Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Acting is a Hobby, My Main Profession is Being a Righteous Hero

Han Fei had not expected that the last birthday gift Ying Yue’s parents gave her would be so unique, and now he could understand why, after falling into madness, she still remembered that gift.

"Li Xue, do you know where that gift is now?"

"After the corneas were removed, they could be preserved in a special nutrient solution for up to six weeks. At that time, the doctor advised to perform eye surgery on Ying Yue immediately, but her parents were both in trouble, and her temporary guardian Ying Qingmei decided to postpone the surgery for various reasons."

"Was it because of the treatment cost?"

"I’m not sure about that. Later, Ying Yue’s parents’ corneas could no longer be used, and the hospital doctors felt so sorry for Ying Yue that they violated regulations, put her parents’ corneas in a small bottle, and secretly gave it to Ying Yue."

"Do you know where the bottle for storing the corneas is?"

"I’ll call the interrogators and ask, and I’ll get back to you later." After hanging up the phone, Li Xue called back within minutes: "Ying Qingmei’s daughter said that she poured the liquid from Ying Yue’s small bottle into the fish tank, and then filled the bottle with water from the tank."

"That little beast!" Han Fei’s tone changed, but he quickly returned to normal, "What kind of punishment will Ying Qingmei’s daughter face?"

"Now, Ying Qingmei and her daughter are pinning the murder entirely on the husband. If nothing unexpected happens, her husband will be sentenced to death."

"So, does that mean that little beast and Ying Qingmei will not face severe punishment?"

"How could it be? We now suspect this was a premeditated murder, and all three family members are accomplices." Li Xue warned Han Fei on the phone, "Leave the case to us, don’t you do anything impulsive."

"Don’t worry." Han Fei’s tone was gentle, but his mind was thinking of inviting the mother and daughter to Ying Yue’s Pupil House to play when he had the chance.

"Human nature is like the scorching sun; human nature is also like the abyss. When I was a criminal police officer, I saw many hateful things. What we can do is bring them to justice and prevent those who fall into the abyss from dragging more innocents down with them." Li Xue talked with Han Fei for a while longer before finally asking, "Aren’t you starting to act now? How do you still have time to provide clues to the police?"

"It doesn’t affect me; acting is my main profession, and I have plenty of side jobs." Han Fei finished his boxed meal and looked at his watch: "Break time is over, I need to get to work, see you later."

After hanging up the phone, Han Fei saw Zhan Lele and Jinnian standing at a distance: "Do you two need something?"

"Teacher Han, we’d like to ask you for some advice on acting." No matter what clothes Zhan Lele wore, he always had a comedian’s vibe: "I have always struggled with villain roles, but it’s different for you. You seem to have an innate quality that suits playing villains; how do you portray that feeling?"

"I don’t know, maybe it’s talent." Han Fei patiently talked to Zhan Lele and Jinnian about acting for a while before immersing himself in the intense work once more.

There were many solo scenes for Meng Changxi and Meng Chang’an in the new "Twin Flowers," requiring a lot from Han Fei.

Considering that he needed to save time to play games at night, Han Fei was working as if his life depended on it; his only goal was not to work overtime.

By evening, Han Fei had finished his part. His scenes were often completed in one take, which made the director and crew members find him easier to work with, so they looked at him more favorably.

After completing his work, Han Fei greeted everyone and left the set alone.

Walking through the old streets, he grabbed something to eat. Lately, onlookers from the "Urban Secret Love" production across the street had come out less frequently. It seemed they had learned through other channels that their company had let go of a particularly capable actor.

But for the company, letting someone go was just that, at most it meant making less money. Only if Han Fei becomes famous and influential in the future will they probably have a slight regret.

Back home, Han Fei set an alarm and took a nap first.

After he woke up, he took a cold shower and then sat down at his computer desk.

"Tonight is the last day of the F-level task, and given the current situation, it seems very unlikely to complete it."

"My top priority is to stay alive. First, I need to escape Room 1084."

"Before Ying Yue went crazy last night, she kept repeating the words ’birthday gift.’ Maybe the birthday gift is the only thing that can calm her down."

"When I log in this time, I’ll head straight to the fish tank in the living room to see if I can find the gift her parents left for her."

Han Fei couldn’t guarantee his own survival either. He silently looked at Ying Yue’s photo on the computer screen, "If I can’t keep Ying Yue lucid, then I’m afraid I’ll be trapped forever in Room 1084, becoming one of the eyes on the wall."

Just the thought was terrifying, but Han Fei had no way out.

He could only log off if he completed a task and stayed online for three hours, but now he was trapped in Room 1084, and the only task related to Room 1084 was demanding him to escape it.

"Ying Yue lives on the eighth floor, above that is the terrifying ninth floor, and then there’s the tenth floor where all the secrets are hidden."

Han Fei was extremely curious about the tenth floor; he wanted to know what was hidden in the Building Chief’s room, and he was also eager to unravel the secrets of the Black Box.

Right now, he was too weak and the whole world was still unknown, but the answers he sought were probably hidden on the tenth floor.

"I must survive, live to make it to the tenth floor!"

Getting into the best state he could, Han Fei watched the time moving steadily on the computer screen, and he began to feel increasingly tense.

At midnight, as the clock chimed, Han Fei put on the game helmet.

Everything was enveloped in a bloody hue. When Han Fei opened his eyes, he found himself still sitting in Ying Yue’s princess room.

A cold breath rushed at him, and as he opened his eyes, countless other eyes in the room opened at the same time.

All the dolls lifted their heads, their strange and malevolent gazes tightly focused on the stranger standing in the room.

"Ying Yue! I found the gift your parents gave you!"

A grotesque Monster emerged quietly as the torn plush toys came together, extending its hand towards Han Fei.

Wasting no time, Han Fei took off running towards the living room.

"The fish tank! That little beast dumped your parents’ gift into the fish tank!"

When he got to the living room, Han Fei didn’t try to push the anti-theft door but instead mustered all his strength to lift the fish tank: "I’m not lying to you!"

A massive shadow enveloped the entire living room as Han Fei held the fish tank in front of him.

The chilling breath caused cracks to form on the surface of the fish tank, and two goldfish hiding at the bottom swam out.

At first, Han Fei and the shadow paid no attention to the goldfish that suddenly appeared, not until the Monster in the shadow tried to shatter the fish tank and grab Han Fei’s head did they realize the problem.

When the irrational Ying Yue touched the fish tank, instead of being scared, the two goldfish came affectionately and snugly against the glass beside her fingertips.
