Chapter 467: Chapter 467: The Silly Son Says Himself, He is the Baby of Yuran’s Family
But Xi Gu was certain that the day the truth came to light, if he won, then Xi Nian would be beyond salvation. Should he lose, however, he would be tormented by Xi Nian to the point of wishing for death.
Moreover, his grandfather would certainly stand by, indifferent, and not interfere in the matter. Even if he died at the hands of Xi Nian, his grandfather would probably only comment, "Just a loser, a useless piece of trash."
Thinking of the indifference of the Xi Family, a poison-like ruthlessness tinged Xi Gu’s eyes.
He wanted to stand at the pinnacle of the Xi Family, wielding the power of life and death, so that the old man at home couldn’t humiliate him at will.
Ou Jinchu, as an international movie star, naturally had her own set of acting skills that could easily be accepted by everyone and allowed her to skillfully play her roles.
However, compared to actors who invested too much genuine emotion, her acting could only be described as technically high, yet low in resonance.
The filming progress of "Miss Rose" was very good. Whether it was Ou Jinchu or the young actor of Chinese descent, they all tried their best in performing their roles. For them, this was nothing more than a task, a job to be done and then finished.
The atmosphere of the "Miss Rose" crew was completely different from that of "City of Temptation".
In the "Miss Rose" crew, there was always a condescending and domineering sense of hierarchy, whereas "City of Temptation" was much more harmonious.
Yuran’s alternate account had long been exposed, and sometimes the crew members would tease her, "Sister Koi, let me make a wish, I want to..."
Every time this happened, Yuran would interject and stop the wisher, "Girl, young man, the Trevi Fountain in Rome is in Rome. Wishing to me, that’s not quite fair, is it?"
Yuran did not believe she possessed the ’Koi constitution’, after all those few instances were merely coincidences, like a blind cat running into a dead mouse, simply good luck with ancestors’ graves.
Others treated her as if she were a Koi, which always felt a bit odd to her.
Not to mention that a koi is a fish and she is a human being.
Being worlds apart from a Koi, and moreover, those few times she had been sincere. Now being asked to grant wishes on such a large scale, she couldn’t keep up. Grant a wish, my foot.
Yuran was very popular in the crew. Occasionally, she’d treat everyone to trendy milk tea, which the young ladies on the crew absolutely adored. Although Zhou Lianjia had been her adversary before, she always prioritized roping Yuran into joining her own company.
So in her spare time, she would joke with Yuran, "Is this how you win people over? Not even afraid of NGs."
Yuran curled her lips, "I call it ’doing what I can, everyone eats chicken’."
Zhou Lianjia, "..."
The atmospheres of the two crews were worlds apart. Xi Gu was oblivious to the dynamics within the "City of Temptation" crew. He could only learn what Xi Nian chose to reveal.
On the contrary to Xi Gu, Xi Nian’s side already had people infiltrated into the "Miss Rose" crew, reporting back all that happened within the crew to Xi Nian. As a friend of Xi Nian, Gui Yu would be the first to know the situation on the "Miss Rose" side.
Xi Nian, clutching his phone in hand, felt the imprint in his palm ache, "Gui Yu, I can’t lose."
To lose would mean all his years of patience, all the clues he had gathered, were worthless; it would make the sacrifices of Xi Yang and Xi Yan all for naught. He didn’t want such an outcome, and to take the initiative, he needed to hollow out the Xi Family’s headquarters in London.
After enduring in silence for many years, he could not allow his efforts to end in vain at this juncture.
Gui Yu clearly understood Xi Nian’s worries and nodded gently, "Don’t worry, both Buniel and I are well aware of the reason for your struggle."
...
Yuran swiped her card to enter the room and instantly felt something was amiss. Spotting the overcoat on the sofa, she smiled knowingly and walked slowly toward the bedroom. On the bed, a large and a small figure slept side by side, soundly. Zhizhi’s hands were both clutching Bo Yan’s ears.
Zhizhi had always had this habit - she needed to pinch someone’s ears to fall asleep. As a child, Yuran found it painful when Zhizhi pinched her own ears and kept fidgeting, so she trained Bo Yan to be her replacement, sacrificing Bo Yan’s ears to save her own.
And it worked wonders. Since then, Zhizhi preferred to touch Bo Yan’s ears even more.
The unexpected arrival of father and son had come without any warning, a complete surprise indeed. Changing her clothes, she climbed onto the bed next to Bo Yan. As soon as she settled in, Bo Yan woke up.
He carefully moved Zhizhi aside and turned to look at the person in his arms, "Not feeling well?"
Yuran nodded, "My stomach hurts a bit."
His voice was husky but his concern was unmistakable. Yuran acted coy, giggling. Seeing them, her mood lightened for no reason, and the pain seemed easier to bear.
She was very happy.
Bo Yan chuckled and moved her to Zhizhi’s side before rolling out of bed himself. Yuran’s hotel suite came with a separate kitchen, bedroom, living area, and bathroom. Bo Yan had already warmed up some brown sugar ginger tea for Yuran in the kitchen. He warmed it up, and now was the perfect temperature to drink.
Bringing a cup back to the room, Yuran was reclining, watching Zhizhi sleep soundly. Hearing the noise behind her, she quickly turned to see Bo Yan bring the brown sugar ginger tea to her lips. She curled her lips into a shallow smile, "Bo Yan, you’re so good to me, how could I ever bear to leave you?"
"You want to leave me?" Bo Yan’s laughter carried a chill. Yuran shuddered and hastily shook her head, "Of course not, I like you so much."
Bo Yan fed her the tea with his hand, then placed his warm palm on her lower abdomen, "I’ve brought you a heating pad. I’ll stay with you and Zhizhi for three days, and then we’ll have to go back."
Yuran nestled in his arms, distracted and with her back to Zhizhi, "Bo Yan, you’re so bold. Aren’t you worried about being recognized?"
Bo Yan raised an eyebrow, "Not at all worried. If you can’t accept that, then you might as well stop liking me. I’m satisfied with my work, and even if I don’t continue down the path of show business in the future, I won’t have to worry about food or drink, and supporting you won’t be an issue."
Yuran actually found it a pity, "But it would be such a shame. Bo Yan, you truly belong in this industry."
Bo Yan hugged her and shook his head slightly, "No one is born to stay the same. Now that I have my own family, I’ll prioritize balancing family life over my career. Of course, this is under the premise that I can provide for my family without worry."
Public figures do earn a lot and indeed have a duty to entertain the masses. Exposure naturally determines the extent of public discourse.
But ever since his debut, he’s been on a path unlike anyone else’s.
So he wasn’t worried, "I ran into Xi Nian in the corridor when I came."
After a while, Bo Yan mentioned this to Yuran.
Yuran was startled, "He recognized you and Zhizhi?"
Bo Yan replied, "That silly son of ours introduced himself as ’Yuran’s baby’."
Yuran stifled a chuckle as she glanced at the peacefully sleeping Zhizhi, unable to contain her amusement, "Well, that’s true. Zhizhi is indeed the baby of Yuran and Bo Yan’s family."
"Yes."
Bo Yan’s eyes smiled, "Zhizhi seems to like Xi Nian a lot."
It was a simple statement, but it set off alarm bells in Yuran’s heart.
