My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 490
Anton headed directly to the dungeon portal when the guild staffer gave him the dungeon portal key. Knowing that only four or five dungeon delves were left before he could rank up his Adventurer Guild rank motivated him to work.
Normally, with things like this that did not require Anton to work hard, since the twentieth floor was easy for him, he would take his time and would do it lazily, but having a goal that was nearing completion made him want to get it over as soon as possible.
The fact was, Tobias, the old mage, told him that once he reached the Adventurer Guild’s Diamond Rank, the rank above Gold, he could switch to a harder dungeon, or he could continue diving the deeper floors of the Dungeon of Balathar.
It amused Anton that the Dungeon of Balathar was considered a middle-level difficulty dungeon, and Diamond rank adventurers could only dive until level fifty. The dungeon had one hundred floors.
Anton thought about switching dungeon once he hit diamond, but then he was already used to the guild people that was manning the guild’s branch near the dungeon of Balathar, and as a matter of fact, he was already assigned a dedicated point of contact, which was Ms. Elianah.
During the next seven days, Anton didn’t stop diving to the twentieth floor of the Dungeon of Balathar. Ms. Elianah even made a point of advising him to take a rest because those who became addicted to dungeon delving would exhibit psychological issues. The only thing he could tell the elf was that he was fine.
To be honest, Anton was fine. He was hardly fighting or even moving at all during his dungeon dive since his summons did all the work. The only thing he did was spend his time on top of his comfortable mini-tent that he constructed on top of his Dire Bear. He was either leveling up his ladder Barbarian, watching a movie, a television show, or animes, reading web novels, or eating delicious food. If he gets sleepy, he would take a nap, and if he thought that it was time for him to rest for the day, he would do so.
Because of his spells, he remained clean and healthy, so all in all, his life beneath the dungeon was good. The only problem was, he felt like he was beginning to behave like a hardcore otaku. Not wanting to spend any time with other people. He even started begrudging the time he was spending going outside the dungeon to submit his quest or exchange the mana stones that he received from the monsters for credit.
After his seven-day focused delving, Anton’s ladder barbarian leveled up to level eighty. It would have reached maximum level, but he returned to spending a lot of his time doing otaku stuff. Anton also earned a massive one hundred thousand gold coins that were now stored as credit in his Adventurers Guild bank card. Not only that, he completed the one hundred gold-level quests that were the requirement to move up the Diamond Rank. His inventory was also littered with items that he had received from the treasure chests that came from the dungeon floors. He still disliked those items since he felt like he was benefiting from dead adventurers, and frankly, he didn’t need any of them. Anton didn’t even bother learning the enchantments that the items had.
Anton planned to just leave them in the treasure room for his father to handle once Anders arrived from New Drennor. His high-level mana stones went up to twenty-seven, including the previous ones that he had received before.
Elianah gave him his new diamond card, and Anton was a little surprised at how pretty the card was. It looked like an actual diamond, and when his elven poc told him that it was really a diamond, he admired it again. After he stored it in his inventory, Elianah asked what his plans were. Anton told her that he planned to dive the lowest floor he could, given his rank, in the Dungeon of Balathar, but would only do so after a few days of rest.
While traveling home, Anton thought of the fact that his bank card now contained more or less, a massive 160,000 gold coins, and wondered if he should begin hunting for a mansion already. But he decided to hold off on that and just wait first for his father.
The dwarves and the two maids welcomed him back when he arrived home. The dwarves then told him that there were a couple of letters that had arrived. One was delivered by a small raven, and the other was delivered by the Mage Guild.
Before going to his room to read the letters that he knew came from his sister and the other one possibly from his father, he asked if there was anything important concerning the house that he had to attend to, and everyone assured him that everything was fine. Ronia told him that the budget he had given before, including their monthly pay, would cover two months, so there was nothing more he needed to give them.
The house was functioning perfectly, and everything was clean. Anton then asked the dwarves to follow him, and then he showed them the items that he had gotten from the dungeon. It was a massive number of items that made Torban and Torbin flabbergasted.
Based on the glow of the items, each one of them was enchanted.
“Do you know their enchantments?” Torbin asked.
“No, and I don’t really care,” Anton carelessly replied.
“If you want, we can hire a mage to check their enchantments. Once it was done, the mage would give you the list that would contain each one of its powers, and the charge would be based on the level of enchantments and the number of items,” Torban told him.
Anton agreed and let the dwarves handle it. He then went to his room to start reading the letters that had arrived.
He was correct in his assumptions that the letters were from his father and sister. Anna told him that she was doing fine in her studies, but needed some high-level mana stones. Something to do with her studies.
The other letter was from Anders telling him that he had just arrived in New Drennor the day before and would now start looking for Selena, Norma, and Belue’s families. His father then told him through the letter that once he found them, they would travel immediately to the kingdom of Ormunda. Anders also told him that if he wanted to send a letter to him, he just needed to send it through the Mage Guild, and his father would check with the guild once every three days.
Anton briefly wondered why his family was sticking to an old-school type of communication. This was a world of magic, and he assumed that there should be magical items that would allow the three of them to communicate in real-time. He decided to look for such an item the next day.
So basically, his current plan was to rot in bed for the rest of the day, and then the next day, he would send a letter to his father, send twenty of his high-level mana stones to Anna, then search for magical items in the kingdom’s magic shops that he could send to his father and sister that would allow them to communicated in real time regardless of distance, and if it was possible, even if he was deep inside a dungeon.
Anton immediately wrote two letters, one for his father and one for his sister. The letter for his father just contained the experiences that he recently had dungeon delving, while the letter for his sister was the same, with the added information that he sent twenty high-level mana stones to her.
