My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 489
Anton changed his mind about going to the beginner dungeon after resting that night. He wanted to gather enough funds so that when his father arrived from New Drennor, together with Selena, Norma, and Belue’s families, they would have the wealth to support several people in a lavish lifestyle. He knew that Anders promised his paramours that he would take care of their families, and his father fully intended to follow through on that promise.
He wanted his family to live wealthy lives because, first, Anton had the capabilities to provide wealth, second, he firmly believed that sooner or later, everything would be destroyed, and that the only thing that would be left was some meaningless war with the undead, with the sole purpose of their survival.
Since he had already told the dwarves and the maids that he would be gone for some time, Anton decided to spend the time to complete the one-hundred-gold quest so that he could increase his rank. He wanted to be able to delve into deeper floors because, frankly, Anton was feeling bored with just blazing through easy enemies. He wanted a challenge since he knew that the only way for him to be able to grow his combat abilities was to encounter difficult battles.
Anton’s Diablo II system would not be able to provide that combat experience since he already knew the characteristics of the most difficult enemies in the game by heart.
The good thing about spending the majority of his time inside the twentieth floor of the Dungeon of Balathar was, he was going to be able to level up his ladder barbarian at the same time. His ladder barbarian was already level thirty-five. Anton knew that the leaders of his summons, which were the Valkyrie and the Shadow Master, were learning, and soon, they would be able to gather all the loot from the monsters without missing anything, even without his monitoring. That meant that he could concentrate on leveling up his Diablo II characters without interruption.
Anton felt that once he leveled all the ladder characters, another update could occur. He needed those updates because it was the signal that his Diablo II system was also growing. He needed his system to grow so he could grow in power as well, and he needed that power to be able to contend with the undead when the time came that he needed to battle it out with them.
He said goodbye to the dwarves and the maids after breakfast and headed to the woodworker that Anton commissioned to have a tiny house built. When he arrived at the carpenter’s shop, the carpenter proudly showed him the tiny house. It was a simple, rectangular house that Anton could fit in his inventory. Inside the house was a small kitchen with a sink, a bed, a bathroom, and a toilet. There was a fireplace, but Anton would just use his enchanted Firewall stove or Frozen Orb air conditioner and place them in the fireplace. The fireplace was the only part of the house that was made of some sort of metal, which the carpenter assured him would not catch fire.
Anton paid the carpenter, happy with the tiny house construction. He stored it in his inventory and then headed directly to the dungeon of Balathar. When he arrived at the guild branch, Anton immediately requested a dungeon key and, without further ado, headed directly to the dungeon.
When he entered the portal, Anton was surprised to see a different biodome. It was a desert, and it was extremely hot. There was a sun in the sky, but he knew that it was just an illusion created by the dungeon and was not actually the sun.
Anton immediately summoned all of his minions and then constructed a small tent on top of the dire bear so he could block the sun from roasting him. He then activated a Frozen Orb air conditioner sculpture inside the tiny tent on top of the bear, and that made the inside of the tent comfortable. He then commanded his minions to move forward and destroy all the monsters that they would encounter.
During the first few hours, Anton’s curiosity about what type of monsters this biodome would throw at him prevented him from entering his Diablo II system to level up his ladder barbarian character. He observed his minions' battles with the enemies in the desert biodome. He saw huge desert scorpions, a mob of desert snakes, a flock of some kind of vulture monsters, sand golems, desert trolls, and Naga monsters of all sorts of professions, like a warrior, mage, or archer. Regardless of which type of enemies his summons encountered, the fact that it was the twentieth floor meant that the monsters were easily defeated.
He also observed his Valkyrie and Shadow Master and was delighted to see that they were not missing any of the loot. After that, Anton concentrated on his Diablo II system and even joined a party so he could level up his ladder barbarian faster. He focused so much on his character that he wasn’t even aware anymore of what was happening in his surroundings.
Anton only stopped playing when he felt hungry, and when he checked the time, it was already around one in the afternoon. He didn’t stop his summons from exploring the desert to find enemies to kill, and just ate a quick meal. After that, he entered his system again to continue leveling up his ladder barbarian character.
He only stopped leveling his barbarian when he noticed that it was already dark. Anton noticed that it had become extremely cold, so he turned off his air conditioner and prepared to camp for the night.
Anton retrieved his tiny house from his inventory, ate dinner, took a bath then prepared to sleep inside his new house that was now being heated by a Firewall stove. He made sure that the window was open to avoid being suffocated. He wasn’t worried about the loss of energy for the escaping heat since it was the energy was from the item’s mana storage, and he could easily fill it up again with just a few spells cast. He felt extremely comfortable inside his tiny house while his summons guarded him. He watched a few television shows, and soon he was asleep.
Anton woke up after a few hours, fully rested. After his preparation, he and his summons continued decimating the monsters on the twentieth floor, and by the time noon arrived, he received a signal from the dungeon key that all of the monsters had been killed.
He counted his gains for that delved. His ladder barbarian leveled up to forty-five. He earned ten medium-level mana stones, opened a couple of treasure chests, and earned three high-level mana stones. Anton saw that his summons also collected the quest item to complete around twelve gold-level quests.
Anton exited the dungeon and went to the guild branch. His point of contact, the elf Elianah, was the one who exchanged the medium-mana stone for credits in his adventurer guild bank card. She also informed him that the total gold level quests that he had submitted was now sixty-two.
That meant that just around four of five more delves and Anton would be able to rank up. He immediately requested a dungeon key, and Elianah retrieved one for him. He didn’t waste any time and headed back to the dungeon.
