Anton was thankful that the ship’s wizards allowed him to stay in this room, away from those who were conducting the ritual in an attempt to outrun the Undead Coalition’s ships. Because he knew the Invincible Wizard Katrina’s plan regarding him, it was getting exceedingly difficult to observe her without his bitterness showing off in his face.

If the worst happened, Anton was grateful that he lived happily in the Amelia together with his friends for a few weeks. He felt like a regular privileged teenager, spending their days doing nothing but causing shenanigans. He never had that before, and he was grateful for the experience.

He thought that when he transmigrated and then they had to run from the undead, Anton’s life in this world was going to be a nonstop battle until he died, but during the months leading to his current life on the ship, he had to admit that he was happy. He got to experience what it was like to live like one of the protagonists in the fantasy web novels that he loved to read.

After pitying himself for several more minutes, which Anton knew would not help him, he discarded the behavior and wore a resolute expression. He wanted to live, and he would do everything in his power to do so.

His father told him before Anders left that they would be back during dinner time to bring him food and to tell him information on what was happening on the ship but it was still several hours away so the only thing that he could do was to think of items that he could create that would allow them to escape from the clutches of the undead and Katrina.

Anton decided to create an accessory that would contain the Assassin’s skill, Cloak of Shadows. It was a good skill for escaping, and his family could definitely use something like it, so he spent the next few hours attempting to create something like that.

A good thing that he had plenty of gold coins from the sale of the large mana power banks, so inside the World of Sanctuary, just outside the Rogue Encampment, Anton melted several tens of gold coins and constructed a simple bracelet. Once he had several of them, he began attempting to enchant them with the Cloak of Shadows skill, but unfortunately, even after several hours, he was unsuccessful.

By the time it was only a few minutes before his father would arrive, he finally had a prototype. The first Bracelet of Cloak of Shadows that he created contained only level three of the said skill. All of his attempts above level three met failure. After that, he exited his Diablo II system and waited for his father to arrive.

When Anders arrived, he was accompanied by Frederick. His father immediately retrieved the magic item recorder and began playing the songs that Anton had recorded to cover up their conversation.

His father also retrieved some food and put it on the table in front of Anton.

“We procured an emergency lifeboat big enough for all of us. My spatial item was also large enough to contain the lifeboat,” Anton’s father said.

He had to thank the elder vampire again, whom he had enslaved before, because the spatial item was his; otherwise, it would have been extremely difficult for them to find something comparable.

“Father, please ask everyone to remain in the suite because the moment something happens, I will rush there,” Anton said softly.

Anton’s father said that he understood and would do what he asked. After that, Anders and Frederick started telling him the situation on the ship.

“Everyone’s afraid. A rumor is circulating that the undead will catch up to us, and no one knows where the rumor started. It actually predated the time you told your father your speculations regarding the power of the ships that are pursuing us,” Frederick whispered.

Because of that fear, a lot of the passengers were stockpiling food, so their family joined in on the fray. Every member of Anton’s family had their spatial items, and because they were influenced by Anton, all of them had food and water stored inside their storage things.

After their discussion, Anton gave the Bracelet of Cloak of Shadows that he had recently made to his father and told Anders its functions.

“Anna and I will bring you breakfast tomorrow,” Anton’s father told him, and Anton felt grateful.

It was lonely staying in the room alone, but he still preferred it compared to staying with the ship’s wizards conducting the ritual that was hastening the movement of the ship.

After his father and Frederick had left, the Supreme Wizard, who was handling the satiation spell and making sure that the mana power bank was always full of mana, entered the room. The wizard asked him if he could continue helping the wizards with his “wonderful” spell, and Anton simply replied that there was no problem and would be able to continue as long as they needed him. The wizard left soon after, and since Anton was alone, he decided to rest. He wanted his mind to remain fresh for the next several days since he knew that it was important for him to remain alert, and thanks to the Pearl of the Ocean that his ocean friends gave him, it was easy enough for him to fall asleep.

Anton woke up after several hours, and he felt fully rested. He stored the pearl in his inventory and checked the time. It was only around four in the morning, so he still had several hours before his father and Anna arrived to bring him his breakfast. To be honest, he didn’t need anyone to bring him food because he did have several tons of food in his inventory that he had collected over time, but he needed to see his father and his sister because their presence made him calm.

Anton suddenly missed the time when the only thing he did every time he woke up was go to his magic classes or play with his friends. Now, he was stuck in this room, working as an aura for the wizards. The sad part was, he was not going to receive thanks for all his work but a death sentence because the Invincible Wizard wanted his auras, which he doubted that she could even retrieve. After all, it was from his Diablo II system.

He started creating a second Bracelet of Cloak of Shadows to give to his sister, and by the time they arrived, it was ready.

When his father and Anna entered, they began serving him the food they had prepared, and then Anders began playing the music recorded in the magic item recorder to cover up their conversation.

Anton gave the bracelet that he had just made to Anna and explained to her how the Cloak of Shadow skill worked.

“Can I try it?” Anna asked.

“No. The skill’s range is a bit large, and people would notice it,” Anton answered.

After that, Anders told him the news that was circulating on the ship. His friends Torun, Blake, Andrea, and Soren also visited late last night, wanting to learn information from him, and since they were Anton’s friends, Anders tried his best to provide information as subtly as he could. Anton immediately tried to forget about his friends because he could not afford to break down. He had to concentrate since his life and his family’s lives depended on him.
