Chapter 255: The Final Moment!

Chapter 255: Chapter 255: The Final Moment!

"The Spider’s remaining half-heart is inside the Doctor’s chest?"

Han Fei had previously guessed that the Spider’s remaining half-heart was in Butcher’s house, but he hadn’t expected the Doctor to get there first, not only finding that half-heart early but also managing to steal some of the Manager’s abilities.

"Writer cut away the decaying half-heart, only leaving behind his own goodness, but it seems that something went wrong in the process."

From the outside, Butcher’s house had been one of the few seemingly normal buildings in Beast Alley.

Now, Butcher’s house resembled the Doctor’s punctured heart, with collapsed staircases and extensively damaged walls.

The air was thick with a foul smell, with black and red colors encroaching on the building from two directions, and despair hung over everyone inside like oppressive dark clouds.

The Doctor, lying in the operating room, clutched at his opened chest with a sharp scalpel in his hand.

"Still can’t merge, even though I am you, I could do better than you."

The Doctor’s expression was frightfully twisted; he was out of time.

The Flesh Spider, rebuilt from flesh and blood outside the building, was hammering at the door, and Xu Qin, who had completely lost control inside, had targeted him.

Being targeted by two different forces, the Doctor felt immense pressure.

He had been preparing for this day for a long time, using all of Beast Alley’s evil to assimilate and nurture the decaying half-heart, then to take the other half-heart containing Writer’s kindness and gentleness, thus achieving complete control over Beast Alley.

The idea was beautiful, but his plan encountered problems at the crucial moment.

First, the Writer who had been killed began to return in another form, then, more unbelievably, the Flesh Factory was destroyed, and someone had sneaked into the Blood Pool to shatter the other half-heart.

These unexpected events forced the Doctor to advance his plan, and then he encountered the uncontrollable Xu Qin.

For others, Beast Alley’s curse was deadly poison, but for Xu Qin, it merely made her more excited and insane.

All the contingencies the Doctor had prepared were of no use; the pig-faced monsters with tattooed totems on their bodies could only slow down Xu Qin’s steps, without the ability to kill her—they too were products of the curse.

Those Outsiders who had taken benefits were even less reliable; they were now considering retreat.

Escaping the building didn’t necessarily mean death, but fighting with Xu Qin and the Flesh Spider outside would definitely result in their souls scattering; this was a multiple-choice question with only one option.

"Doctor, what do we do now? Didn’t you say doing this could save everyone? Heal everyone’s illnesses?" A woman was standing in the operating room, plain in appearance but exceptionally gentle, her voice feels like a breath of spring air.

"I can indeed cure your illnesses, but who will save me?" Half of the Doctor’s beastly face distorted, revealing a strange pattern beneath the ugliness, like half a butterfly’s wing: "Greed is the original sin, especially after having possessed it once; I can’t let go now."

The Doctor gripped the scalpel tightly and stabbed towards the half-heart in his chest!

The fresh red blood of the Spider spilled onto the Doctor’s chest, then turned black.

"If I can’t have the perfect you, then let me destroy you by my own hands and sew your corpse onto my chest!"

The Doctor’s face became increasingly ferocious, and the butterfly pattern became even more distinct.

The heart beating in his chest was continuously pierced, bleeding crimson, and the veins throughout the entire building trembled violently as if in pain.

The monsters outside went crazy, having already collapsed the outer wall.

The woman in the operating room tried to stop the Doctor, but after seeing his fierce and pained expression, she chose to stand silently beside him.

The heart that represented goodwill was beating slower and slower, and as it struggled less strongly, countless black Blood Silk sprouted from the Doctor’s body, forcibly drilling into the Spider’s heart.

Mixed in with the numerous black Blood Silk were a few other things.

Among everyone present, only Han Fei, protected by the Rebirth Saber, witnessed this scene.

The patterns on the Doctor’s cheeks were fading, those eerie patterns following the black Blood Silk towards the Spider’s half a heart.

Under the cover of the masses of black Blood Silk, the patterns quietly attached themselves to the remaining half of the Spider’s heart.

"The Butterfly is taking action? Is the Doctor the personality lured by the Butterfly? But why is there only half a butterfly wing pattern on the Doctor’s face? Could it be that another personality has also been seduced?"

Without thinking, Han Fei put Ameng down from his arms; one cannot be too careful. If Ameng were the other lured personality, then holding onto Ameng would be courting death.

In truth, his current condition wasn’t great either, as the curse from Beast Alley had already taken effect on his body. Hunger felt like an invisible rope slowly strangling his brain, preventing him from staying rational and constantly impacting his normal thoughts.

He didn’t know how much longer he could hold on. He had to kill the Doctor or escape the building before he lost his sanity.

The monsters gathered around the Doctor were attracted to Xu Qin, creating a bloody hell there. Pressured by the curse, the Pig-faced Monster paid with its life to delay Xu Qin’s progress.

The Outsiders swayed by the Doctor rushed towards the perimeter of the Butcher’s house, engaging in battle with the Monster that the Spider had become. They weren’t sincerely trying to help the Doctor, they were just looking for a chance to escape.

In the Butcher’s house, named for the slaughter of other lives, the most fierce battles of Beast Alley were taking place, all the butchers with blood-stained hands had become prey, with Grudges scattering their souls every moment.

From a distance, Han Fei silently watched everything. Beast Alley and the Death Building where the Butterfly resided were not on the same level, and yet the number of monsters and Grudges in Beast Alley was horrifyingly numerous.

Han Fei could hardly imagine just how terrifying the Death Building was and there was also a critical point.

In any large building he had entered before, the Managers themselves had no intention of harming him, whether it was the former Building Chief, Jin Sheng, or the Spider. None of them, as Managers, had specifically targeted Han Fei.

But if Han Fei dared to enter the Death Building, the Butterfly would surely use every means, control everything, and do everything possible to kill Han Fei.

"I’ve already been cursed by the Death Building; there’s no escaping it." Han Fei gripped the Rebirth Saber tighter, his eyes more determined than before, biting the tip of his tongue for the pain to keep him awake.

Beast Alley is just a stepping stone on the fourth floor; he absolutely cannot stop here.

"Doctor’s two forces were both tied up; now is a rare opportunity for me."

Estimating the distance between himself and the operating room, Han Fei took out the Beast Path Mask from his item bar.

The mask was a peculiar and fierce-looking beast face, seemingly ordinary and made of some sort of meaty skin.

After Han Fei put it on, his aura was concealed, and the curse of Beast Alley seemed to weaken. He no longer felt hungry; instead, he felt an intense sense of beastly nature.

Gnawing, crushing, devouring—the hunger in his body and his innermost desires were growing.

Han Fei called Cry and Yinglong to his side, and the three approached the operating room from three different directions.

Cry, who did not wear a mask, walked in the open, and her piercing cry enveloped the surroundings.

Almost as soon as Cry appeared, the Teacher personality standing by the Doctor’s side became alert, her face, no matter how gentle it seemed, gradually morphed.

When Cry drew closer, the skin on her face cracked, revealing crisscrossing black scars hidden underneath.

Some people bear wounds hidden beneath the skin, invisible on the surface, yet exceptionally deep.

The Teacher’s body began to distort, her mutation reflecting her twisted love for the Doctor—she respected the Doctor, believed in the Doctor, thought the Doctor was the only normal one among all personalities, and only by following the Doctor could she find healing and redemption.

To prevent Cry from affecting the Doctor, the Teacher personality drew Cry away, leaving the Doctor alone in the operating room.

As he repeatedly stabbed his scalpel into the heart of the Writer, attempting to assimilate the increasingly weak heart, Yinglong, wearing the No. 6 subordinate’s mask, appeared silently.

With no chit-chat or hesitation, Yinglong went straight for the Doctor’s chest, firmly obeying Han Fei’s orders—a command from the Shop Manager was his standard.

"Why do you still block me after putting on a mask? Only I can save you, you poor things deceived by him!"

The Doctor still lay on the hospital bed, and as Yinglong approached, the bed beneath him shattered, and eight bloody legs sprouted from his back.

Each grotesque leg was twisted from flesh, as the Doctor could never become the prime Spider personality, so he made himself more similar in another way.

Legs with human faces etched on them struck towards Yinglong, and the operating room echoed with the Doctor’s grating laughter; he tore off his hypocritical mask to reveal his true self.

The Doctor’s alternate personality had no intention of healing anyone; his existence served to tell everyone that they were all patients, all abnormal.

Only when everyone was abnormal could the Doctor’s alternate personality stand at the center; thus, when the prime Spider personality made changes for the sake of the adopted child, the Doctor was the first to resist.

The operating room’s shelves were knocked down by the thick legs, scattering items all over the floor; Yinglong dodged with difficulty through the gaps, his wounds not yet fully healed, and there was a significant gap in strength between him and the Doctor.

According to the levels of Grudge, the Doctor was already a very troublesome Large-scaled Grudge.

If the Doctor hadn’t been busy assimilating the Spider’s heart, Yinglong might not have had the chance to resist at all.

"Why run! Why are you obstructing me! Don’t you want to be normal again? Don’t you want to return to your true self?" With each word the Doctor uttered, dark red blood silk seeped from beneath his body, intertwining into a black net within the operating room. His voice, capable of influencing one’s mind, resembled tangible spider silk, slowly ensnaring his prey, "No longer a lackey to anyone, no longer a substitute for others, we too can live like him. Is such a modest request also seen as extravagant?"

Eight twisted limbs of flesh madly stabbed towards Yinglong, the black blood silk net limiting his movements, making him appear as a helpless little bug. His desperate struggles were merely laughable in the Hunter’s eyes.

The Doctor’s body constantly leaked blood, his skin cracking inch by inch.

The symptoms listed on the medical record all manifested, and the Doctor himself had ingested that special "flesh," only managing to temporarily suppress all the negative side effects.

Now, exerting his full force, the symptoms emerging after consuming that type of "flesh" began to spread across his body, and he was starting to lose control.

The skin on his limbs cracked like poor-quality ceramics, the abdomen bloating, the belly skin nearly transparent, revealing the organs within.

The eight ferocious flesh-made legs flailed wildly. At this moment, the Doctor had become a human-shaped Spider, becoming what he intended to be, yet he hadn’t acquired the idealized beauty he longed for.

Immense pain hit him as the Doctor had to assimilate the Spider’s heart, control the spreading disease, and relentlessly assault Yinglong. Preoccupied with these three tasks, he failed to notice another figure lurking nearby.

Concealing his presence entirely, Han Fei emerged from the Doctor’s blind spot, clutching the edgeless saber, and as the Doctor turned to face him, Han Fei’s body launched forward like an arrow!

A mere human, armed with a slaughter saber, charged fearlessly towards the Evil Ghost.

"Rebirth!"

Countless arms grasped the hilt, the blade as thin as a cicada’s wing materialized in an instant, shining like starlight as it sliced across the Doctor’s chest and belly!

"Bang!"

The bloated stomach was effortlessly slit open. As a Large-scaled Grudge, the Doctor never anticipated someone getting so close, nor did he expect to find such a sharp slaughter saber in Beast Alley.

Han Fei had initially planned to behead the Doctor but upon noticing the evanescent blood silk near the Doctor’s body, he realized he couldn’t approach the neck. A reckless assault would waste this opportunity.

For safety, Han Fei chose another vital spot.

The blade descended, piercing directly through the Doctor’s chest and abdomen.

Having made a successful strike, Han Fei did not hesitate to use the secret of touching the soul’s deepest part to grasp Yinglong and make a run for it outside.

The Rebirth Saber is an F-level slaughter saber, and the wounds it leaves on a Grudge are almost unhealable because even the most intense hatred and despair struggle to shake the character deep within humanity.

The stomach and chest, torn open, were unable to heal, and this was not the worst for the Doctor.

A chunk of flesh that was crawling out of his belly suddenly lunged for the half-heart in his chest cavity!

The numerous black blood silks snapped, the Spider’s heart wrapped in flesh tumbling onto the floor as if alive, crawling towards the Spider Flesh entity outside the building.

Everyone in the Butcher’s house who was still conscious fixated upon that chunk of meat. Gazing collided as they simultaneously rushed towards it!
