Chapter 236: Han Fei’s Slaughter Saber

Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Han Fei’s Slaughter Saber

The repugnant pig-faced monster could not enter the blood pool, and the hooks controlled by the factory manager were blocked by other residual souls using their bodies, its entire fatty body shaking with rage. Never before had someone pushed it to such an extent.

The pig eyes, full of blood silk, bulged out as the factory manager stared death at Han Fei, who was still climbing upward. The man, covered in wounds, seemed like he could collapse at any moment, yet he continued to shatter the manager’s comprehension with a bloodied body.

The limits in the factory manager’s eyes were broken by Han Fei time and again. In that seemingly weak body, which it could crush with one hand, there appeared to be a power it couldn’t understand at all.

Once again, the manager manipulated the huge hook, but more and more people began to help Han Fei. Those residual souls, who retained the most important aspects of their humanity, blocked the sharp hooks with their own bodies.

On the pillar in the middle of the scales, there remained a ghastly bloodstain, marking the path where Han Fei had climbed.

Unafraid of death, undaunted by hatred, Han Fei finally reached the top of the scales.

Unable to sever the chain with his boning knife, Han Fei embraced the back of Midnight with the secret that touched the depths of their souls, attempting to remove him from the hook.

The inside of the Flesh Factory was in complete chaos as more and more pig-faced monsters hurried back.

As time rushed by, just when Han Fei was about to rescue Midnight, a clinching bar in the distant trench net was smashed open, and a pig-faced monster, with human teeth wrapped around its waist, came over, dragging Wang Sheng with it.

It had appeared in the same area as the one-eyed pig-faced monster before and seemed to have seen the scene where Han Fei fought desperately with the one-eyed monster to save Wang Sheng.

Seeing that monster clutching Wang Sheng’s neck, Han Fei immediately realized the danger; his body was already at its limit, and now his physical strength value was merely thirteen, relying mostly on the boost from the ghost pattern.

With absolutely no strength left in his arms, Han Fei looked into the inhuman eyes of his opponent, and made an exceedingly insane decision.

"Don’t worry about me first!" he said.

Han Fei let the Black Giant Python leave the ghost pattern, allowing it to pour the dark energy stored in his body into Midnight.

In such a desperate situation, Han Fei still made the most rational judgement. Midnight was much stronger than him, and even a partial recovery of Midnight’s strength could change the current passive situation.

Almost the moment the Black Giant Python left Han Fei’s body, the ghost pattern dimmed, and the blood filled with malicious intent in the veins, no longer blocked, permeated into Han Fei’s body.

The agonizing pain blurred his consciousness as if the tainted blood was boring directly into his soul, biting away at his memories bit by bit.

Without the protection of the ghost pattern, Han Fei was just an ordinary person, and the pain washed over him wave after wave.

He struggled to open his eyes to look at the edge of the Blood Pool.

The pig-faced monster with live human teeth wrapped around its waist held Wang Sheng by the shoulder, dipping his legs into the Blood Pool.

The blood, filled with filth and malicious intent, crept up Wang Sheng’s legs, scorching his soul. The child endured pain that even adults would struggle with, yet he did not cry.

The small face looked up at Han Fei on the scales of humanity, trying very hard to squeeze out a smile, but what he managed was only what he thought was a smile.

Having lived in Beast Alley, he had never seen a real smile; to survive, to avoid being discovered by monsters, his mother’s last words before her death were to quietly stay beneath her corpse and not cry.

He had never learned to smile nor to show tears; the child’s last expression toward Han Fei resembled a little flower bidding farewell to the world.

Fragile and withering away, but at least it had once bloomed in desolation.

Seeing this, Han Fei tightened his grip on the boning knife.

Maybe sensing what Han Fei was about to do, Wang Sheng bit the hand of the pig-faced monster as it lifted him, using more force than ever before.

Taken by surprise, the monster shook its hand fiercely and threw Wang Sheng into the Blood Pool.

The small body was eroded by the blood, with countless malicious intents surging into him.

Wang Sheng was too small. He did not turn into a pig-faced mask, but with his own strength, he couldn’t swim to the column.

His body sank bit by bit, and he seemed to have made peace with it.

Looking at his fading hands, the pain was replaced by another emotion. He didn’t quite understand what it meant to be alive. Having fought so hard to survive, was it just to have one more look at this alley filled with beasts?

"Splash!"

As Wang Sheng’s consciousness was slipping away, he heard a sound and opened his eyes to look up.

The battered Han Fei, with a Boning Knife clenched in his teeth, had jumped into the Blood Pool!

Blood silk and malicious intent quickly wrapped around his body, burrowing into his wounds. In less than a second, his own blood vessels began to rupture.

A somewhat rough hand reached for Wang Sheng, who subconsciously grabbed it.

Just as Han Fei was about to take the child away, black chains emerged from the bottom of the Blood Pool, ensnaring both of their bodies.

Wang Sheng tried to push Han Fei away, but it was too late.

The black chains dragged them downwards; the force was something they simply couldn’t contend with.

Han Fei, who had been holding onto Wang Sheng’s arm the entire time, finally reached his limit; he truly had no strength left.

His body sank deeper into the Blood Pool, the feeling of suffocation growing more intense, but at that moment, Han Fei suddenly felt someone grab his shoulder, a force trying to pull him towards the surface.

Struggling to turn his head, Han Fei saw one of the twin brothers grabbing him, desperately swimming upward.

Over the bottomless Blood Pool bloomed one after another of incredibly vibrant blood flowers, the echoes of Cry, replenished with some Dark Energy by the assistance of the Black Giant Python, were rescuing one residual soul after another.

Without any verbal communication, the rescued residual souls all leapt into the Blood Pool, enduring pain akin to skinning as they swam towards Han Fei and Wang Sheng.

As Cry and the last residual soul jumped into the Blood Pool, the colossal Black Scales completely tilted and collapsed.

The Pig-faced Mask floated on the surface of the Blood Pool, glaring at each other with expressions full of poison and malice.

Those residual souls clinging to their humanity all swam towards the depths of the Blood Pool, being dragged towards the unfathomable darkness, yet not a single one retreated.

Enduring fear and torment, these incomplete souls finally saw the true nature of the world.

At the very bottom of the Blood Pool, there lay half of a rotting heart.

All of the malice and suffering were emanating from that heart, the sins of Beast Alley nothing but evil from half a heart.

"Could that be the Spider’s half-heart? If one half signifies evil, then there should be another half signifying good, right? Where’s the half-heart that represents goodness?"

Thick Black Chains sealed the half-heart at the bottom of the Blood Pool, and the instant Han Fei saw it, he decided to destroy it.

"This rotting half-heart must be the source. Destroy it, and Beast Alley will likely be destroyed too!"

Right hand gripping the handle, Han Fei was no longer prepared to save his energy for the swim back. He put all his remaining strength into his right hand and then swung the blade toward that rotting heart!

The sharp hatred hit the rotting heart, barely even grazing the skin.

Endless Black Blood surged forward, and the wound Han Fei left instantly healed.

No wonder the Manager hadn’t set up any defenses at the bottom of the Blood Pool; in the Blood Pool full of malice, nothing could truly damage that rotting heart.

Han Fei’s hand no longer had the strength, but he stubbornly brandished the knife. He didn’t want to give up.

The blade moved more slowly through the waters, and when Han Fei could hardly swing it anymore, a tiny hand also pressed onto the knife handle, Wang Sheng wanting to help Han Fei.

Before Han Fei could react, numerous arms joined Han Fei in grasping that knife handle.

All the residual souls’ bodies became even more battered under the washing of the bloody waters, slowly vanishing, yet none let go, and none retreated.

The edge of the blade raised, a vortex emerged in the Blood Pool, and the strength of all the residual souls concentrated in Han Fei’s hand as he swung the blade downward!

The cold, hard encrustation on the heart was peeled layer by layer; when it was half cut, the Black Blood surged, and the blade along with that stench-ridden heart were locked in a stalemate.

Endless Black Blood continuously restored the injury on the half-heart, while the Boning Knife in Han Fei’s hand kept making noises, cracks increasingly spreading across the blade, until finally, with a crisp snapping sound, the Boning Knife shattered in the Blood Pool!

Holding the handle, looking at the fragmented blade, Han Fei had never felt as desperate as he did now since entering the Deep World.

His only knife was now broken, and he could save no one!

It was a scenario that seemed all too familiar from his childhood, memories deeply wounded, his consciousness on the verge of collapse.

His eyes no longer held any light, all his struggles apparently unable to change anything; he seemed, after all, to be the same ’him’ as before.

Blood water flooded into his body, and as Han Fei felt his own heart about to rot away, Wang Sheng’s hand grabbed him.

The boy, just like Han Fei had once risked everything to save him, now showed the same expression Han Fei had back then.

He was imitating Han Fei’s kindness, trying hard to flash a handsome smile, but in the end, his mouth just cracked slightly.

This must have been his last expression left to the Mortal World; after smiling, he voluntarily crashed into the shattered blade.

The body dispersed in the blood water, but the last glimmer of humanity surged into the Slaughter Saber.

It seemed Wang Sheng was just the beginning; as one by one, the residual souls collided with the Slaughter Saber, they imbued the last of their Character and humanity into Han Fei’s Slaughter Saber!

All Slaughter Sabers in Beast Alley contained a Curse, the more Dead Souls they imprisoned, the stronger the Grudge, the more terrifying the Slaughter Saber.

Yet with Han Fei, there was a complete turnaround.

Beast Alley was filled everywhere with the ugliest aspects of humanity, but even in this hell on earth, there lay also the most beautiful human traits.

Countless residual souls flowed into the saber, forging the most unique Slaughter Saber!

Hand on the hilt, Han Fei’s Brain Sea echoed with the system’s notification.

"Rebirth (F-rank Exclusive Unique Slaughter Saber): This is a Slaughter Saber that has never appeared before in the Deep World. It has no edge, yet it can cut through everything, kill ghosts upon sighting, slay gods upon meeting!"
