Chapter 53: Chapter 20 Prenatal Check-up (Part 2)_2

A woman with a happy and harmonious family is undoubtedly the most enviable, and Du Xixi happens to possess this enviable condition. She captivated the once-cold Marshal, opening his heart, willing to turn hardened steel into her gentle touch.

The director became increasingly diligent in ensuring the safety and comprehensiveness of Du Xixi’s medication, believing that a happy and harmonious family should indeed have a child as a spice of life.

What she could do was her utmost to let this child safely enter the world.

Although Mo Feng and his brothers accompanied, prenatal checkups required these men to step aside, so before Ke Lian could ask them to leave, they thoughtfully waited outside the door.

The office door opened, and Mo Feng and the others, concerned about Du Xixi and the child in her belly, quickly gathered around. However, wary of Ke Lian’s cold stare, they kept a respectful distance.

Diwu Qian adjusted his glasses, frowned slightly, and asked with concern, "How is it? Is our sister-in-law’s health alright?"

Du Xixi felt warmth in her heart, grateful that Diwu Qian cared about her first and not the child, so she smiled at him. "The director said my health is much better than before, and the child is growing on a normal path."

Ke Lian also appeared noticeably more relaxed than when he arrived. He glanced at his worried brothers and said warmly, "In the coming days, I’ll take good care of Xixi, ensuring her health surpasses its current state."

The brothers immediately burst into laughter, teasingly watching Ke Lian and Du Xixi, wishing they could embarrass the couple on the spot with a few remarks.

But they clearly underestimated Ke Lian’s prowess; before they could voice their teasing, Ke Lian glanced coldly because of the many onlookers and said to Mo Feng and others directly, "Let’s head back."

Being watched was something he and Mo Feng were used to after so many years, transitioning from initial unease to current ease. But Du Xixi was not accustomed to it, and Ke Lian did not want her disturbed during this special period.

Though being the wife of one of the Empire’s Marshals would mean many grand occasions awaited her in the future, for now, Ke Lian did not want Xixi exposed to the public prematurely.

Mo Feng and others understood, surrounding Ke Lian and Du Xixi to leave, trying their best to shield Du Xixi from prying eyes, while Zhang Xiong received a signal from the Marshal, activated the Light Computer to control and prevent any photos or information about Du Xixi from circulating on the Star Network.

The people in the Military Department naturally knew what should and shouldn’t be spread, but problems arose with the presence of many relatives of department members in the military hospital. Sensible ones wouldn’t talk recklessly, but it was unknown what the ignorant might do.

Zhang Xiong, renowned in military school, excelled in both skills and information science. His ability to become Ke Lian’s adjutant had much to do with his talent in information science.

Thus, entrusting this matter to Zhang Xiong was more than appropriate.

Hence, Ke Lian and his group came in grandeur and left in grandeur, although Du Xixi circled under everyone’s eyes, no related content about her spread on the Star Network.

However, the news of Marshal Ke Lian accompanying his newlywed wife to the hospital for a prenatal checkup still leaked. Yet, the Marshal’s wife’s name, background, age, height, or weight remained a mystery to the outside world.

Compared to the immensely popular Ke Lian across the All-Star, his wife was too mysterious, inciting curiosity among the masses, so much so that they were anxiously eager to know more.

But despite the anxiety, no one dared to inquire further. While ages varied on the Star Network, there were many intelligent people, and upon observing the situation, they knew someone was protecting Du Xixi, who was undoubtedly Ke Lian, nine times out of ten.

The Marshal protecting his wife is reasonable, a matter neither to be questioned nor dared to be questioned. After all, who would dare provoke the esteemed Marshal of the Blue Star Empire? Needless to say, his wife, the Marshal’s Wife, was also not to be provoked.
