Chapter 317: Chapter 226: He and Tang Shaosheng Are the Complete Opposite_2

The smile deepened.

The next day, Su Yuecheng received a call from Liu Yuyuan.

He knew about Su Yalan’s imprisonment and the Su Family’s downfall. After all, Liu Yuyuan is his mother, so he had sent some money back home recently.

Su Yuecheng answered the call and asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Yuecheng… Mom wants to come and live with you.”

Su Yuecheng glanced at Ziyan beside him and said, “It’s not very convenient.”

Liu Yuyuan said, “You know, all the houses were used to pay off debts. Where I am living now, not to mention how small it is, the key issue is that it’s somewhat damp. You know about my rheumatism…”

Su Yuecheng immediately replied, “Then find yourself another place, and I’ll buy it for you.”

“No need, no need, that’s just a waste…” She paused, “Sigh, Mom is old, and even if I buy a new place, I won’t live there for too long. Besides… I want to live with you. It’s nice to have someone to talk to. Mom knows she wronged you in the past. Can you give Mom a chance to make up for it?”

Without waiting for his reply, Liu Yuyuan sighed deeply, “Can’t you just keep Mom company? I’m getting old; you never know when I might be gone…”

Su Yuecheng frowned, thought for a moment, and replied, “I’ll make arrangements and call you back.”

After hanging up the phone, he said to Ziyan, “Yanyan, my mom wants to come stay here for a while.”

Without thinking, Ziyan nodded. She was dependent on others, let alone his mother. It was already giving her face that he asked her. How could she refuse?

Lastly, with some restraint, she asked, “Will it be inconvenient for me to stay here?”

“No problem, just carry on as usual.”

His mother, Nian’s grandmother, she had heard from Nian before about how sharp and critical she could be, but as long as she didn’t go provoking her, she would be fine, right?

Even though Su Yuecheng said to carry on as usual, Ziyan started to feel uneasy even before his mother had arrived.

The third day, Liu Yuyuan came.

Out of politeness, Ziyan took Dudu with her to pick her up from the airport. Although Carey had time, he didn’t come.

Carey hadn’t forgotten how this grandmother had treated him and his mother when they were with the Su Family. A seed of deep resentment had been planted in his young heart.

As soon as Liu Yuyuan got off the plane and saw Su Yuecheng, her face lit up with a smile, but upon seeing Ziyan and her daughter, the smile froze. Her eyes clearly showing disdain, she asked, “Why is she here too?”

Su Yuecheng simply replied, “It’s some business, get in the car.”

Her attitude extinguished the greeting smile Ziyan wanted to offer.

After glancing at Ziyan a few more times, Liu Yuyuan stepped into the car.

It was the driver’s car; Liu Yuyuan sat in the front passenger seat, while Su Yuecheng and Ziyan sat in the back with her daughter.

Initially, the car ride was dead quiet, until Dudu suddenly started crying. Then Liu Yuyuan looked back at Ziyan and her daughter again, disregarding Ziyan’s feelings, and asked Su Yuecheng, “Isn’t this woman the daughter-in-law of the Tang Family? Why is she with you?”

Su Yuecheng, looking down at the crying Dudu, replied, “That’s not something for you to worry about.”

Liu Yuyuan sulkily closed her mouth. She was already doing pretty well getting her son’s agreement to let her stay; she couldn’t be as haughty as she used to be at the Su Family.

“I’ll hold him,” said Su Yuecheng as he took the crying Dudu into his arms, while Liu Yuyuan couldn’t help but glance over again.

She was worried that her son was oblivious and had been deceived by this woman, bringing someone else’s leftovers into his life without knowing anything.

Her son was so outstanding; how could he marry such a woman?

Unable to help it, she asked again, “Whose child is that?”

Su Yuecheng looked up at her, “As long as you’re here to stay, don’t pay attention to the rest.”

She didn’t dare to scold her son for speaking to her in such a tone, because the things she used to say to him were even more unpleasant.

He was kind enough to acknowledge her as his mother, and that was already very filial of him.

Ziyan also knew that his mother was misunderstanding, but she couldn’t explain in sign language, and so didn’t know what to do, just feeling awkward and uncomfortable.

When they got home, Su Yuecheng arranged for his mother to stay in the room of the building opposite. Ziyan sighed with relief, at least they would cross paths less often.

Su Yan was doing his homework, completely ignoring the presence of this grandmother, without a single word exchanged since she entered.

With Liu Yuyuan joining the household, the atmosphere became strange; only the clueless Dudu cried as always.

“Are you hungry? I’ll go prepare some formula.”

When Liu Yuyuan came downstairs after settling in her luggage, she saw her son preparing formula, looking very much like a doting father.

Could it be that he had secretly married this woman? And even had a child?

While walking closer and looking at Ziyan, Liu Yuyuan thought, although this girl looks fine, she’s tainted, plus a mute. There’s not a single thing about her that’s good enough for her son!

Scared of being scolded by her son, Liu Yuyuan kept quiet.

At noon, Su Yuecheng was cooking in the kitchen, while Ziyan sat on the living room sofa trying to get the child to sleep.

Liu Yuyuan approached and asked, “Is this child Yuecheng’s?”

Ziyan was startled by her voice, belatedly shaking her head.

Hearing that it wasn’t, Liu Yuyuan breathed a sigh of relief, then asked, “Then why are you living in my son’s house?”

Ziyan pursed her lips, unable to speak, holding Dudu without being able to use sign language.

Liu Yuyuan became aggressive, “I’m telling you not to set your sights on my son. Look at what you are, and don’t think because my son doesn’t badmouth you that you can just stick around here. What, you want to take some property when you leave?”

Ziyan looked down, even the baby in her arms became restless from the quarreling, about to fall asleep but now crying with a puckered mouth.

Hearing the child’s cry, Su Yuecheng came out of the kitchen. Seeing Liu Yuyuan standing by Ziyan, as if suddenly realizing something, he spoke to Su Yan, “Carey, hold Dudu for a moment. Yanyan, come to the kitchen to help me.”
