Chapter 125 Night at the Pearl Tower
Chapter 125: Chapter 125 Night at the Pearl Tower
"I went to Marquesa Vines company."
"Wow, such a good thing, and you didn’t even invite me!"
"If I were to invite anyone, it would be Paul; what’s it to do with you?"
I glanced at her, this woman who flirted all day long. If I didn’t let her focus on her work, who knows what trouble she might stir up?
She pouted, appearing somewhat upset.
I said, "Focus on the project. Once it’s done, I’ll tell you the good news."
"What good news?" She immediately became interested.
"I can’t tell you now; I’ll tell you after the project is finished."
"William, Supervisor William, just tell me..."
She was definitely shaking my arm, but she seemed to be swaying even more than I was. Her dribbling skills were quite impressive. Wasn’t she concerned about accidentally dribbling on people? fre ewebnove l.com
"After the project, I promise it will be good news!"
She whispered softly, "Is it another big project?"
I smiled and remained silent.
"Oh, can’t you give me a hint, Master?"
"The time hasn’t come."
"If you don’t tell, you won’t see."
She adjusted her clothes and stated, "I won’t show you." I shook my head in resignation; this flirtatious woman was truly materialistic.
After she departed, I messaged Lily. "Seven o’clock tonight, Sevan Pearl Tower, Room Seven!"
Later, at work, as I observed her expressionless face while she packed up, I couldn’t discern her thoughts, which left me feeling uncertain.
Upon returning home, freshening up and shaving, I left at six o’clock. Sevan was bustling at night, and I arrived at the Pearl Tower by six forty.
The Pearl Tower, standing over a hundred floors, was Sevan’s tallest landmark building. Peering down from there, the vibrant streets and flashing neon lights depicted a prosperity that words couldn’t capture. I never imagined I would dine here one day. It’s truly beyond my wildest dreams. To show my sincerity and importance to her, I stood at the elevator waiting.
As time passed, couples entered hand in hand, and I started to feel a bit anxious. Damn, could this woman really not come? I thought to myself, "If you don’t come tonight, I’ll call Grace; this flirtatious woman would definitely be very willing to come."
As seven o’clock approached, I started to get impatient, telling myself, "Wait another five minutes; if she doesn’t come after five minutes, then forget it!" It would mean that this conquest had failed halfway.
Just as the five minutes were about to pass, the elevator "dinged," and the doors opened. When I looked inside, a woman in a white evening gown, her hair elegantly styled, walked out. She had a faint blush on her face and features that resembled a painting, making her incredibly beautiful. With a silver bracelet adorning her wrist and sparkling high heels on her feet, I was left speechless. If it wasn’t Lily, who else could it be? I swallowed hard. Damn, she was stunning.
She walked out, and I reached out my hand quickly, grabbing her soft hand without waiting for her consent. "I thought you weren’t coming," I whispered, "Luckily, you came."
"There was a bit of traffic on the way," she rarely explained, and I was overjoyed.
"Let’s go in."
Dressed in black and white, we made a striking pair that day: the man tall and handsome, the woman elegant and poised, exuding grace. As we walked in, we drew the gaze of many onlookers: men admiring us, women eyeing us with envy, and I felt a sense of satisfaction.
Stepping into the private room, a waiter wheeled a trolley towards us, adorned with chilled champagne on top and a bed of nine hundred and ninety-nine roses below.
"These flowers are for you," I said.
Seeing such a large bunch of flowers, although she still had a calm expression, the joy in her eyes was about to overflow.
"Thank you!" she nodded.
I gestured, and the waiter placed the flowers next to her, then opened the champagne and poured us each a glass. "Cheers!"
I raised my glass to toast with hers, enjoying the exquisite taste of the champagne that cost seven to eight thousand dollars per bottle.
Shortly after, the waiter departed, and a series of elaborate dishes—appetizers, soups, side dishes, and more—were brought to the table.
If Lily hadn’t messaged me on my other account to meet at the Pearl Tower for a date with a loved one, I wouldn’t have come. Wasn’t it more cost-effective to dine at roadside eateries? Of course, I could only think about it. Lily had received an aristocratic education since childhood and probably had never eaten at roadside eateries.
After the dishes were served, I discreetly left a generous tip for the waiter. Although there was some initial awkwardness, I knew it was important to keep the conversation lively to avoid any dull moments that might give the impression of being uninteresting. I made an effort to bring up topics that I knew she enjoyed, such as fitness, skincare, cosmetics, and luxury items. With my preparedness, her enthusiasm gradually increased, and she became more talkative. I could sense a connection forming as our conversations allowed me to touch her heart.
After drinking some champagne, her face turned slightly red. "William, what kind of person are you really? Why do you understand me so well?" I broke out in a cold sweat on my forehead, thinking, "After chatting with you for so long on my alternate account, how could I not understand?"
"I’ve said before, I’ve been paying attention to you, so I know your preferences and habits very well. And, there’s a saying called ’our hearts are in sync’; it should be about us."
Her face blushed even more, and she turned her head to look outside. "I used to think that one day, I would come to the Pearl Tower for a date with the person I like."
"Does today count as fulfilling your wish?"
I stood up and took out a box. Inside was a platinum necklace from Cartier. Although this platinum necklace wasn’t as expensive as the one I gave to Mary, it still cost over twenty grand.
"Can I help you put it on?"
