Chapter 321: Chapter 229: Bizarre Blind Date Encounter with Top-notch
That evening, Jin Qiu had arranged two dates.
She also did a light makeup for Ziyan, making her already delicate features even prettier.
The imagined blind date involved two people sitting in a romantic restaurant, getting to know each other, but reality was always full of oddities.
The first one, Jin Qiu took Ziyan with her as support, casually translating sign language for her.
Who knew the man who looked gentle and refined in the photos would turn out to be this fatty with big ears and a somewhat sleazy appearance.
Jin Qiu checked the seat number, no mistake, and went up to ask, “Excuse me… are you Mr. Wang?”
The man looked up, grinned eagerly and nodded: “Yes, yes! That’s me!”
He stood up, yet he wasn’t even as tall as her!
“That… how come you don’t look like your photo?” Jin Qiu asked, slightly embarrassed.
The man straightforwardly replied, “The photo is of my brother.”
As Jin Qiu sat down with Ziyan, she asked, “Where is he then?”
The man said matter-of-factly, “I am here for the blind date, of course!”
Jin Qiu immediately got annoyed: “Then aren’t you deceiving people by using his photo?!”
Who would have expected the man to say, “If I didn’t use his photo, would you have come? There wouldn’t even be a chance to meet, right? Without a chance, I have no possibility to try!”
Jin Qiu heard this, and it made some sense; it’s not scary if a person is ugly, as long as their character is good.
So, she began to inquire on Yanyan’s behalf: “First, tell us about your family situation.”
The man glanced at Jin Qiu’s pregnant belly and asked, “Are you looking or is it her?”
“Of course, it’s her!”
“If it’s her, let her talk to me directly!”
Ziyan awkwardly looked at Jin Qiu, which made Jin Qiu upset: “What’s this attitude? I’m her sister, are you saying I can’t speak now?”
The man also got annoyed: “Why are you so aggressive? What about your attitude?”
Upon hearing this, Jin Qiu commented that this man was making a mountain out of a molehill despite his hefty self! She promptly pulled Ziyan up to leave: “No wonder you can’t find a wife!”
Ziyan smiled apologetically and exited holding Dudu.
The man continued muttering curses behind them.
The first blind date went so poorly that Ziyan felt timid.
Yet, she promptly followed Jin Qiu to another blind date location.
This time, they met at an open-air restaurant. The man looked refined, though slightly older.
He hurried to pull out the chairs for them and asked Ziyan while she held Dudu, “Is this Miss Song Ziyan?”
Ziyan smiled nodded.
The man complimented, “Such a nice name.”
He introduced himself: “My name is Zhang Yuanhang. I’m also from a divorced family and have a son in middle school.”
Ziyan listened quietly, not really focused on finding a partner, but for Dudu’s sake, it didn’t matter how good the person was, or whether they loved her, as long as he was good to Dudu.
Hearing that he was also divorced and had a child, Ziyan felt a connection with another unfortunate soul.
However, the only downside was that the man talked too much and was overly practical, even mentioning splitting wedding expenses!
He rattled on about his family situation, then said: “That’s my life, Ziyan, your turn now.”
Ziyan, holding Dudu with one hand and gesturing with the other, hadn’t finished a single sentence before the man interrupted, surprised: “You can’t speak?”
Ziyan and Jin Qiu both froze; before Jin Qiu could explain, the man stood up saying, “I think this will be too difficult. I don’t know sign language. Let’s just call it off,” and left directly, even leaving Ziyan to pay the final bill.
“Damn it! Meeting two absurd men in one go!”
Ziyan gave a light laugh, though she felt somewhat disheartened inside; not being accepted by others felt terrible.
Especially that man, who, upon realizing she couldn’t speak, rushed away as if he had seen a ghost, as if afraid she would cling to him.
She never used to think being mute was laughable, but now slowly, she felt it was seen as a flaw in the eyes of others.
All the way home, Jin Qiu was indignant, dropping Ziyan off and saying, “Tomorrow I will check these men thoroughly, and then we’ll set another date!”
Ziyan held her back: No need… let’s not do this anymore…
