Chapter 129: The Building Chief is Back!
Chapter 129: Chapter 129: The Building Chief is Back!
Little Eight swiftly ran back into the corridor with the soil from the flower bed scooped into a porcelain bowl. She took a flower seed from the Shallow World out of her pocket and gently buried it in the soil.
With her innocent eyes fixed on the porcelain bowl, she squatted motionless on the ground, seemingly curious when the soil exuding dark energy and the stench of decay would bloom into bright flowers.
"Little Eight..."
Youfu stood next to the girl. When he saw the seed being buried in the soil, a flash of pain crossed his eyes, and he suddenly felt very tired.
Glancing at the city enveloped in darkness outside the corridor, Youfu leaned against the wall, recalling some recent memories.
A glimmer of light finally appeared in a life overwhelmed by despair. That figure was like a seed buried in the soil of the Underworld, wanting to bloom amidst the stench of decay and dark energy.
Everyone thought it was impossible, yet he always managed to bring long-lost hope to everyone.
"Maybe he will never come back."
Youfu looked at the world outside the corridor, at the endless night, feeling very cold inside, "I thought that after coming here, I would never feel the pain of losing a family member again, but unexpectedly..."
"Bang!"
A loud noise shattered the night’s silence, and the somewhat sorrowful Youfu turned his head toward the source of the sound, his eyes widening in disbelief!
Han Fei had returned!
Han Fei, missing for a day and a night, had come back carrying a coffin!
"What the hell?!"
Youfu could hardly believe his eyes; that agile figure was so familiar, and even though he was carrying a coffin that continuously bled, he still ran incredibly fast!
"Youfu! Open the door! Open it fast!"
The roaring voice came from Han Fei’s mouth. Hearing this familiar voice, Youfu immediately opened the corridor door.
"Bang!"
Han Fei rushed into the corridor and set the coffin on the ground: "Call everyone! Go get everyone! I’ve brought the shop manager!"
"The shop manager?" Youfu was completely stunned. He was still immersed in grief just ten seconds earlier, and his emotions hadn’t had the chance to shift.
After locking the corridor door behind him, Han Fei, disregarding the wounds on his shoulders and back, ran upstairs again: "Forget it, you and Little Eight keep watch over the coffin! Don’t be careless!"
Rushing up the stairs, continually knocking on doors, the whole building echoed with Han Fei’s voice.
"Xu Qin!"
"Ying Yue!"
One by one, breaths woke up, and an increasingly terrifying dark energy surged towards the downstairs.
The coffin left on the ground floor continued to bleed; the thick coffin lid made a noise, and Little Eight and Youfu stepped back slightly, sensing an overwhelming fury from within the coffin.
"What did the Building Chief do to it?"
Blood stains spread across the coffin through the cracks, and visible fissures emerged on what was once a whole. The shocking curse and resentment collided against the surrounding walls.
When everything reached its peak, the coffin on the ground suddenly exploded!
A Blood-colored Paperman stood amidst the remains, covered in wounds, his consciousness slightly fuzzy, eyes filled with a resentment not even the Blood Sea could wash away.
During the critical moment of fighting in the Death Building, his consciousness suddenly became disordered, and instead of being the trump card, he was counteracted, struck severely by the inhabitants of the Death Building.
He knew something was wrong in the convenience store, but his consciousness was detained by the inhabitants of Death Building, preventing him from returning immediately.
Only when his unease intensified did he rush back, despite being severely wounded.
His consciousness returned to his body, but when he opened his eyes, an even more shocking scene unfolded.
He was not inside the convenience store! The coffin storing his body had been moved to a completely unfamiliar place!
The convenience store’s storeroom was filled with curses; any outsider entering would be attacked by all the Papermen, and the store employees were also cursed. Not to mention fighting back, if they left the store without his permission, they would endure unimaginable pain.
No one could move the Coffin under such circumstances! Foolproof!
The Shop Manager had also left the convenience store before and nothing had ever happened until today.
With a splitting headache, the Shop Manager stared intensely at Youfu and Little Eight, unable to comprehend where things had gone wrong.
It was not until ten seconds later, not until the Shop Manager saw Han Fei returning to the ground floor, that all his blood began to reverse flow, his eyes nearly torn apart by rage.
"It’s you!"
Han Fei had wounds on his back from the curse, and within the ghost patterns that swirled with dark energy around his body, a scapegoat was continuously hissing and begging for mercy.
"If you had awakened just a minute earlier, I guess I would have been done for, too bad, such a pity."
"Die!" Ever since the Paperman Store Manager had gained its own consciousness, it had never suffered such indignation.
Han Fei was the employee it had personally recruited a few hours ago. It had sensed a strong humanity in Han Fei and wanted to possess everything about him, but it had underestimated the terrifying nature of that humanity.
It was only a few hours later, not even the first night had passed! Its own body, along with the coffin, had been sent into a trap of no escape!
"Die for me!"
Seeing the crazed Shop Manager, Han Fei backed away, "Sister, this is what I worked really hard to get for you."
The sharp dinner knife pierced the blood-red curse, and another wound appeared on the palm-sized Paperman.
The Shop Manager couldn’t get close to Han Fei, it sensed the same cursed presence in Xu Qin as it had in itself—they were both curses!
"Die, all of you must die!"
The coffin exploded, and the remaining blood and flesh gathered onto the Paperman Store Manager, whose body kept growing larger, and ghost faces began to appear on the blood-red paper.
When its body swelled to over two meters, it charged at Han Fei regardless of everything.
The Shop Manager had gone mad with rage, even if it had to die, it wanted to take Han Fei down with it.
The paper was slashed by the dinner knife, but it had no effect on the Shop Manager, its body could transform at will, and as long as its core was unharmed, it could be said to be undying.
"Being under the influence and heavily injured, how could this guy still resist so fiercely?"
The Shop Manager’s arm stretched toward Han Fei, his arm was chopped off by the dinner knife, but immediately a new paper arm grew out from the stump, and the severed arm on the ground didn’t disappear but turned into a Paperman charging at Han Fei.
The dinner knife continually chopped the Shop Manager’s body, and paper fluttered down like snowflakes, but they didn’t die—instead, they turned into smaller Papermen with faces full of spite, staring fixedly at Han Fei.
"Papermen are skilled in casting curses, I must be careful." Han Fei activated his ghost patterns, letting dark energy envelop his entire body, and he also took out a cigarette from his item bar, ready to light it at any moment.
There were many Papermen, and Xu Qin alone couldn’t fend them all off. But just as those Papermen were laughing sinisterly and charging at Han Fei, a faint crying echoed in the corridor, and a frail little boy walked out.
He looked weak and pitiful, but his ability was very bizarre—all the Papermen he touched ended up collapsing to the ground, the spite in their eyes disappeared, leaving only miserable crying faces.
This child appeared to be able to forcefully inject the emotion of sadness into the bodies of curses and fierce ghosts, causing them harm.
Not far from the little boy, a giant eye suddenly opened on the spotted wall.
The pitch-black pupil seemed to contain another world, trapping any Papermen that got close to Han Fei deep inside its dark prison.
"A Curse Aggregation? Two Grudges?"
The Paperman Store Manager was shocked, but it no longer had a way to retreat.
The hatred in its eyes was so intense, it almost materialized; the Paperman Store Manager knew it had little chance of surviving the night and glared ferociously at all the residents of Death Building.
"If you want to kill me, you’ll have to pay a price! I’ll leave you nothing but curses!"
Having drained all the power from the corpses in the coffin, the Paperman Store Manager’s body rapidly grew larger, and black characters quietly appeared. Then, dipped in its own blood, it attempted to draw the faces of several people from inside the building onto its body.
"Block it! It’s trying to curse kill us! This is the Curse Item’s final trick!" Xu Qin shouted loudly, but her dinner knife couldn’t immediately harm the core spot of the Paperman.
As she grew increasingly desperate, an overwhelmingly terrifying grudge slowly emerged.
"Boom!"
Eight thick arms crashed to the ground, and a horrifying Blood-colored Evil Ghost tightly grabbed the Paperman, using the most primal, most violent method—punch after punch, it brutally smashed the Paperman’s self-consciousness!
Chaos! Evil! Madness!
Despair gathered continuously, each punch from the Blood-colored Evil Ghost carried eight different pains.
The building shook, and in merely five seconds, all the Papermen on the ground had turned to ash, leaving only the original palm-sized Blood-colored Paperman.
A tremendous surge of dark energy and malevolent force drifted out from the Paperman’s cracked body, all absorbed by the neighbors.
The dark energy that the Paperman Store Manager had been accumulating since its consciousness formed was now devoured by the neighbors of Building One, all showing satisfied expressions.
Long after the neighbors had consumed the dark energy inside the Shop Manager’s body, they surrounded the Paperman Store Manager.
The Shop Manager’s self-consciousness was completely destroyed, now the Blood-colored Paperman was just a plain Curse Item.
