Chapter 142: Chapter 121 I’m Not in the Mood to Give a Discount
A group of people followed the same route back, passing by the food stall they had visited earlier.
Suddenly, several police officers appeared and blocked their way.
"It’s them!"
Upon hearing this, Li Chen glanced over and saw the owner of the food stall standing nearby, staring at him fiercely.
"Come with us to the police station."
The officers were icy, said no more, grabbed handcuffs, and directly moved towards Li Chen.
A flash of sharpness crossed Li Chen’s eyes, and with a quick move, the officer who reached out felt a blur before realizing his own hands were handcuffed.
"You dare attack a police officer?!" the officer shouted angrily, while the other three officers also grew furious and immediately went on guard.
"I advise you not to make any rash moves," Li Chen said calmly.
"Hey, what are you doing?" a few girls nearby immediately got angry. "So what if you are police officers? Does being police allow you to arrest people at will?"
"Exactly, why are you arresting us? We haven’t broken any laws, what right do you have to arrest us?" the girls angrily questioned.
"Come to the station with us, and you’ll find out," the officers remained cold.
Li Chen asked the girls around him to calm down, and said to the officers, "I’m afraid you won’t be able to take me with you."
"You smashed up someone’s shop, wrecked it completely—is that reason enough?" one officer said coldly.
"Oh? Is that so?" Li Chen looked toward Li Wan not far away, smiled, and the sight of his smile sent a chill through Li Wan.
"Why don’t you ask me why I smashed the shop?" Li Chen asked lightly.
"You think there’s a justification for smashing a shop?" an officer sneered. "Explain it at the police station."
"Hey, you’re police officers—can’t you be reasonable?" the Perfumer girl got angered. "Don’t you know he was ripping us off? He charged us three thousand eight hundred for a meal less than two hundred. Smashing his shop is letting him off easy. He even called the underworld to beat us up; why can’t we smash his shop? If you’re going to arrest us, what about him?"
The officers looked at each other, one of them said, "We’ll deal with his case later, but we need to take you to the station first. Rules and order must be upheld."
Li Chen scoffed, "Tell me, how much money did he give you?"
"What did you say?" one officer raised his voice.
"Stop pretending," Li Chen said disdainfully. "Scared to admit it? Isn’t it just him paying you to come and arrest me? I am right here; if you’re able, take me back, otherwise I might just make you spend the night right here."
The four officers, their facade exposed, grew angrier, "Stop talking nonsense. If you don’t come with us today, I’ll list you as a wanted criminal right away."
"Don’t scare me. We all grew up eating food," Li Chen said seriously. "If I become a wanted criminal, then you would have already been in jail or the hospital."
"Why talk so much nonsense? Just take him back," one officer said, frowning.
The four reached for their handcuffs, but Li Chen moved swiftly, and suddenly, all the handcuffs from their hands ended up in his, catching them off guard.
Li Chen weighed the handcuffs in his right hand and tossed them, "Is that all you’ve got?"
Four police officers flashed a hint of horror in their eyes, but immediately, one officer’s hand rested on the holster at his waist.
Li Wan, not far away, took a deep breath when he saw Li Chen’s action, thinking this man seemed far more terrifying than he had imagined.
"Mr. Cheen, hit them!" the girls earlier had immediately spoken up, "These cops are not real cops, they actually take money to bully us, they are in cahoots with that shady store owner!"
Lin Yi frowned slightly, she didn’t really want Li Chen to take action, knowing full well the identities of those policemen, attacking them would certainly be labeled as an assault on the police.
Li Chen stood in front of the four policemen, who, like facing a formidable enemy, stared intently at him, feeling an exceptionally oppressive aura emanating from him.
"I’m giving you a chance," Li Chen said indifferently, "leave before I get angry."
"Who do you think you are?" the officer, who had his hand on his gun, suddenly burst out in anger, drew his gun, and aimed at Li Chen, but suddenly his vision blurred as if a gust of wind had swept past him, though after blinking, Li Chen was still standing there.
"Now, come back to the station with us, otherwise, even if you die here, no one will pursue it," the officer said coldly.
"Are you sure?" Li Chen raised his right hand, a magazine appeared.
The policeman was stunned, checked his own gun, and realized the magazine was empty, staring at Li Chen in horror, wondering how he had done it.
Li Chen squeezed out the bullets one by one, offering a faint smile, "I did give you a chance."
The four policemen suddenly felt a sense of foreboding, sensing a chilling coldness in his smile.
As soon as Li Chen’s voice fell, he made his move, the four only felt a gust of wind before a pain coursed through their bodies as Li Chen’s strikes landed on them.
A palm, a finger, a fist, a hand blade, the bodies of the four men felt as if their strength had been drained, collapsing limply to the ground.
Almost instantaneously, all four policemen lay paralyzed on the ground, unable to move, yet acutely aware of everything outside.
"Tonight, you’ll lie here," Li Chen said indifferently, then turned toward Li Wan who, seeing Li Chen’s gaze, couldn’t help but tremble before retreating.
Seeing Li Chen approaching, Li Wan managed a face uglier than a cry.
What to do?
"You’re quite impressive," Li Chen remarked offhand.
"Rest assured, there definitely won’t be a next time. Trust me," Li Wan’s forehead sweated coldly.
"Of course, I trust you," Li Chen revealed a brilliant smile, but to Li Wan, it seemed fraught with immense scheming.
"There’s nothing money can’t settle, don’t you agree?" Li Chen said, still smiling. Li Wan’s heart relaxed, but the next second, Li Chen’s words made him almost want to crash and die: "How much have you made these days? Remember, that number better not be less than five million, otherwise, I will be very displeased."
"That’s too much, I don’t have that much," Li Wan struggled to say.
"That’s too bad. I’m not in the mood for discounts. Tell me, which hand and foot do you want to keep?" Li Chen remarked indifferently.
Suddenly, cold sweat poured down Li Wan’s face, damn, this man was incredibly ruthless, definitely a ferocious figure from the underworld.
"No problem, no problem, I’ll transfer it right away," Li Wan hastily said.
