Chapter 154: Chapter 154: What’s in the Jar?

"A well-known horror film director?" Han Fei hesitated for a moment, "Director Jiang, I actually still want to develop towards comedy. I prefer seeing everyone’s smiles to giving them thrills and making them afraid."

"I know you like seeing everyone’s smiles, and everyone also wants to see your smile. However, at this stage, I suggest it’s better for you to stick to horror films. Once you’ve earned enough money and don’t have to worry about living expenses, you can try more types of plays," Director Jiang pointed out bluntly.

"Act naturally?" Han Fei touched his face, "Okay, I will have a good talk with him tomorrow."

After hanging up the phone, Han Fei still couldn’t calm down inside. His first starring movie was about to be released, and he was lying if he said he wasn’t nervous.

"Even if it’s just to see tomorrow’s movie, I must survive in that school tonight."

After eating something casually, Han Fei located Li Xue, and through persistent nagging and coaxing, he learned some new combat skills from her.

These techniques were uncomplicated but simple and deadly.

Some of the force application techniques couldn’t be found online; they were entirely summarized by Li Xue based on her own combat experience, which greatly helped Han Fei.

If Han Fei had only mastered basic fighting before, he was now genuinely developing in the direction of professional combat.

At three in the afternoon, Han Fei returned home.

After taking a bath, he started browsing books related to education and then watched many videos and teaching insights of frontline teachers.

He truly immersed himself in the role of a teacher, even continually giving himself mental suggestions.

"Affable, inclusive, patient, respectful, I must treat all children equally, making them see me as a fatherly figure."

Han Fei practiced alongside the teachers in the videos until nightfall.

Pulling the curtains close, Han Fei stood in front of the wall and had memorized all the information related to Yimin Private Academy.

As time ticked by, the layout of the dormitory bathroom surfaced in Han Fei’s mind. He took a deep breath and put on the gaming helmet.

A blood-red tide poured down, furiously assaulting the city, and amidst a sea of blood, Han Fei opened his eyes.

A faint foul smell drifted past his nose, yet Han Fei still stood inside the ground floor bathroom stall, which was very quiet around him.

Fingertips cold from the landlord’s ring, Han Fei gently pushed open the stall door, then took out the previously obtained red school uniform from his item bar.

As soon as the dark-energized school uniform was taken out, the darkness in the corner began to twist as if a Black Snake was slithering out from there.

"You’ve hidden it quite well." Xu Qin’s pet was itself very adept at hiding, capable of deceiving even the Unspeakable entities, let alone the ghosts and monsters in the school.

However, compared to its hiding ability, its other abilities were not so remarkable.

The "Black Snake" that crawled out of the corner climbed onto the red school uniform, swallowing the dark energy and grudge energy within, and its body began to slowly swell.

"The little guy’s ability is to devour, but it’s too small right now and can’t swallow anything substantial." Han Fei realized that those items containing dark energy weren’t much use to him; it would be better to feed them all to Xu Qin’s pet. If it could recover quickly, then Han Fei would also have some self-protection capability.

Allowing the "Black Snake" to feed on the school uniform’s dark energy, Han Fei quietly moved to the bathroom entrance.

The glass fragments on the ground had been cleaned up, and the broken window had been replaced with a new one, the only difference from last night being an additional sign on the superintendent’s door — No Trespassing.

The Spiritual Altar that Han Fei had initially left under the bed had been found by the superintendent and thrown under a pile of confiscated high-power electrical appliances.

"Last night, four girls died in the building, but it seemed as if nothing had happened, and the apartment’s door was still locked."

The superintendent was not in the room, and Han Fei wanted to enter the room to retrieve the crying Spiritual Altar and simultaneously check if there were any spare keys for the rooms.

He had just pushed the door to enter the superintendent’s room when he heard a door open in the middle of the first-floor hallway.

Hiding behind the door, secretly peeping, Han Fei saw a sixteen or seventeen-year-old boy stooping and sneaking toward the superintendent’s room.

Initially, the distance was too far, and Han Fei couldn’t see clearly, but as the boy came closer, Han Fei recognized him at once.

This boy was the little thug from Yimin Private Academy who had committed suicide by jumping off a building, skeletal with a square face, big eyes, hair half yellow and half black, and an arm tattooed with the character for "hate."

"How did he get inside the dorm building?"

The victim was approaching, and since Han Fei had encountered him, he naturally wouldn’t let him go.

As the male student was leaning by the dorm supervisor’s window and slowly peeking inside, Han Fei also poked his head out.

Their eyes met, startling the male student.

"Shh! Don’t talk!" Han Fei, as the other boy backed away, grabbed him by the collar with one hand and covered his mouth with the other, displaying the ease of someone experienced in such matters.

After the male student calmed down, Han Fei slowly released his hands.

"The dorm supervisor? Why is there someone new?"

"This place isn’t safe. Let’s go to the dorm you just came out of to talk."

Han Fei put Cry’s Spiritual Altar into an electric pot, covered it with the lid, and carried the pot out of the dorm supervisor’s room.

They returned to Room 104 in the middle of the corridor and closed the door; only then did Han Fei breathe a sigh of relief.

"Why do you have a key to this dorm room?" Han Fei asked the male student, placing the electric pot containing the Spiritual Altar under the bed.

"I-I am a student here, of course I have a key to this place!" the male student replied defiantly.

"You are Zhang Guanxing, seventeen years old. A year ago, you inexplicably dropped out of school and started hanging around with local thugs, even calling yourself Wild Dog." Han Fei had memorized all the victim’s details. "I know you very well, so I hope you stop lying now."

The male student was taken aback that Han Fei knew so much. He shrank his neck, looking slightly uneasy.

"Tell me, how did you get into the dorm building? What are you doing here? Why do you have a key to this room?" Han Fei’s expression was not too stern, but it still conveyed an authoritative presence.

"What’s it to you?" the male student glanced at Han Fei, seemingly disliking adults.

"Some things have happened in this school. I’m a new teacher, and it’s my duty to ensure the safety of all students, including those who used to study here." Han Fei said clearly, also signaling his desire to protect the male student in front of him.

"You’re a new teacher?" The male student finally looked up, hesitating as he spoke, "I used to live in this dorm, and the key is from back then. I’m not here to steal anything; I just occasionally want to come back because I have nowhere else to sleep."

"Nowhere to sleep?"

"After my parents got divorced, my dad just drank heavily. When he came home, he would beat me and vomit everywhere. That wasn’t a home; a dump would be cleaner." The male student covered the tattoo on his arm.

"So how did you get into the dorm building?" Han Fei was more curious about this, given that the dorm building’s main door was securely locked and all first-floor dorms had burglar grates installed.

"My best buddy lives in Room 201 on the second floor. Usually, I climb up to their room using the burglar grates, then sneak back here." The expression on the male student’s face was strange, as if he was still hiding something.

"If there’s anything you want to say, just say it all. I’m a teacher; I can help you."

"Actually, I’m trapped here now; I can’t get out." the male student slowly confessed, "Just now, I was trying to steal keys from the dorm supervisor."

"Trapped here? What do you mean? Can’t you just climb down from the second floor like before?"

"My buddy had an accident, and it seems like the people in his dorm..." the male student hesitated for a long time before finally speaking, "all died."

"All died?!"

"Some time ago, my buddy found a jar somewhere in the school. He brought the jar back to the dorm, and started talking to it every night. Afterwards, his grades improved dramatically." The male student’s eyes carried a hint of fear.

"I thought he had started studying hard, but when I visited their dorm later, I found not only him, but all his roommates gathered around the jar."

"They were pale, staring inside the jar, continuously muttering something."

"At first, I didn’t pay attention, but a few days later, when I visited again, I found my buddy was gone! His three roommates were still around the jar."

"I was scared, ran out of their dorm, and immediately called my buddy."

"The call connected, my buddy was speaking normally, just with a bit of an echo."
