My Love Debts Are Everywhere! -
Chapter 715 - 715: The Fading Destiny of the World and the Great Chaos That Awaits
Ever since the destruction of the Forest of Eternal Silence by the Evil God's consciousness, the southern region had been suffering from a prolonged drought that triggered a severe environmental crisis.
It's important to note that the forest once supplied around forty percent of the oxygen for the southern region and some neighboring border areas.
Its destruction led to a dramatic rise in temperature, followed by widespread chaos.
To make matters worse, the soaring temperatures in the Desert of Chaos further intensified the already extreme weather conditions.
The fall season, which usually saw temperatures ranging from fourteen to seventeen degrees Celsius, was now recording highs above thirty-five degrees—and the numbers were still climbing.
As a result, people became increasingly unwilling to leave their homes, and the southern region's economy had fallen into deep stagnation.
"Here is the special report I've prepared, Leader."
A beautiful woman in professional attire approached a man seated in his chair.
With polite deference, she handed him the document and then stepped back.
The man read through it carefully. After a moment, he gave a small nod and placed the report on the desk.
"I'm satisfied with how the plan is structured. But there are a few missing parts. I'll send you the details later. You may leave for now."
The woman bowed respectfully before turning and leaving the room.
Watching her go, the man let out a long sigh and stretched his stiff body.
"Being the leader of a Trading House isn't much different from being the Prime Minister. Honestly, it's probably even more troublesome… Tsk." He muttered as he adjusted his glasses.
This man was none other than Jim Terran—Leon's former nemesis.
But ever since Leon had freed him, along with Rain and Natasya, the animosity between them had completely faded.
Jim glanced at the empty space where his left hand used to be, then let out a dry chuckle.
"Even after more than a year, the pain's still there. But that's fine. It's part of my penance," he whispered softly.
With Rain's power, his arm could've been reattached—or even regrown from scratch.
But he had refused. To him, losing his left hand was proof of the grave mistake he'd made in the past—a wound he had no intention of healing for the rest of his life.
He shifted his attention back to the document on the desk, sinking into deep thought.
"So this is the aftermath of the Forest of Eternal Silence's destruction. What a troublesome mess."
Since founding the Eclipse Trading House, he had faced countless challenges.
And yet, none of them had truly been obstacles. In fact, they had all turned out to be advantages for him and his company.
As the old saying goes, "Every difficulty holds an opportunity."
And indeed, that saying rang true—even now. No matter how difficult things became, there was always opportunity hidden behind them.
However, the obstacle this time was particularly troublesome—it involved the climate and weather, forces far beyond his control.
"I see the opportunities, but I can't do this alone," he whispered. "I'll try reaching out to the Holy Orthodoxy later. I'm sure they'll approve of my plan."
Fortunately, the Eclipse Trading House had recently entered a large-scale cooperation with the Holy Orthodoxy to support the region's economy.
Even so, Jim and Arshley had never met in person. He was certain she would be surprised when they finally did.
After all, in everyone's mind, Jim Terran had been dead for a long time.
Just as he was lost in thought, the door to the study suddenly opened.
A woman stepped in—petite, but strikingly beautiful.
Jim blinked in mild surprise before letting a small smile form on his lips.
"It's been a while, Rain. I didn't expect you back so soon. Something wrong?"
The woman was Rain Violet—a comrade, and the youngest Great Mage in human history.
Compared to the Rain from just over a year ago, she now looked far more mature.
The traces of her youthful innocence had faded, replaced by a calm, elegant grace—like a flower in full bloom.
Her once long, flowing purple hair was now tied neatly in a bun, accentuating her cool and composed demeanor.
Unfortunately, there was one thing that hadn't changed—her height. Perhaps she'd grown a little, but not enough for anyone to notice.
Rain gave a small nod in response to his greeting. She stepped closer, her expression serious and guarded, leaving Jim slightly confused.
"What's wrong, Rain? You look tense. Did something happen?" he asked, clearly taken aback.
As far as he knew, Rain was remarkably capable. No matter how dire the situation, she always managed to handle it on her own.
So… was she facing something even she couldn't deal with this time?
"Jim, we're in danger," Rain said seriously, pressing both palms firmly onto the desk. "The world is on the verge of falling into instability and chaos."
Jim was startled by the sudden declaration. He took a slow breath and gestured for her to explain further.
Rain began to speak, her voice low and heavy with urgency.
Jim listened intently. But the more she explained, the more his expression darkened.
"So what you're saying is… the force that keeps this world stable—its destiny—is gone?"
"Yes," Rain replied with a deep nod, her eyes unwavering and full of conviction.
*Snap!*
With a flick of her finger, a purple light shimmered into existence above them. It gradually expanded, forming a glowing star map in midair.
Upon closer inspection, it resembled Louis's map—though it was simpler, more refined, and less complex than the original.
"You already know I've been studying star divination," Rain said solemnly. "According to this map, all living things are bound by a force called destiny."
"And that includes the world itself. This world has its own destiny—a force that maintains balance and keeps the peace. But now..."
Rain frowned and pointed to a large golden star that flickered faintly—its light dimming, as if on the verge of going out.
"The destiny of this world is starting to fade… maybe even disappear," she said. "That means the peace we've enjoyed until now will vanish, and after that… chaos will follow."
Even Jim, usually calm and composed, felt his heart begin to race.
"Chaos? What kind of chaos? Another great war?" he muttered under his breath.
But that didn't seem likely.
Since the great battle in the Desert of Chaos—which marked both his own defeat and that of mankind—the relationship between humans and demons had steadily improved.
The enmity that had lasted for seven thousand years was finally beginning to dissolve. Cooperation and exchange between the two races had grown, especially in trade and commerce.
Even the Eclipse Trading House had benefited from the change.
They had gained access to the demon market and were successfully selling their products there.
In many ways, this was a golden era—one the world hadn't seen in over seven thousand years.
Suddenly, Jim's eyes widened as a memory resurfaced—his conversation with Leon back then.
"Don't tell me…" His chest tightened. "The chaos she's talking about… is it connected to the Evil God Leon once warned me about…?!"
