Chapter 548 Fu Sheng’s First Step

Chapter 548: Chapter 548 Fu Sheng’s First Step

Hearing Shen Luo’s words, the car fell silent instantly, as if time had stopped.

The businessman in the suit and Big Fish stared at Shen Luo, both making sure they had not misheard.

"Seven... wives?" the businessman confirmed again.

"Yes," Shen Luo nodded affirmatively, "He is a very good man and handsome too. I guess his Charm Value must be quite high, which is why he is so beloved by so many girls."

"In ’Perfect Life’, there are various ways to play. If it exists, it’s reasonable. No wonder he is not in a hurry," Big Fish started the minivan and glanced at himself in the rearview mirror, "If I had seven wives, I wouldn’t rush to leave the Hidden Map either."

"Even with an initially high Charm, it’s impossible to have seven wives. Maybe he has a rare tool that can increase his Charm Attribute, or perhaps his profession is quite special," the businessman sat next to Shen Luo, his tone slightly acidic.

"Actually, I don’t know much about Han Fei either. I was wanted by the residents here, and he saved me," Shen Luo felt the effects of the medicine wearing off, "Big brother, how should I address you?"

"Everyone calls me Boss. I am one of the shareholders of the Inevitable Truth website. I mainly play this game to lead my brothers in making big money," the businessman took out his phone and dialed Qiangwei’s number, "We have already made contact with Han Fei. His abilities are quite special. We’ll talk more when we meet."

After the minivan disappeared down the road, Han Fei finally withdrew his gaze and entered the company.

"Players have no way to fight against ghosts and monsters, but since they are flexible thinkers, they should make good cannon fodder," Han Fei was not worried about Shen Luo divulging his secrets. He knew in Shen Luo’s eyes, he was probably seen as a freeloader, and he hoped the players would continue to misunderstand him in that way.

"They all think I’m living off women, but once I find Big Evil, they’ll know how formidable I am."

In the Shrine Memory World, dying doesn’t actually lead to death; it only results in the loss of most memories, so Han Fei didn’t bother with those players.

Returning to his office, Han Fei was about to continue working when he unexpectedly received a call from the police.

Teacher Liu hadn’t lied to the police and had honestly admitted that Han Fei had helped her, therefore the police wanted to ask him some questions, hoping he would come to the school as soon as possible.

Han Fei initially wanted to refuse, but considering he owned the title "Righteous Hero" and that doing good deeds could earn him Experience Rewards, he chose to cooperate with the police.

A scenario that had occurred numerous times in reality was replaying in the Memory World. Indeed, gold shines no matter where it is.

After calling Zhao Qian to take leave, Han Fei took a taxi to Fu Sheng’s school.

As soon as he entered the school gates, he was stopped by the Security Guards. Han Fei was now somewhat of a celebrity within the school. It was the first time he had been called to the school, and he had ended up beating up the principal, a man whom everyone feared.

"Mr. Fu Sheng, the principal specifically instructed us not to let you in," the two Security Guards said with forced smiles as they blocked Han Fei’s path.

"That old man has already been arrested by the police, so why are you still listening to him? Were you guys helping him bury bodies back then?" Han Fei’s words turned the Security Guards pale, "Don’t worry, it’s the police who called me this time."

Passing by the two Security Guards, Han Fei walked toward the office building and had only taken a few steps when he heard Teacher Liu’s crying.

Gently knocking on the door, Han Fei entered the office of the first-year high school staff, where Teacher Liu was crying a river, with a policewoman and two female teachers consoling her.

All her life, Teacher Liu’s father had been slandered and maligned. From a young age, she was pointed at by neighbors, and many children had blatantly talked about her father’s misconduct in her presence.

All the grievances were only cleared up today, but the price paid was exceedingly heavy. She had thought her father couldn’t stand the accusations and had hidden himself away in another city. She had always believed her father was still alive; she returned to teach here in hopes of using her own power to clear her father’s tarnished name, dreaming of seeing him again one day.

Unfortunately, all fantasies shattered the moment the soil was dug up; Teacher Liu met his father, the father who had persisted in doing the right things all his life.

The police officer on duty signaled Han Fei to enter the room next door, where they asked him many questions.

Dealing with police interrogations was as easy as drinking water for Han Fei; he had figured out the questions the police would ask on his way there, answering them as smoothly as if he were one of their own.

Not missing a beat, when Han Fei emerged from the small hut, the two interrogating officers were left with a sense of wanting more.

Seeing that Teacher Liu was still struggling to calm down, Han Fei did not rashly approach; he recalled the conversation between Fu Yi and Teacher Liu, then turned and walked away.

After a dozen minutes, he bought Teacher Liu’s favorite food from a supermarket, gently placed it at one corner of the table, and silently left.

"Every one of these women is so outstanding, Fu Yi, you really deserve to die."

Han Fei walked alone in the school corridor; the hatred that Fu Sheng had for him had diminished slightly, and if possible, he hoped that Fu Sheng could return to school.

The principal was arrested, and that bully parent had become a fugitive at large; there was probably no one in the school who would continue to target Fu Sheng now.

"If he could return to school, he should be able to see these positive changes."

To ensure that Fu Sheng was not bullied again, Han Fei visited the class Fu Sheng once belonged to.

On the podium, a male teacher with glasses was teaching a mathematics class. He spoke in a pretentious manner, apparently only favoring the students sitting in the front two rows, while ignoring the ones in the back.

Han Fei politely waited until the teacher had finished his class before he entered the classroom.

"Hello, Teacher, I would like to ask about a few things."

"Who are you?"

"I am Fu Sheng’s father."

Before Han Fei could finish, the math teacher’s face changed, showing impatience: "I still have to prepare for my next class; I don’t have time, ask someone else."

"Just five minutes. I just want to know who in this class has bullied Fu Sheng. I would like to talk to them so that they can get along well if Fu Sheng can come back to attend classes," Han Fei spoke very gently.

"Come back? I think it’s better if he does not return. With his personality, perhaps self-studying would be more effective for him."

"No one can isolate themselves from the community; I hope he can have learning memories like other children," Han Fei gave off an extremely patient vibe.

"He wasn’t bullied by any one person in the class; it’s his aloofness that is the issue. Let me be clear, even if he comes back to class, he will still sit alone in the corner, making it uncomfortable for him and everyone else," the teacher with glasses packed up his things, stood up, and was ready to leave, but Han Fei stood in his way.

"If the students are uncomfortable, shouldn’t a teacher try to guide them? How can you just give up?" Han Fei remained polite.

"Guide?" The teacher scoffed disbelievingly: "Some students can be guided, but some are simply hopeless."

"People can change, and I believe that Fu Sheng can become more outgoing," Han Fei sincerely said.

"What’s the point of superficial changes?" the male teacher seemed to despise Fu Sheng, "This trash can is now covered with my new trash bag, but none of the students think the trash can is clean, nor does anyone want to sit next to it."

"Everyone buys trash cans from the supermarket, but only the trash cans in the garbage dump are despised." Han Fei was getting angry now, "Sometimes it’s not the trash can that’s dirty, but the environment around it."

"What do you mean?" The math teacher slammed his book on the lectern, his voice rising a lot. He felt that Han Fei was also scolding him.

"I’m trying to talk to you nicely, and here you are making snide remarks." A coldness sparked in Han Fei’s eyes, his gaze as sharp as a cutting knife, fixed on the male teacher’s neck, "Yesterday I hit your principal, afterwards I was fine, but your principal was taken away by the police."

Only now did the male teacher realize the severity of the situation, and unconsciously, he stepped back two steps, his body almost leaning against the blackboard, "This is a school, a place for teaching and educating, do you think I would be afraid of you?"

"I don’t need you to be afraid of me, I just need you to treat everyone equally, including educating all the students, Fu Sheng included." Han Fei glanced at the male teacher’s shaking legs and without further ado, walked towards the lectern, stopping in front of a desk.

The fat boy who had led the bullying against Fu Sheng was sitting there, no longer possessed of his usual arrogance, trembling and seemingly still not accustomed to the change in his status.

Yesterday, he was still a rich second generation, with power and influence at home, today he became a criminal’s son, and his usually good friends had all distanced themselves from him.

"Previously, you isolated Fu Sheng, continually bullied him, and now you’re also tasting what it feels like to be bullied and treated with cold violence, aren’t you?" Han Fei sat in front of the fatty, his gaze sweeping through the other students in the class.

His memory was excellent; he hadn’t forgotten anyone in the video who had bullied Fu Sheng.

"You are still children, and talking about empathy with you won’t make you understand, but remember, one day, you might also become the person who is isolated and bullied, and hopefully, by then, someone will speak up for you."

Han Fei originally wanted to lecture those students further to smooth the way for Fu Sheng’s return to school, but he now realized that wasn’t necessary.

Upon leaving the classroom, just as Han Fei walked out of the school building, he suddenly heard a system notification.

"Attention player number 0000! Liu Lina’s hatred for you has decreased by one point, totalling a decrease of six points."

Moved, Han Fei turned back to look.

Teacher Liu stood behind a window, lonely, holding the things that Han Fei had sent over.

"Sorry." Han Fei’s eyes were full of regret, he didn’t linger, and turned to leave.

Taking a cab home, as Han Fei neared the entrance to his home, he saw his wife haggling with a street vendor.

He got out of the cab early and quietly walked over.

"Coca-Cola chicken wings for dinner?"

Han Fei’s voice suddenly sounded, startling his wife who was choosing chicken wings. She turned around and, seeing Han Fei, her eyes filled with surprise, "Usually you come home late, but now you’re coming home earlier each day? It’s not even half past five."

"I want to spend more time with you and the child." Han Fei naturally took the bag full of groceries from his wife’s hands, his face covered with a happy smile.

"But that doesn’t mean you should leave work early." His wife looked at Han Fei, suddenly stretched out her hand to tidy up his dusty collar, "Have you encountered any problems at work? Don’t overexert yourself, if you are too tired, just take a good rest."

"I’m not tired." Han Fei suddenly remembered that he seemed to have taken off his clothes while shooting that morning, and the dust on his collar was rubbed off then, "Let’s go home, today I’ll make you Coca-Cola chicken wings and some crispy fried chicken wings—the kind that will definitely make Fu Tian cry from envy."

"You should rest well, I’ll cook," his wife said with a gentle expression on her face, the hatred in her eyes slowly replaced by confusion.

"That won’t do, I want to show off my cooking skills." Han Fei had planned to cook for a while, as he didn’t have much time left and wanted to create more memories for his family in the limited days he had.

The couple went home together and after Han Fei changed his clothes, he and his wife entered the kitchen.

After preparing the ingredients and washing the chicken wings and side dishes, Han Fei was busy when his phone, left in the living room, suddenly rang.

His wife’s reaction was more pronounced; her hand trembled slightly, a situation that seemed all too familiar.

Sometimes Fu Yi would even return home to eat, but then rush back to the office due to a phone call for "overtime."

"Phone, phone." Fu Tian was a cute child; he took Han Fei’s phone and ran into the kitchen with it.

Seeing Fu Tian come in, his wife’s expression changed slightly. Previously, Fu Sheng hated anyone touching his phone, and he would always end up yelling at his wife because of it.

"I’m washing the meat, can you take it for me?" Han Fei asked without even looking up, his tone casual.

His wife, somewhat unsure, wiped her hands and then answered the call, "Hello."

"We are reporters from Old Street News, and we’d like to interview Mr. Fu Yi about his brave deeds in assisting the police with a case."

Hearing the voice from the other end of the phone, his wife’s heart dropped back into her stomach, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Han Fei, who was washing chicken wings, no longer had to touch the master-level acting switch, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead as if nothing had happened, though his heart was still pounding.

"Who is it?"

"It’s a journalist." The call fell into a brief pause; his wife held the phone to Han Fei’s ear.

"Hello, Mr. Fu Yi, we would like to interview you."

"It’s too late today; I’m spending time with my family. Come to the office tomorrow for the interview," Han Fei said, then asked his wife to hang up the phone, "Ah, on TV again, what a hassle."

"Is Dad going to be on TV again?" Fu Tian was more excited than anyone. Perhaps for the young boy, his father was the most impressive person.

"Don’t spread the word everywhere, keep it lowkey." Han Fei, proud of himself, prepared his signature dishes as Fu Tian excitedly ran around the kitchen, and his wife watched the scene, her gaze growing tender. She didn’t want much; a little happiness was enough.

Half an hour later, the aroma had started to waft through the house and Han Fei placed the food on the dining table.

Fu Tian couldn’t wait any longer and sat obediently in his chair, while his wife began serving the rice.

Once everyone was seated, Han Fei glanced upstairs.

He took a deep breath, took the plate from his wife, placed the delicious food he had cooked into bowls, and then carried the plates upstairs.

Gently knocking on the door, Han Fei, as usual, placed the plates at the door of Fu Sheng’s room, but just as he was about to leave, the door lock of Fu Sheng’s room suddenly turned.
