My gorgeous wife
Chapter 341 - 318: Is This the Person You Called?

Chapter 341: Chapter 318: Is This the Person You Called?

The next day, Li Chen woke up.

As soon as he opened his eyes, the only thing left on the bed was the scent of Lin Yi’s body, but the person himself was already gone.

Lin Yi always maintained a good daily routine, as going to bed early and rising early was really good for the body. Good sleep could serve beautifying purposes, unquestionably beneficial for both men and women.

After Li Chen got up, he brushed his teeth, washed his face, and then went downstairs, only to see Lin Yi busy making breakfast.

Having tried Lin Yi’s dinner the night before, Li Chen had gained basic confidence in Lin Yi’s cooking skills, finally absolved from enduring the torture of dreadful cooking.

Without making a sound, Li Chen approached Lin Yi from behind. Lin Yi was still focused on making breakfast, a smile on his face showing he was in a good mood. His simple outfit and grooming were exceptionally charming. Even through his pants, those buttocks sketched out an enticing oval shape.

Li Chen walked over, found it tempting, and unapologetically lifted his hand to smack that buttock. Instantly, Lin Yi jolted as if electrocuted, turned his head around, and saw Li Chen, then coyly said, "What are you doing?"

"Baby, how about you drop that ’What’?" Li Chen hugged Lin Yi from behind, reveling in the pleasant softness of a beautiful person in his arms, which always made him reluctant to let go.

Lin Yi blushed. "No way, I still have to go to work later, and you will keep it up for an hour without stopping if I don’t stop you now."

Li Chen blinked and chuckled, accepting Lin Yi’s backhanded compliment with pleasure.

It wasn’t long before Lin Yi finished preparing breakfast, and then the two sat down to eat.

"Are there any issues with your company?" Li Chen asked.

"No issues." Lin Yi replied, "I can handle all the company matters."

Li Chen nodded. After finishing the meal, they both went to their company together.

As usual, Lin Yi headed to her office, while Li Chen was about to go to the lab, but just then, his phone rang.

"You are my little, oh little apple, no such thing as too much affection for you..."

The cheerful sound of "Little Apple" emerged again, this time inside the cramped elevator. Instantly, everyone’s gaze turned to Li Chen at the front.

What era was this person living in, still listening to that?

Li Chen didn’t mind at all and answered the phone as soon as he listened was Ning Wan calling.

"Cheencheen, are you free right now?"

"Yes, is it about the girl from yesterday who needed healing?" Li Chen asked.

"Yes, come over now."

"Okay, just wait a moment for me."

Li Chen hung up, and as the elevator doors opened, he walked out and then directly took the stairs.

An employee waiting for the elevator looked up just in time to see Li Chen pass by; startled, he thought, Wait, wasn’t this guy just ahead of me getting on the elevator? How did he come walking from my side?

Could it be that staying up too late for work he was seeing ghosts?

The person patted their head and turned to look again, only to find Li Chen was already gone.

Really seeing ghosts, my goodness, the person suddenly felt uneasy and quickly wiped the sweat with a tissue.

Meanwhile, Li Chen had already taken a taxi and was heading to Ning Wan’s home.

Just as Li Chen got into the taxi, a figure with a lowered hat raised their head behind him, watching the departing taxi with a malicious gleam in their eyes!

She had followed Li Chen to Linchuan after tracking him for many days and had pinpointed the location of his office.

"Li Chen, you killed my entire family, and I will make you pay!"

"You and I, undying vendetta!"

The person stood up, a bag in hand, and walked toward Lin’s Group. The security did not stop her, and she entered the lobby, went straight up the stairs, and found a room on the second floor. After entering and exiting, she continued this method on several floors without anyone detecting her peculiar behavior. Even the surveillance cameras failed to capture anything odd.

...

"Aunt Ning, I’m here." Li Chen knocked on the door, and Ning Wan, with a smile, invited Li Chen in.

"Cheencheen, wait for me a moment. I’ll change my clothes."

After Ning Wan changed clothes, she took Li Chen downstairs and then hailed a taxi, heading towards the north side of the city.

"Cheencheen, you must do your best to heal my friend’s daughter," Ning Wan said.

"Aunt Ning, I’ll do my best." Li Chen nodded and smiled. Ning Wan nodded back and also showed a smile, "I believe you can cure her."

"Aunt Ning, is that friend very important to you?" Li Chen asked.

Ning Wan nodded and smiled whimsically, "He even chased after me back in the day."

Li Chen was stunned for a moment, then smiled as well, truly not expecting this.

Soon after, Ning Wan led Li Chen into a residential complex, entered a building very familiarly, and then went up to the fifth floor to press the doorbell.

It wasn’t long before the door was opened, and a middle-aged man appeared in front of them.

"Ning Wan?" Xuu Hedong was taken aback.

"What’s wrong? Am I not allowed to visit my old classmate, or are you not happy to see me?" Ning Wan said, feigning displeasure.

"Haha, why not? I couldn’t be more welcoming. Come on in," Xuu Hedong said, inviting them inside.

Xuu Hedong’s gaze shifted from Ning Wan to Li Chen, puzzled, he asked, "Who might this be?"

Just as Li Chen was about to introduce himself, Ning Wan spoke up, "Let me introduce him. This is my future son-in-law, Li Chen. Don’t you dare skimp on the wedding gift when my daughter gets married."

Sweating, what kind of introduction was that? Li Chen felt utterly speechless.

"I didn’t expect you to have even picked out a son-in-law, impressive," Xuu Hedong laughed. "Sure, just let me know when the wedding is, and I’ll certainly be there."

After finishing, Xuu Hedong added, "But, old classmate, you didn’t come today just to tell me about your son-in-law, did you?"

"Of course not, I’ve come today specifically for your daughter’s illness," Ning Wan said. "Didn’t you say last time that you couldn’t find a cure? Well, today I’ve brought someone who can cure your daughter’s disease."

Xuu Hedong was visibly moved, and at that moment, a pretty young girl, around twenty-one or twenty-two, emerged from the room. Hearing what Ning Wan had said, her eyes lit up and she came over immediately: "Aunt Ning, are you serious?"

"Old classmate, I really owe you for this," Xuu Hedong got excited. They had made many trips for their daughter’s condition, but the hospitals had always said her heart disease was congenital and incurable. At best, it could only be managed to suppress the symptoms, but eradication was impossible.

Because of the heart disease, Xuu Fang had never dared to engage in vigorous activities. She had lived cautiously all her life, never daring even to swim. After several hospital visits, both Xuu Hedong and his wife were extremely protective of her.

So now, hearing Ning Wan claim she had found someone who could completely cure the heart disease, how could they not be excited?

"Ning Wan, where is the person?" Xuu Hedong, eager, looked over Ning Wan’s shoulder, but saw no one at the door.

On hearing this, Ning Wan’s expression became a bit odd, while Li Chen coughed twice, thinking, "Really, do I not look like a doctor at all?"

"Has the person you invited not arrived yet? No problem, we can wait. Come, old classmate, let’s sit," Xuu Hedong enthusiastically urged them to sit, while Xuu Fang very obediently went to the kitchen to bring out some tea.

"Old classmate, we are really worried about Xuu Fang’s illness; we don’t have this condition, so how come she has it?" Xuu Hedong sighed. "If you truly manage to cure this problem for my family’s Xuu Fang, I’ll be indebted to you for life."

Ning Wan glanced at Li Chen, then said to Xuu Hedong, "This person, I have already brought to you."

"They’re here?" Xuu Hedong stood up and looked towards the door again, then puzzledly said, "I don’t see anyone."

Damn!

Li Chen slapped his forehead, wondering if he was that easily overlooked.

Ning Wan found it amusing and pulled Li Chen over, "Hedong, what are you talking about? The person I’m talking about is my son-in-law."

Xuu Hedong was startled, and so was Xuu Fang by his side. The hope they had held was instantly dashed.

"Old classmate, you’re not joking, are you?" Xuu Hedong looked at Li Chen, his eyes filled with deep skepticism.

This young, and can cure diseases, even heart disease?

I don’t believe it, not for a second.

Ning Wan laughed, "Hedong, you don’t believe it? Let me tell you, my son-in-law’s skills in traditional Chinese medicine are excellent. I guarantee he can cure your daughter’s heart disease without even using medicine."

"Old classmate, don’t boast," Xuu Hedong shook his head, chuckling bitterly. "I’ve tried countless hospitals for both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, running all over Linchuan City, and even going to Yanjing and Haishang City, but no doctor there could help."

Xuu Fang, looking at Li Chen who then blinked at her and smiled gently.

He does have a good smile but curing diseases? Xuu Fang shook her head inwardly, holding no hope for Li Chen.

"Where am I boasting?" Ning Wan retorted, glaring, "Do I look like someone who boasts? I’m telling you, if I say my son-in-law can cure her, he can."

Xuu Hedong was somewhat frustrated, "Ning Wan, I know you mean well for my daughter, but some illnesses really can’t be cured. Let’s drop it."

Seeing the despondent look on Xuu Hedong’s face, Ning Wan grew even more anxious. Why wouldn’t they listen to her?

"Hedong, did you know I had rheumatism? The rheumatism that troubled me was cured by my son-in-law," Ning Wan said. "Your daughter’s heart disease, my son-in-law can cure that too."

Xuu Hedong didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, "Do you think heart disease is like rheumatism? It’s not that easy to cure."

Xuu Fang’s anticipation also dropped, she and Xuu Hedong held little hope for Li Chen.

"Old classmate, these are two different illnesses, completely incomparable," Xuu Hedong shook his head.

Ning Wan was beside herself with urgency, and Li Chen also felt quite speechless. Was he being underestimated that much?

Seeing the two of them, Li Chen, somewhat shyly said, "Uncle, why don’t you let me try? Although curing heart disease isn’t as straightforward as treating rheumatism, it’s still worth a shot."
