My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 496
The next day, Anton didn’t leave the house and concentrated on leveling up his ladder barbarian character. When hunger struck, he would briefly stop and eat the food that he had stored in his inventory and then enter his Diablo II system again to continue levelling up.
He was briefly interrupted by one of the guards. When he opened his bedroom door, Torbin told him that they were concerned about him not leaving his room. He told Torbin that he was practicing magic and next time, not to interrupt him. He also told the dwarf to tell the same thing to everyone.
Anton saw that the dwarf understood that he had made a mistake and promised that he would never interrupt him again, and Anton simply nodded. After that brief interruption, he returned to leveling up his ladder barbarian.
The real reason why he suddenly wanted to reach the maximum level for his ladder barbarian was that he found and crafted a unique amulet with the name “Beast Collar Amulet”. Normally, gamers would consider the amulet trash because it didn’t have the Fast Cast Rate option but its other options like plus three to Sorceress Skills, plus twenty to Dexterity, plus thirty to Strength, plus thirty to mana, plus five percent mana regeneration, and all resistances plus fifteen was probably the best amulet he could use in real life.
By the time evening came, he reached the maximum level for his ladder barbarian and immediately transferred the unique amulet from the game into real life. Anton immediately wore it, and he could feel the power it gave him. Not only that, he felt the twenty percent Vitality stat that the ladder barbarian gave him.
That meant that he only needed to level up the not yet created ladder Amazon to maximum level, and he would have completed one round of the new ladder update his Diablo II system gave him. He wasn’t even sure that there would be a new update after that because based on what he knew, the ladder event was every year, and come next year, when the new ladder arrived, he would be able to create brand new ladder characters and those characters would provide him new legendary items and new stats.
Even though the new update was powerful, Anton felt that it wasn’t enough and hoped that after completing the ladder Amazon, there would be a new one, but it could be that he was just impatient of increasing his power.
At first, he thought that once he completed all the characters in the ladder system, he would reach the Supreme rank, but he knew deep down that he was far from it. To be honest, Anton didn’t need the validation of being confirmed as a Supreme Mage. What he wanted was the power to contend with the Undead Coalition the moment they made a bid to conquer the world. He didn’t want to keep running anymore and just fight it out with them.
The next day, he told everyone that he would be delving the fiftieth floor of the dungeon of Balathar, and that information flabbergasted the four guards and the two maids.
“You’ve reached the Diamond rank!?” Torbin asked, and Anton simply nodded.
He could see that everyone grew highly excited upon learning that the master they were serving was a powerful mage adventurer.
“Will you need me to add more to the household budget?” Anton asked Ronia.
“The budget you gave me will last us a couple more months. How long will you be gone on your delve?” the maid asked, and Anton answered that it would be no more than a week.
Anton was telling the truth since he didn’t want to miss any letters from his father or sister that might arrive. That meant that he couldn’t stay beneath the dungeon for too long. He was surprised, though, when he saw that the maids and the guards were comforted at the knowledge that he wouldn’t be staying away for too long.
At first, he wanted to explain to everyone that he might receive letters from his family and he couldn’t stay away for too long, but decided not to, and left for the dungeon of Balathar.
When he arrived at the guild branch beside the Balathar dungeon, he requested the portal key for the deepest floor that he was allowed to dive into, given his rank. When Anton saw the guy behind the counter hesitating, he requested Elianah and informed the man that she was his point of contact for this branch. The man looked relieved and requested that Anton wait in one of the private booths beside the branch. He saw that the guy receptionist noted down the private booth that he entered into then went somewhere.
Inside the booth, Anton wanted to be more comfortable, so he retrieved a Frozen Orb air conditioner from his inventory. He also remembered that he had not eaten breakfast yet, so he retrieved some food and started eating. After a few minutes, though, someone knocked on his door and entered.
It was Elianah followed by the old mage, Tobias. Anton happily welcomed the two and asked if they wanted to eat as well. Surprisingly, Tobias said that he would, so Anton retrieved a few more plates of food from his inventory until the table was full of a delicious-looking spread. This was one of the things that Anton was proud of. He only collected the best of the best food that he found in restaurants.
Anton and Tobias started eating, and after a few seconds, Elianah was persuaded to join them. While they were enjoying the meal, Tobias asked him if he was sure that he was ready for the fiftieth floor of the Dungeon of Balathar.
“To be honest with you, I would prefer to dive deeper floors. The twentieth floor was so easy for me that I could complete it with my eyes closed, and I actually did sometimes. If you’ve read the reports about me, Elianah could confirm how short it takes me to complete the said floor. I want a challenge.”
Tobis looked at Elianah, and the elf woman nodded.
“The reason I’m hesitating is that, normally, a dungeon floor like the fiftieth floor needed to be tackled by a group, and you’re planning to solo it.”
Tobis paused for a while and finally reached a decision based on the old mage’s expression.
“I will allow you to dive into the floor, but we still need to follow the rules. You need to reach the next rank before you can dive deeper than the fiftieth floor. Please be careful. You are young and your potential is enormous. I don’t want to hear the news that you didn’t climb up after some time. Elianah will give you the book that will inform you on what is needed to complete the quests that will let you reach the next rank.”
After that, they continued eating and discussed mundane things. Anton enjoyed the conversation. Before he left, Elianah handed him the book that contained the things that he needed to gather on the fiftieth floor, and after that, he said goodbye to the elf and the old mage guild staffers.
He headed to the dungeon portal and entered it. When his gaze became clear, he saw that the fiftieth floor environment that the dungeon generated from him was a dark and gloomy world. He was in some sort of dilapidated street, and based on the ambiance, it was an undead biodome. Anton felt excited. He wanted to kill the monsters immediately, and this time, he wouldn’t rely on summons and would cast his spells directly at the enemies.
