"No problem at all." The young officer smiled, "Officer Yu said you are a benefactor to the Public Security Bureau, so helping out a little is nothing."

As the officer left, Li Chen touched his nose, thinking how big his reputation at the Public Security Bureau had become.

After the officer had left, Yang Xin walked a short distance with Li Chen before she opened her mouth, "Okay, that’s far enough from me."

"Won’t you walk a bit further?" Li Chen’s face immediately fell, "After all, it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other."

After leaving Yang Xin’s house, Li Chen didn’t go back to the company but instead strolled around, as there was plenty of time.

From noon till evening, Li Chen spent the entire day outside, almost becoming completely familiar with Linchuan City.

By evening, Li Chen had returned to the villa.

When he arrived at the villa, he found only Lin Yi inside.

"Brother Cheen, you’re back," Lin Yi said, visibly delighted to see Li Chen, who noticed Lin Yi donning an apron and holding a spatula.

Instantly, Li Chen’s heart fluttered and he quickly said, "Beautiful wife, let me help you."

"No worries, I’m almost done here," Lin Yi said with a light smile.

My wife, you’re fine, but soon I’ll be in trouble!

Li Chen’s heart skipped a beat, fearing that tonight’s meal might be another round of terrifying cooking.

Lin Yi headed back into the kitchen and, despite Li Chen’s wishes, insisted on finishing the cooking alone.

Helpless, Li Chen could only wait outside until Lin Yi had finished preparing the meal.

"Has Aunt Wang returned yet?" Li Chen asked while eating.

Lin Yi gently served him more dishes, "Not yet, Aunt Wang said she’ll come to Linchuan in a few days. Eat slowly."

Seeing Li Chen wolfing down the food, Lin Yi felt blissful. For a woman, three things are sources of happiness: first, when a man spoils her by buying things without a word; second, when a man devours the food she cooks; and third, lying down and watching the man above her sprint desperately.

"Xiaoxiao spent today at school, she’s been falling behind and hasn’t caught up with her classes," Lin Yi replied with a smile.

"First, let’s eat," Lin Yi said, her cheeks flushed. Somehow, since that last time, she had never refused any of Li Chen’s requests.

"Alright."
