My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 469
Anton stumbled into a dark place, but soon after, light came from the torch that Norman lit. The warp gate closed, and he studied the surroundings, at least the places where the torchlight could reach. They were in a huge cave, and there was a road that led deep into the cave.
“It is going to be this dark all the time?” Anton asked gloomily.
“This is the second floor, and we’ve only been here twice. We didn’t last long, but we did hear that there were instances that it’s dark all the time, and since it was still afternoon outside, it should have been brighter, but the fact that it was dark meant that this delve became much more dangerous,” Flint said grimly.
Anton retrieved a couple of Lantern of Firebolt, and he was thankful that he had not sold all of his enchanted items. The moment he turned on the enchanted lanterns, the light surrounding them grew large and he could now see that cavern that they stumbled into.
There were hanging stalactites at the cavern’s ceiling, but thankfully, there were few stalagmites that monsters could use to hide, and more than likely, it was because they were only on the second floor. The irregular road was straightforward, and again, it was because it was only on the second floor.
While Flint was attaching the lanterns to a long stick that was supposed to be carried by him and Ariana, since they were supposed to stay at the back as support, Anton added everyone to his party system and activated the Fanaticism aura.
“Oh my divines! I feel your magic, Anton! I feel so powerful!” Norman exclaimed, and even Flint and Ariana were sporting excited expressions.
Anton already arranged his Paladin’s skill for party play, but the good thing was, he could increase or decrease the level anytime he wanted. Right then, he had changed the level of Fanaticism to level ten, and because of that, the increased attack speed, attack rating, and damage were immense.
“I recommend that you do some practice weapon warm-up so you can acclimate yourselves to your increased power. My spell has increased your attack speed, your accuracy, and your damage. Remember, my healing spells are very powerful as well, so it doesn’t matter if you get wounded. Just don’t die instantly. I will not be attacking but will summon a raven that will defend me and Ariana from monsters that get passed you,” Anton told the group.
While Flint, Ariana, and Norman were practicing their weapons, Anton summoned a single Raven. He knew that a single Raven summon from him was enough to decimate all the monsters on this floor, so he commanded the summons to only attack those monsters who might reach him and Ariana.
Anton saw that the three were still practicing their weapon while exclaiming at the power they exuded. Their movement was so fast that their swings probably looked like a blur to normal people. While they were doing their thing, Anton went to the wall and touched it, and as expected, a panel appeared. It was different from what he was told. He was offered an option to view the characters he wanted, and when he clicked on Paladin, he saw his Paladin’s stats window. He tapped on the back arrow located at the upper left corner of the panel, and it brought him back to the page where he could select the character that he wanted to view, so he chose the Sorceress, and as expected, it showed him his Sorceress stat panel.
He assumed that his Diablo II system just took over the dungeon panel system and showed him his stats, and that brought home the fact that his Diablo II system was extremely powerful.
When Anton turned his attention back onto Flint, Ariana, and Norman, he saw that they were still doing some weapon exercises.
“Hey, you guys, stop that. You’ll get tired and won’t have the strength for the monsters.”
“Sorry about that. It’s just that the increase in our strength is unbelievable!” Flint said.
“Please remember that it’s my spell, and the moment I’m not part of your group anymore, it will revert to your original strength.”
Flint nodded and then gave the command that it was time for them to move on. Anton carried the long stick that had the lantern on his back, and Ariana was the same. It was tied around their back like a backpack. Flint and Norman was walking ahead while Anton and Ariana followed them.
The first group that they encountered was a pack of reptile-faced kobolds. Anton counted, and there were around fifteen of them. The monsters were around three to four feet tall and were wielding weapons made of stone like daggers, short swords, and clubs.
Flint and Norman bravely ran to the kobold pack, possibly brought on by the confidence they had acquired because of the strength they had received from Anton’s Fanaticism Aura. Ariana handled the kobolds that ran past Flint and Norman, and her action was fast enough that not one monster reached her and Anton.
The battle was particularly gruesome with Flint and Norman harvesting the tiny monster lives effortlessly. They ignored the damage they received and Norman even used his arm to block the monsters’ weapons causing his arm to sport severe wounds. Ariana’s arrows hit those who went passed Flint and Norman at the monsters’ vital places like the eyes and the neck and after a few minutes, all the monsters were dead.
Anton immediately switched his aura to Prayer, and Flint and Norman suddenly shouted.
“Oh my divines, all my wounds are healed!” Norman exclaimed, and even Flint’s eyes were wide while looking at his own sword arm.
“I told you my healing spells are the best. I’m going to switch to a spell that will renew our stamina,” Anton said. then, he switched his aura to Vigor.
Flint, Norman, and Ariana’s eyes grew wide again and it probably because they felt the tiredness sloughing away from their bodies.
“You are a god, Andrew!” Flint said to Anton respectfully.
Anton then saw the bodies of the dead kobolds decayed extremely fast as if he were watching a video on fast-forward motion. Flint told him that monsters would behave that way if not tagged by the warp gate statuette after a few seconds that they were killed so those monsters that they needed to skin or scavenge needed to be tagged by the warp portal statuette.
Since there were no parts that they could scavenge from the kobolds, they didn’t tag any of them, but the three watched the decaying of the corpses closely. When Anton asked why, they said that if there were any mana stones, they would appear after the monsters disappeared.
“Oh my divines, there’s one mana stone!” Ariana shouted, then she ran towards where she saw the mana stone.
Anton knew that with the single mana stone, the group had already earned a lot of coins since one low mana stone was equal to one hundred gold coins.
After that exciting moment, the four continued their exploration of the second floor of the beginner dungeon.
The next monsters they encountered were something that Anton detested. They were large spiders as large as a dog, and there were ten of them. Flint and Norman ran to the group of spiders while Ariana focused her eyes on any spiders that went passed the two warriors. Of course, Anton had already switched his aura to his Fanaticism, so the group’s power was at its peak.
Around three spiders went past Flint and Norman, and Ariana killed two. When the third one was about to reach them, Anton’s raven killed it with a single scratch of its talon.
