My ‘Healing’ Game
Chapter 128: Madman!

Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Madman!

Han Fei’s mind had concocted a crazy plan. If the plan succeeded, he would manage to take control of the convenience store smoothly; a single mistake, however, would lead to a gruesomely ugly death.

"A knife’s edge cuts through fame and fortune, and riches are sought through risks, you’re right, we can’t miss this opportunity."

Han Fei’s eyes gradually narrowed, hiding the dangerous gleam deep within his pupils.

"I always feel like what you’re talking about isn’t quite the same thing," said the face on the White Wax, now distorted. It simply wanted to escape the convenience store. "The Paperman Store Manager is extremely dangerous. If you just take me away, we escape far away, that’s enough! Please don’t get any extra ideas!"

"I’m just a temp on his first day at work. What kind of extra ideas could I possibly have?" Han Fei stared intently at the White Wax. "You’ve been here a long time, you should know the history of that woman, right? What kind of place is the Death Building she and the Shop Manager are heading to tonight?"

"The Death Building is possibly the most dangerous building in this district, located next to a hospital two blocks away. The woman in the wedding dress came from the Death Building; she used to be a resident there." The person’s face in the White Wax placed all its hopes on Han Fei, now sincerely answering his questions: "The flesh for the Shop Manager found by the woman was brought from the fourth floor."

"A hospital two blocks away?" Han Fei recalled the map in his mind. The only nearby hospital was Yimin Hospital, where the previous Building Chief had also marked a red cross.

"Don’t tell me you think the Shop Manager at the hospital two blocks away can’t come back immediately?" The face in the White Wax expressed helplessness: "If the Shop Manager’s physical body is threatened or touched, his consciousness has special methods to return to his body. He’s very cautious and definitely won’t let his body face any danger easily."

"Is there a way to prevent his consciousness from returning?"

"It depends on the strength of his opponent. If the Ghosts and Monsters fighting him can hold his consciousness, preventing him from being distracted, then it could delay his return. Another method is to drive his consciousness into chaos and madness; when he is in such a state, he isn’t able to clearly sense his physical body anymore," the White Wax said, feeling the conversation with Han Fei was exceedingly dangerous, like setting off fireworks in an armory. "If there’s nothing else, let’s hurry and leave! I guarantee I can help alleviate the pain the curse brings you!"

"Was the Paperman Store Manager not so powerful in the beginning?" Han Fei asked the White Wax once again.

"It’s just a Curse Item that gained its own consciousness, most of its power accumulated bit by bit."

"The back alley wall is sealed with many employees’ Residual Souls. Why doesn’t the Shop Manager just annihilate them?"

"The Resentment in the Residual Souls strengthens its power, and the bit of humanity left in them makes it appear more human." The White Wax knew Han Fei wouldn’t help without clear answers, so it patiently explained: "In other words, the Shop Manager’s consciousness contains the consciousness and humanity of those countless Residual Souls. Those aren’t naturally its own, but are forcibly taken through a curse-bound contract."

"To work here, you first have to take a photo, then nail the photo together with a Paperman; it’s the process of casting a spell! Once the curse is completed, the Paperman Store Manager can strip away your humanity at any time." The White Wax earnestly persuaded, "While it’s still not wary of you, let’s quickly leave! As long as you’re far away from the Curse Item, the curse’s power will weaken. That’s also why the Store Manager forbids the staff from leaving the shop!"

"It seems like you suspected, the Shop Manager’s consciousness has merged with the humanity of all the employees. If I can rally all the employees to rebel together, it could indeed impact the Store Manager. Normally, this might not mean much to the Store Manager, but if it occurs during a life-and-death struggle, even a slight distraction could expose a deadly flaw, and perhaps even plunge its consciousness into madness," Han Fei planned everything to prevent the Store Manager from returning to his body, needing to buy some time.

"I can’t believe you’re on your first day of work here; the Shop Manager recruiting you really is its bad luck," said the face in the White Wax, now slightly afraid of Han Fei.

"Enough of that useless talk; I’m doing this to help everyone," he said as he picked up the candelabra from the table and walked to the coffin: "How can I use the Paperman’s physical form to determine if the Shop Manager is injured?"

"When the Shop Manager fully unleashes its power, the Blood-colored Paperman will suck the blood from the bodies in the coffin, and black characters will appear on its body," the White Wax gave up resisting and decided to stick with Han Fei through thick and thin.

"Then you stay here and watch," Han Fei set the candelabra on the coffin lid and ran alone into the employee locker room.

"Hey! Don’t leave me here!"

"Are ghosts afraid of coffins?" Han Fei responded dismissively and then tore all the photos off the walls of the employee locker room.

Holding the photos, he went to the back alley and addressed the restless Residual Souls on the wall, first explaining the current situation inside the convenience store.

When the imprisoned convenience store employees learned that the Shop Manager was not currently in the store and might be severely injured, some of them began to stir.

"Esteemed predecessors, these photos are the contracts you once entered into."

"If the Shop Manager genuinely wanted to run the store well, I wouldn’t have said a word. But as you can see, it intimidates and tempts us, curses our bodies, strips us of our humanity, and imprisons us in this wall!"

"It has squeezed every bit of value from us, and yet still refuses to let us go!"

"It’s taking a mile when given an inch; everything we have has become a bargaining chip in the Shop Manager’s hands!"

"Are you really willing to continue enduring this? Do you really want to be tormented by it bit by bit until your souls scatter?"

Han Fei’s emotions grew more and more intense, his voice rang out powerfully, and every word he spoke was resolute.

"We can’t keep going on like this, we really can’t. Tonight is a rare opportunity, and we must make it pay the price!"

Han Fei clenched one fist, while he gently placed his other hand on the wall, "My power alone is limited, but if we unite, we should be able to seize a chance."

"Is it to continue being trapped in the walls, enduring torture and pain, or to rise up, like moths to a flame, the choice is all yours."

"I won’t force you to choose—I will lead the way, even if I’m the only one, tonight I shall stand up without any regrets!"

A few seconds later, Han Fei suddenly felt his arm growing heavier, and turning his head, he saw several fading arms stretching out from the wall.

They couldn’t completely leave the wall, reaching out their arms was the limit.

Seeing so many supporting him, Han Fei was also shocked; he hadn’t expected the Shop Manager to have harmed so many ghosts.

"I will not let everyone down."

Standing in the back alley, Han Fei shared his plan.

He had communicated with all the remaining Residual Souls of the staff. At his command, every insignificant Residual Soul would use their last bit of strength to resist the Paperman.

After discussing the plan, Han Fei returned to the convenience store’s storeroom.

He stuffed the piece of White Wax into his pocket and then arranged all the shelves against the wall, clearing a path.

"What are you doing?"

"Is this coffin heavy? It looks much smaller than a normal Coffin," Han Fei began moving his arms.

"Why do you ask? Friend, what are you doing?"

"The more powerful the Curse Item, the stronger the spell it emits, direct contact might affect you," Han Fei took a deep breath, then walked out of the storeroom, pushing the outside shelves aside.

After everything was ready, Han Fei stood beside the Coffin, his eyes fixed on the Paperman.

Time ticked by, and Han Fei’s forehead sweat with nervousness until past three in the morning when the Paperman inside the coffin suddenly cracked, and it began to frantically absorb the bloodstains on the corpse inside!

With the infusion of blood, black names began surfacing over its body!

"Now’s the time!" Han Fei kicked open the door to the trash room and shouted towards the back alley.

Screaming voices of tattered souls were heard, and the entire street heard the Dead Souls’ cries!

The Paperman in the Coffin was gathering energy at a critical moment, when suddenly, as if it lost control, more and more cracks appeared, and the smile on its face completely disappeared, turning hideously grotesque.

"The time has come!"

Han Fei closed the Coffin lid and, using all his strength, lifted the Coffin on his back.

His spine creaked under the pressure, Han Fei’s face twisted completely as he carried the Coffin housing the Blood-colored Paperman, frantically rushing outside the convenience store!

"Get out of my way!"

He smashed through the convenience store’s glass door, the Soul Bell clanging wildly, as Han Fei, watched by countless astonished Fierce Ghosts, carried the Coffin across the road!

No obsession dared to obstruct someone as insane as him—unprecedented!

"Bang!"

The iron gate of the Happiness Residential Community was knocked open, as Han Fei, carrying the Coffin, rushed directly towards Building One!
