Li Qiang, whose body had been half-destroyed by Murong Kaixin.

Li Qiang, hanging onto life by a thread thanks to Demonic Energy, convulsed as Li Ye’s foot landed on him. Instead of dying, however, his breathing stabilized, and his eyes widened as he let out a pained gasp:

“Ah! That hurts!”

What the...?! He’s alive?!

Li Ye’s shock was brief, quickly replaced by realization.

Strike My Teammates didn’t just enhance his attributes—it also boosted his teammates’ combat abilities.

Li Qiang’s enhanced vitality came from the increase in his Inner Power and Demonic Energy, which actively repaired his injuries.

So hurting others is saving them... What a compassionate heart I have!

Li Ye mentally rolled his eyes at the irony as he saved the last teammate right under Murong Kaixin’s nose, achieving a ten-hit streak.

Ten times the Inner Power, ten times the Demonic Energy, ten times the physical strength.

Li Ye was now unrecognizable compared to his pre-battle self. Looking at Murong Kaixin, he no longer felt the oppressive threat of life and death.

He felt... invincible.

“Fool. Look around—who’s left to help you?” Murong Kaixin paused, pain lingering beneath his composure. Surveying the battered team, he couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of their chosen leader.

“This is the master you’ve pledged yourselves to?”

“You forced my hand, Murong,” Li Ye said, standing over the ball with a cold smile. “Do you think I’m so incompetent that I’d injure my teammates accidentally? Like some joke?”

“...” Murong Kaixin froze.

“...” The audience fell silent.

“I walk a path of the wicked—a higher civilization’s dark arts beyond your comprehension,” Li Ye continued, his mocking gaze fixed on Murong Kaixin. “By wounding them, I’ve infused them with my Spiritual Energy. They’re not who they were before.”

The injured players were stunned.

“My power... it’s increased dramatically!” Shi Xiang exclaimed through gritted teeth, excitement lighting up his battered face.

“Mine too!” Liu Guangsheng chimed in.

“Same here!” Yu Fei added with astonishment.

In an instant, all resentment toward Li Ye vanished, replaced by gratitude and admiration.

Li Ye had redeemed his image completely.

The injured players struggled to their feet, united in their resolve as they faced Murong Kaixin. How could they waste their leader’s painstaking efforts?

“Pfft. A few tricks won’t change the fact that ants are ants,” Murong Kaixin sneered. “No matter how strong they become, I can crush them again and again. How much power can you afford to share with them?”

Murong’s gaze finally settled back on Li Ye, his tone dripping with disdain.

Standing tall, his hair fluttering in an unseen wind, Murong Kaixin projected the image of an unshakable Grandmaster—as if he hadn’t been kicked in the groin mere moments earlier.

“To them, you’re ants,” Li Ye retorted, shaking his head with a faint smile. “But to me, you’re no better—a frog in a well, incapable of seeing the heavens above.”

“Even a wounded celestial isn’t someone you mortals can humiliate...”

“Very well. Show me what you can do,” Murong Kaixin said, believing he’d already deciphered Li Ye’s tricks.

Li Ye said nothing, simply raising his foot to kick the ball.

Unlike the earlier cannonball-like shot, this one was like a meteor.

It moved so fast that Murong Kaixin couldn’t even track its trajectory. By the time he realized, the ball was already upon him.

Instinctively, he reached out to block it but withdrew his hand at the last second, remembering the earlier penalty.

The sudden adjustment left him no time to dodge fully. The ball grazed his face, slicing through his protective energy and tearing off a chunk of flesh.

Blood gushed from the wound, leaving his once-handsome face in shreds.

Before he could recover, Li Ye appeared at his side, hooking the ball back with his foot and landing an elbow strike to his ribs.

How is he this fast?!

Murong Kaixin’s instincts kicked in, and he countered with a flurry of strikes aimed at Li Ye’s throat, chest, and abdomen. At the same time, he launched a powerful kick toward Li Ye’s shin.

Despite Li Ye’s enhanced speed, he couldn’t avoid every attack. Murong Kaixin’s blows sent him flying, but Li Ye’s enhanced defenses absorbed most of the damage.

His shattered organs were already healing by the time he hit the ground.

Just a little pain? That’s nothing.

With the ball still at his feet, Li Ye launched himself back into the fight, aiming for Murong Kaixin’s injured face.

Slap!

Murong Kaixin reeled from the blow, blood spraying as his face burned with fresh agony.

For the first time, fear crept into his heart.

Murong Kaixin knew his own strength. No Grandmaster would dare take his full-force strikes head-on. Yet Li Ye had done so repeatedly and come back for more each time.

His confidence wavered.

What kind of dark magic is this?! How has he grown so much in such a short time?!

As Li Ye charged at him again, Murong Kaixin felt the first stirrings of an urge to flee. But he couldn’t bring himself to leave—not with his injuries and his need for Li Ye’s secrets gnawing at him.
