Anton was concocting plans in his mind on how to escape both the Undead Coalition and the Invincible Wizard Katrina while waiting for noon to arrive. So far, the only thing that he could think of was to ask his father, Lucas, or Devon to steal one of the lifeboats or something big enough that could hold all of them, then use his Telekinesis to control the lifeboat so it would be fast enough for them to get away and use some of his other spells, like the Assassin skills to hide the lifeboat while they were fleeing.

Based on his observation, even though the ritual was ongoing and the ship’s wizards could conduct it without stopping, Anton thought that the wizards might be expecting that the undead would inevitably catch up to the Amelia.

It was a logical conclusion that anyone who had a little intelligence would conclude. Since two hundred ships were pursuing them, there was a huge chance there would be mages or liches that were as powerful as Katrina among them, and it was safe to assume that they also had spells that would allow them to speed up to catch up to the Amelia.

The moment the Undead Coalition ships collided with the Amelia was the chance that Anton and his family could use to escape.

Anton began grieving. Because he thought that it was inevitable that the undead would catch up with them, it would only result in two things. The death of most of the passengers or their enslavement. He knew for a fact that the most powerful wizards on the ships would use all their powers to escape and not bother with others because that was what the Invincible Wizard and the Supreme Wizards did when the city of Zalnothel fell. As far as he knew.

He grieved because he could not save everyone he wanted to save. Even their beloved family horses would be sacrificed, and Maide and Bailey had been with their family ever since he transmigrated into this world.

If the Amelia was captured and was not destroyed by the undead, Antonia, Lucia, Walter, and Philip might survive due to them being scions of rich families. If the undead would consider such things. The only thing Anton knew was he wasn’t sure how the undead would behave.

Torun, Blake, Andrea, Soren and his gang, and their families were ordinary passengers, and there was a huge chance that they would be sacrificed. At that moment, Anton grieved so much that to hide his reaction, he entered his Diablo II system since at least his body remaining in the ritual room would remain calm with its eyes closed. Outside the Rogue Encampment, Anton vented out his grief. Even though he was supposed to be an archmage who commanded multitudes of spells and skills from all of his Diablo II characters, he felt so powerless.

He was not even sure that he could save himself and his family, much less his friends. He knew for a fact that his friends would never leave their families, so the only thing he could do was focus on his family. At that moment, he hated the Undead Coalition and the Invincible Wizard who wanted to take his life because of his magic so much. At that moment, he childishly shouted that he hoped they all die.

When he calmed down enough to hide his emotions, Anton exited his Diablo II system and observed his surroundings. Nothing had changed. The ritual was stable, and every wizard in the room, including Katrina, had their eyes closed, focusing on the magic.

Noon arrived, and the Supreme Wizard, who was casting spells on them to make them full, arrived. After the mage was done with his spells, he beckoned to Anton to follow him, and he was brought to the room next to the room where the ritual was being held.

Anton was glad that the range of his auras was large enough that he was allowed some privacy when talking to his father and his sister. When he entered the room, Anders and Anna were there, waiting for him. After joining his family, the Supreme Wizard left, giving them some privacy after saying that he would give them a couple of hours.

“Father, can you bring out the magic item recorder that had my recorded songs?” Anton told his father after the Supreme Wizard left.

Anders and Anna had probably noticed his unusual behavior, so his father immediately brought out the magic item and began playing it. Anton asked to play it loudly enough so they could have some privacy when they talked.

“What do you want to talk about, son, that you don’t want anyone to overhear?” Anders asked.

“I don’t even know if this is enough to hide our conversation. I just hope that the ritual is enough for the Invincible Wizard and all the Supreme Mages to not bother listening in on us,” Anton told his father and Anna softly.

To answer their questioning looks, Anton told them that he was sure that the Undead Coalition would be able to catch up to the Amelia and that meant that it was inevitable for all of them to perish or be enslaved. Anna looked terrified and asked him how he knew and if the wizards told him.

“There are two hundred ships from the Undead Coalition chasing us, Anna, and we can conclude that there would be wizards or liches that are as powerful as our Invincible Wizard and Supreme Wizards. Not only that, I have something to tell you that is very dangerous.”

With the music covering their conversation, Anton told his father and Anna, who was already crying softly, about the letter that he received from Antonia and Numinor. He told them that the letter said that the Invincible Wizard planned to capture all of them so they could retrieve from Anton the spell that allowed wizards to memorize spells in an extraordinarily short amount of time.

“The Lady Katrina doesn’t even care if I survive during the retrieval of knowledge, according to the information that Antonia received from Numinor.”

Anton’s father looked extremely angry, worried, and sad, which he understood completely since that was what he was feeling. Anna, thankfully, stopped crying and suddenly looked resolute. All of their experience ever since they ran from their home country had given them the resilience to try to survive even at the direst of times.

“Do you have a plan?” Anders asked.

Anton then shared his initial plan involving Anders, Lucas, and Devon stealing a lifeboat. Once the inevitable clash between the Undead Coalition ships and the Amelia occurred, they would use the situation to escape, while Anton would employ his spells to control the lifeboat and conceal their run as best as he could.

The Supreme Wizard had given them a couple of hours, so they used the time to plan. However, after three hours, the wizard still hadn’t returned. When he finally did, it was after three hours had passed.

“Archmage Sunder, since your spell can cover the Invincible Wizard Katrina and the others while you are staying in this room, the Invincible allowed you to remain here during the ritual. Your family could accompany you if they wanted, or they could come and go from this room if they wanted. Ms. Katrina said this is her thanks for your assistance in the ritual. They can also bring you food, so we don’t have to cast the sustenance spell on you since it isn’t necessary.”

After saying that, the Supreme Wizard departed. His father and Anna also left after hugging him. His father informed him that he would execute their plan at the earliest opportunity.
